Hey Nastya 💛 I watch all your videos! Have you ever considered getting a small clip-on or handheld mic 🎤 ? I think it would make your vids even better. Especially the outside scenes with heavy background noise 💓
(father of two boys writing) 10:30 - keep that wall by any means! Space isn't all that counts. Your kids will need some privacy! If not now it will be in some years. I'm sure they both love their mum but they'll not be keen to have her walk through their room at any occasion. And you will never disturb their sleep when you get yourself a cup of tea late at night.
I would keep the wall up for that room and make it your bedroom and give the kids the big bedroom at the back and that space outside the bedrooms would be a little sitting room with the tv unit as I didnt see a lounge in the apartment
A lot of soviet era apartments don't have a separate area for tv. The sleeping area is also the living room. But your suggestion is great because it would allow for more privacy for everyone.
If you keep the corridor room, you can place the wardrobes and shelfs there, washing machine etc. Sliding doors can save you a lot of space too, cabinets, wardrobes, kitchen door etc.
And the bathroom, most boys prefer to shower, so I would do away with the bath completely and put in a nice shower. This will allow for more space to get dressed etc.?! Good Luck from South Africa.
Lovely autumn trees, no litter/rubbish on the street, people looking fit and walking on good footpaths in pleasant parks, a kind Grandmother baking cakes, an apartment to decorate = good.
I don't know why I have such a soft spot for her. Seeing how kind other people are in the comments makes me have hope in humanity. We regular common folks don't wish for war or animosity between any country. I wish her and her family endless blessings, happiness & success. She's such a caring mother and a beautiful soul. From New York. 🩷
If it were me I would leave the wall up, and take the smaller room just for me and give the bigger room to both boys..And like someone else said that small area could be a study for your older son.
I would keep the wall as is and give the large bedroom to the boys keep the small bedroom for myself and in that hallway nook install a built in wardrobe for myself that way you can keep your privacy.
You should definitely keep the little "awkward" area instead of tearing down the wall. You could make it a little office area, add wardrobes/cabinets for storage or even put your fridge in there since your kitchen is pretty small.
I'm so excited to see the finished results and also your decorating style! ❤ One of my absolute favorite things to do lately is to see how other women around the world live. I am from a 400 year old Swedish small town, and I regularly watch women in the mountains of Afghanistan, young office workers in Tokyo Japan, girls from Lagos Nigeria, a woman on Svalbard near the arctic circle...it's so beyond fascinating to me and fosters a sense of unity and solidarity because as humans we really are all the same deep down.
It makes perfect sense that you came back home to improve your mental health. Having a good family support system really provides a strong sense of security which reduces and eliminates feelings of anxiety and panic attacks.
Always loved the fountains in Russia, it adds so much charm, thanks for showing all you do, hope people come to understand the truth about people in general.
I would leave the partition wall but move it in so the boys' room is a bit smaller but you have space to create a family room in the off area. To relax together, watch movies, play games, or read, etc. I love this apt!
Not sure if this is structurally possible but I would a) keep that wall there and b) move the wall for that back bedroom back, to make it smaller. Then you'd have a larger open area in the middle for a living room, while still having 2 private bedrooms.
If you take down the hallway wall, then I’d make the room at the back the kids room instead of your room. Then the big open space you are left with could be living room by day and your bedroom by night with a quality fold out bed. Kids would be snug at back and you have whole apartment to yourself in evening without disturbing them.
I would keep the kids room with the walls (just put up better/new ones), and that 'odd' space in the hall, turn that into a closet/storage space with a door (bi-fold doors). Also keep that little storage closet, to the right of the toilet room, and put in shelving all on the back wall......turn that into a pantry to store food in.....because your kitchen is so small. With such a small apartment those 2 storage spaces (in the hallway and new pantry)......you will NEED that storage space! The hallway closet......install a bar to hang clothes on hangers, maybe some shelves on the side walls and a 'bench' towards the bottom back wall to store shoes/boots on/under the 'bench'. Once you start putting furniture in a small apartment......it'll get even SMALLER. Anything that can be stored in the hallway closet.....will give you more space in the rooms.
