Middle school is actually worse, uniforms and actual bullies,(students and teachers). While High school was way more fun, didn't even see any bulling and most have passed perverty
“Zero tolerance rules” are stupid I seen a kid not fight back while getting jumped and he still got the same punishment as the people who literally stomped the living shit out of him
Lmao I remember that i asked my teacher “if im literally being beaten to a bloody pulp by someone can i fight back” and she looked at me dead in the eyes and deadass said “no just get a teacher” this is our school system.
AdmiralSyn yea my mama always said if you get into a situation where the only answer is to defend yourself, do it. She also said she would have my back if I got into trouble because of it
My friend was helping a kid having a seizure get outside while the ambulance was coming (cause the nurses was locked lmao) and got detention for “missing class” :|
Oh yeah and that teacher tracked my friend down to guidance (where they were trying to calm her own self down after watching a kid almost die) and screamed at her out in the halls even after the counselor explained the situation
Forget taking a _dump_ at school, I didn't even take a _piss_ at school. Also I had a sociopath "friend" who pissed in the _sink_ for no comprehensible reason. School is like an asylum with regular people mixed in.
Same... The problem is that in a lot of work places, there is very similar bullying but it's much more subtle. Things like not giving you a promotion, but instead giving you more tasks to do. Or some either ignoring you or being passive aggressive. Luckily, I had some amazing colleagues at my last job. I wish I had the courage to call them or visit them. Still, the assholes I met really did destroy my spirits again.
I won't miss a thing. Not one person. Not one teacher nor subject. Once I'm in uni I'll find some things to be more enjoyable than right now, but as of now I've got nothing good tethering me to my school.
School was somewhat better in the past, everything was better in the past, they think they miss school, they actually miss being young and better times and they associate these things with school
I’d LITERALLY rather have my left arm stop working (without it breaking/hurting) but don’t have to go to school for the rest of my life than spend one more second in this hell hold.
A group of guys in my school blocked the outside of the bathroom once. They were making sure this one kid could shit himself properly (the stalls' locks were broken). Good guys. Miss em.
For real. I don't even have to hold it in anymore because everything is online, and I still end up waiting 6 hours before using the restroom. Its that natural
hold what in exactly? Bc that could mean a looooooot of things. we're talkin' - Baby Gravy - Repressed Rage - ur gut bc all those cafeteria pizza's you gourged on bc there's only 2 decent entrees each week - or the tried and true golden rain/ Cosby Kids.
And then going 'well it doesn't affect the kids so they're safe!' .... yeah but about what the family they go home to? They only JUST recently twigged onto that after a year, lol, and they're still like 'eh, too late now, most of them will be dead because we're stupid, they have nothing to worry about'.
Honestly, thing that I hated the most were the classmates. I tried, I really tried, but I just didn't fit in with them man. So I had to go every single day to deal with people who didn't give 2 damns about my existence, I'm so happy I'm out
I want to leave the school so bad I cant trust anyone in the school even my "best friend" they keep lying/bring suffer to me everyday and im the shortest but i sit in the back and when i asked the teacher said u cant change ur place after the first day of school
I know I tried so hard to make friends in high school and no one seemed to care or notice. The only people I enjoyed being around were the teachers. If it weren’t for them I really don’t know how depressed I would be now.
When I was in school some kid pulled out a knife and came at me to be scary. I pushed him away and he starts crying like a soccer player. And you know what happened to me? I got suspended for using unnecessary violence to resolve a conflict because there was no proof that he started it. You know, even though there were cameras and witnesses everywhere.
My school got us EVERY week to go to this assembly talking about bullying and how to stop it blah blah blah social interaction classes essentially except they were assemblies. But surprise-surprise, it did nothing. Who would've guessed. And it's not like it was purely intended as a social interaction class, it was meant to stop bullying. While I wouldn't consider it "bullying" per say. I'm sure many students older than me did get beaten up.
Yeah, I don't even pee during school hours 'cause public bathrooms are an atrocity to the entire multiverse, so the moment I get home my body immediately goes from "you can go a few more hours" to "you're going to piss yourself in seconds"
@@nmheath03 i straight up didn't drink anything until i get home because people would stare at you above the stalls if you took a dump or went for a pee.