I can’t wait to see how your apartment looks when it’s been renovated! I’ve been watching your videos for a while now and I’m always amazed at how clean and well maintained the public spaces are. I never see litter!
Leave it as is and do light paint touchups and repair and not change much maybe add some kitchen counters in the kitchen and put a fridge and stove from that era back into it to match. I think it’s very livable.
Thank you for showing your new home. I'm sure, it will be very nice and cozy. I would not knock down the wall, because the boys need privacy too. In the smaller room you can place wardrobes or a table with chairs.
Hi Nastya, what a beautiful apartment!! I personally wouldn't knock down the wall of the kids' bedroom but I would use the "strange space" as a storage space furnished with wardrobes, and I would leave the bedroom smaller but more separated from the rest of the house. I'm sure you will all be happy in the new apartment. A hug from Italy
I’m from the USA and your place looks a lot like some of the homes where I grew up in middle America. I love it! It has so much potential for coziness. ❤😊
@mygirldarby neither have I, soviet union apartment videos on TH-cam always shock me because I grew up in America and have never seen apartments look like that.
The small space could even be a dining room leaving more space in the kitchen for storage and counter space. I’d keep it and use it for something just so the boys could have their own contained space.
Leave walls be for boys private space so they can close the door if they are watching tv or playing they don't need wide open space so if quest stop by they won't walk thru the boys room and personal spaces
Maybe leave the wall and make the little space into a dining area with table and chairs. School work could be done there too…this leaves extra space in kitchen without table for more cabinets and storage.
The little storage next to the front door: I would keep a door in it. On medium level a rack for coats, ground level for shoes/houseslippers and as much shelving as possible for seasonal coats/storage of odd things (gift wrapping, Christmas deco and such). You could even utilize the inside side of the door. I would try to make a decent boysroom out of the room you wanted as a living room/mum’s bedroom by downsizing that room and make a living room/mum’s bedroom out of the space that’s now the odd corner (perfect for build in wardrobe without looking like a wardrobe, you could utilize the full height so even store the bed linens in there) and intended boysroom. The windows are big enough for such change. And looking forward, the boys won’t be disturbed if you want to look television or have a guest over that needs to go through their room to enter/exit. You could even think about knocking down the wall to the kitchen, making a semi open kitchen. Then you wouldn’t need the door to the kitchen (where it is now) so you’d have two walls for things like a washing machine, oven, fridge, etc. A little dinerset with a bench (storage!) a table and two (or one) chair(s). A nice sofa that turns into a bed and you’d still have room for a cabinet, tv cabinet and a coffeetable. Windows on the balcony and you’d have a place to dry clothes and extra storage.
I also live in an apartment built in 75 in Croatia, and your flat definitely doesn't look that bad (especially if you never did any renovations in the meanwhile), maybe kitchen and bathroom will need most work, but it's a great flat with super potential, and we would really like to see it once you are done with transformations.
I have always placed the value of one’s home, not by the size or appearance. But by the love of the ones who live in it and call it home. May your home. House much love and happiness.
i love your apartment, nastya. if it were mine i would preserve as much of the old features as possible. i love them. the cold storage space, i love those old green tiles in the bathroom and the faucets. i would refinish the old tub. those are all such treasures. i also love your big windows with the little window up high for fresh air. so clever. i wish i was moving in. enjoy your new home!
I like your space. It has a lot of character. I would keep the traditional things like the old Soviet style radio, the old storage space in the kitchen and any thing related to the era of when the place was built. Those things can be of value in the future. Good luck.
I visited Belarus in 2019 and your videos remember me of this trip: big monuments, very large streets and absolutely everthing clean 😊 wish you all the best!
So Beautiful 😍 I'm so happy for you 🏠do not knock down that wall you can use to put a desk or maybe a little kitchen table and the kids can do homework there💞
The apartment has good bones for redesigning and renovating. I would rethink the idea of having your sons' room as a walk-through space. I doubt that will work out well for any of you. If you can afford to invest in an architect to redesign the space, that will greatly increase the value and your enjoyment of the apartment, even if he/she only redesigns the space but leaves you to carry out the renovation. Good luck! Novosibirsk, great ballet!
Good luck with the renovations! Can’t wait to see what you’ve done. Nice that your son is in sports. Our kids and grandkids are very active and it keeps them out of trouble. They are winners!❤️🌴 We live in Florida and awaiting a visit from hurricane Helene. 😢
I'm sure Nastya you can make your apartment into a beautiful home 🏠 for you and your boys. Back in the 80's l lived in an old bungalow out the back of an elderly lady's home. It's amazing what paint, furniture, curtains and soft furnishings can do. I loved my little home with just one bedroom, kitchen and bathroom combined and an outdoor loo and lived there very happily for 7 years😊
hi for the privacy i woulg give the kids your big bedroom and keep fpr myself the tiny one keeping the wall in between and in that unused space would put a build in wardrobe ! that s just my opinion. because the kids will grow up and you dont want to pass trought their romm all the time :).....
The apartment will be so nice and cozy…I didn’t see a “ sitting room “ or “ living room “ a place for a couch and chair for you and your boys to sit and relax all together at the end of your day…maybe that little room you could put a small couch and chair in . Russia is so beautiful… I wish I could come visit it. You are such a beautiful lady…I wish you and your boys the very best❤
Ciao!
I love it😉I’m so excited for you and your boys. You always make your family nutritious food. I love that you are able to stay with your mom. She baked some beautiful desserts. The fall is really coming 🐿️🐿️good news about your son🎉 have a great day 😉
Waw is already cold there , i saw 7C . But so beautiful..especially the centee and the ballet theatre...so much history. I remembered my own city Bucharest back in 80' ❤ good ́luck with renovations. By the way big rooms , cozy ...and ❤i remembered i had a "fortishka" as well in Romania at my gramma apartment in 70' -80' . 😊kisses
Hi Nastya: Interestingly I think this is one of your best videos because of the insights and perspectives it provides about Russian life in a big city in today’s Russia. I live in the open spaces of the high desert of the western USA and our lives could not be more different but I am fascinated with your story in part I think because of these differences. A suggestion(and you may already be sensitive to this): involve your sons especially your oldest in planning the apartment spaces.
Yes! I think she may be involving them but that us very important. Boys definitely need to feel like they are contributing, even just in ideas. It helps them feel they have some input, control, and trust. Having raisedv3 boys, I really feel you need to keep that wall up for privacy for them. Bunk beds have all types of options now for small spaces. Although the apartment is not a tiny house, you could get some great ideas for your boys personal areas. I feel it us very important for them to have tgat door to close- all people want a sense of privacy.
I think once you renovate it will be so lovely. I’m very happy for you and your sons that you will eventually have a place of your own. I also enjoyed all the beautiful sites you shared with us. I still can’t get over how clean the cities and even subways seem in Russia. Unfortunately the same can’t be said for cities int the U.S. Great video!
The apartment is lovely !! When it’s finished it will be transformed . 😊 Just an idea that wall that the tenants built move it towards the window of the boys bedroom in line with the Side of the kitchen door, remove the kitchen door and that small hall/ partition wall, make open plan with the bigger hall for your dining area an upholstered bench with a back can be a comfortable place to sit /eat/the kitchen . You can built new kitchen “ galley style “ with your big window free for light . What ever you do it will be as beautiful comfortable home 😊💫
I definitely would keep the door knob latch, it is super cute and very antique looking. That small space from your entrance is almost like a Den for us here in Canada. In our condo/apartment, we have sometimes a open small room that is called a Den. You could set up a small desk or bookshelf or one make a big closet compartment where you keep your extra blankets and towels etc. However, your idea of making it a bigger room for your two boys is also nice.
❤ It's going to be a wonderful home for the 3 of you. I would tear down the short wall in the entry way and move your bedroom wall to make your room smaller and create a Small living room for all you to enjoy together. Then you would have a ... Living room, Kitchen, Bathroom and 2 Bedroom Apartment. Anyway i'm happy for you to have your own space. Thank you for sharing. Best wishes from the state of Virginia, U.S A
I like the apartment and it will be lovely when the renovations are done. All the best and may renovations go smoothly and quickly so you and your sons can move in and get settled. The autumnal colours on your walk are very pretty. I too love the season when the sun is shining and the colours are out.
You are very beautiful and your presentations are so calming…There are so many similarities with my country, România. Novosybirsk is beautiful! Can’t wait to see the renovation! 😊
Your channel came up in my feed and my Wife and I are absolutely captivated! I believe you are an awesome young woman! I think what you are doing is great… I have never been to Russia, it seems much like America! The people seem happy and pretty much like us… I think it is good to show that… Maybe you could interview some of them? I wish you and your family all the best, keep the videos coming!

I just have a hard time comprehending how you guys get out of bed on the winter and take a bus or train to work??? What time you get up there and how long is a usual walk, train , bus etc to get to work, what time do most people work till and go to lunch and home? In California no snow, just rain, traffic ever. Hey Nastya 💛 I watch all your videos! Have you ever considered getting a small clip-on or handheld mic 🎤 ? I think it would make your vids even better. Especially the outside scenes with heavy background noise 💓
Maybe you could leave the partition and turn the funny little space into a study area for your older son so he has some privacy when doing homework xx
Exactly! Or for a small piano or keyboard, desk, and/or small couch! If you make it a pullout couch, you can have guests over also
I really like this idea! Or maybe that could be like, the solitary room? Anyone who feels the need to be alone for a little while can go in there.
or for the refrigerator because the kitchen is too small
Definitely! I'm sure her older son would enjoy a quiet place of his own.
Great idea!
This is the correct answer, I think.
A lot of soviet era apartments don't have a separate area for tv. The sleeping area is also the living room. But your suggestion is great because it would allow for more privacy for everyone.
I agree!
There will be a time, when you are glad there's a wall between you & the boy's, trust me 😊
If you keep the corridor room, you can place the wardrobes and shelfs there, washing machine etc.
Sliding doors can save you a lot of space too, cabinets, wardrobes, kitchen door etc.
I think the same 😊
Yes, there's so little storage anywhere else. Could be extra pantry space as well.
Ooohh this is very smart! It’ll free up space in her kitchen.
I hope she gives the suggestions some thought.
I believe that you will make a very lovely home for you and your sons. Good luck with the renovations
That's the plan 😊
I just found your channel a few days ago. Thanks for sharing.
She has a very gentle nature, like some shared peace in this crazy world.
this beautufull soul supports war and killing people in Ukraine.
If it were me I would leave the wall up, and take the smaller room just for me and give the bigger room to both boys..And like someone else said that small area could be a study for your older son.
Keep the wall up. That space can be used as a multipurpose space. Homework/ dining room or you can turn it into a pantry/ closet etc. please keep it!
Keep the wall în place. You can make a bedroom for boys to have some intimace space and in the hallway you can put an office or a cozy small couch
who wants to sit in such narrow space, looking to a wall?
I'm excited to see the transformation of the apartment!

It'll be lovely when it is renovated. A home is what you make it and it will be perfect for you and your boys.
You should just re grout that bathroom tile! I love the color and how its all faded! Awesome apartment. Very cool style, and it's yours!!!!
With a little Hollywood magic + make up, wardrobe and styling you are easily Cameron Diaz' twin! You're a natural beauty.
Omg I was saying the same thing, when I first opened this video😊
I agree, she is a natural beauty!
What a beautiful city with those old buildings. Blessings on your new apartment.
Just imagine small towns with really old buildings 😉
They're amazing in their old style.
I would leave the partition wall but move it in so the boys' room is a bit smaller but you have space to create a family room in the off area. To relax together, watch movies, play games, or read, etc. I love this apt!

But it's normal, it must be like this, no?
I like your videos so much. The sibirian lifestyle is so interesting and reminds me of my childhood in East Germany. Greetings from Dresden...
This apartment is spacious and will be very cozy.
That is a contradiction.
You should keep the partition and do not demolish it
Leave it as is and do light paint touchups and repair and not change much maybe add some kitchen counters in the kitchen and put a fridge and stove from that era back into it to match. I think it’s very livable.
Thank you for showing your new home. I'm sure, it will be very nice and cozy. I would not knock down the wall, because the boys need privacy too. In the smaller room you can place wardrobes or a table with chairs.

I like that idea. In my house we use that odd space for 2 house computers, used for gaming mostly :)

I'm sure Nastya you can make your apartment into a beautiful home 🏠 for you and your boys. Back in the 80's l lived in an old bungalow out the back of an elderly lady's home. I loved my little home with just one bedroom, kitchen and bathroom combined and an outdoor loo and lived there very happily for 7 years😊
I'm excited to see the renovations. Thank you for sharing
hi for the privacy i woulg give the kids your big bedroom and keep fpr myself the tiny one keeping the wall in between and in that unused space would put a build in wardrobe ! that s just my opinion. because the kids will grow up and you dont want to pass trought their romm all the time :).....
with vision and work, good people can build a life they are happy in. You will make it a Happy Home Nastya :)
Nastya, the apartament is great. When you renovate it, it will Look beautiful. Beautiful place for you and your sons❤
Welcome here one day!
Look forward to seeing your renovation.
How fun!! You should take us along as you do improvements. :) I have a question, If that is the boys room, wouldn't they want walls for privacy?
Yes this!
Going to be very nice when done. Love the large rooms and large windows. Can't wait to see it done.
Really looking forward to seeing this again, how lovely for you to have your home back again. All best wishes from the UK.
The apartment is your blank canvas to make it whatever you want. I’m sure it will be warm, beautiful and inviting when you’re done with it. ❤
That’s going to be a lot of work!! But I think it will be such a lovely cozy home when you’re finished! ❤😊
I hope so 😊
I think once you renovate it will be so lovely. I’m very happy for you and your sons that you will eventually have a place of your own. I also enjoyed all the beautiful sites you shared with us. I still can’t get over how clean the cities and even subways seem in Russia. Unfortunately the same can’t be said for cities int the U.S. Great video!
Looking forward to tours of those beautiful buildings and your new apartment renovation. I’m sure you’ll have it looking great. Congratulations!
Beautiful home! Feels like a great place for a new chapter.
Hi Nastya, from Tennessee.
Thanks for sharing your life with us. I really like your apartment, it holds lots of promise. Best wishes 🩷
Hi from Australia, your place looks like it has character!
Lovely, what does that mean exactly to you?
Lots of wonderful possibilities!!! Have fun with renovations!❤
This is going to be so nice after you have the work done. Congratulations!
I love your new apartment! Thank you for showing it. ❤
congratulations nastya💗🍂🩷🍁🫶🏻🤎🌻, and for creating new memories with your little family.
I like it! Would not tear any walls etc. Good fpr shelves or storage spaces.
Can't wait to see how you renovate your flat. I'm sure it will be fabulous!
I think it will be perfect once you finish it to your liking. Can’t wait to see it done.
Hello,
Thank you for showing us your life and apartment.
See you next vídeo.
From Brasil.
You are very beautiful and your presentations are so calming…There are so many similarities with my country, România. Novosybirsk is beautiful! Can’t wait to see the renovation! 😊
The place is scary right now. I’m sure you will make it lovely.
I love the vintage cabinet above the bathroom sink!
I loved this little history lesson! So interesting ☺️
I would keep the winter fridge and use it as a pantry, I think it was very clever to build like that.
I think it has potential! I can't wait to see it after the renovation!
I'm excited to see your renovations!
It's a wonderful space that will make a lovely home. The city looks beautiful too.😊