I remember dealing with my bully in middle school, smacked him across the face and he goes down crying, yeah I got suspended, but my dad was proud that I defended myself, and that's what matters to me.
schools like to pretend that they are the most important thing in the world. they act like you need to know what you’re going to do by the age of 15, and once you choose those subjects you’re stuck in that path for life. in reality, you’ll change careers multiple times in your life, and it’ll take you a while to find what you enjoy. it’s taken me years of therapy to figure that one out. not to mention that they act like you’ll end up homeless if you get anything below a C. high school fucked me up, i dropped out as soon as i could.
So true! I have graduated 2 years ago and I barely started college because I was so lost. Now i believe to have found something that I'd like to do but cannot started before fall 2022 since it is a new program. Im just writing this to lwt others know this: it is okay to take a break after highschool. It is okay to go or not go to college/uni. And finally it is also okay to be older than the average age in your class, you won't be seen as a loser and nobody will care (after highschool people seriously dont care trust me) Oh and don't feel ashamed to change your course, a lot of people change and figure themselves out during that time so no worries!
Being the kid with ADHD at Highschool was the worst because the teachers genuinely believed all my issues was that I was "Smart but lazy and unfocused" so I would get twice the punishment since they "Saw potential".
I dont have ADHD (not that I know of) but I'm also lazy and unfocused. I'm "smart" but I can't stand still and focus on doing homework :(. so that's relatable.
"yeah we think you hav great potential in you to learn and get your grades up, go to college, all that good stuff!" "you have detention for a week" but timmy did the same thing as me and only got a day! *silence child, torturing my students is the only joy i get anymore*
Legit was bullied every day in middle school and complained every day, but my school every month had a stop bullying campaign and I hate to watch these fuckers pretend to care while I literally had bruises all over me from daily harassment
I remember my dad saying "if they bully you, fight back Hit them in the head and knock them out Then I'll tell the teacher that it's a personal thing, to not do anything to you as I want to punish you in a way you'll remember, then after I exit school I'll give you a high five and you'll tell me how it went" He's such a cool guy
One of the girls in my class got suspended because she walked into the bathroom after the vaping girls walked out and the teacher thought she was the one vaping. There was no evidence, no proof, but they still suspended her.
and she didn't say, "bruh, vapes are stupid as hell, I'm not like those dweebs who just drowned the air in the bathroom before i took a piss"? Missed opportunity.
@Baldhina Asnake It's the same as smoking but way less lethal. Kids try it out of curiosity or following a trend and get addicted to nicotine, they get protected like victims but you can't be so gullible if you're 16
@@Starwars0405-b4o Yes, but there are much higher posibilites of that if you smoke ciggaretes, vaping is an alternative for smokers who don't want to die but are already addicted to nicotine
@@hhhhhhhhhhhhhhh-Mikel.Montalat Nope, Vaping is still pretty bad for you. Actually, I hear it's WORSE for you than smoking, but I don't know a lot about the subject so take that with a grain of salt.
i was blamed for being bullied because "when you fight back they won't let you alone" and "they don't like you because you don't talk and you don't even try getting friends"
If you go to the teacher's not only will they not do shit. But uour social life takes a hit because you'd be known as a "snitch", or a "pussy who didn't fight back and went to the teacher".
Surprisingly uhhhhhhhhhh. I befreinded a bully once. Sometimes it is true that the bullied become the bullies. That jerk defended me when I was surrounded by a bunch of worse jerks and yeah we became friends after that. There not ALWAYS wrong...
Middle school was worse for me. It had all the issues knee caps said in the video, and it's when you go through the most awkward part of puberty. It also had a shit ton of homework. I would get home around 3:40, and get done with my homework past 10:00. My high school on the other hand has chill and understanding teachers that you can actually talk to and laugh with. Pretty much nothing happens in the bathroom except the rare case of vandalism. The work load is heavily reduced, but I still have to work to 10:00 on rare occasions. Bullying is dealt with pretty well. Fights are extremely rare. Only witnessed one and heard about another within the 2 years I've been there. There's freedom with choosing classes (including a game programming class that I got for the last semester of last school year. God damn it, corona, I loved that class).
Me Uses smartphone: Wow what depression? (Worked for me) If you are depressed, YOUR NOT ALONE! THERES HELP CALL YOUR FRIENDS, DO ACTIVITIES, IF ITS SERIOUS CALL HELP IMMEDIATELY! YOU ARE WORTH IT! :)
Remember young ladies, gents and homies, if you repeatedly tell a teacher that a bully is being physical with you and they refuse to do anything about it, threaten to call the cops and make it a big deal
I threatened to call the cops and then got pushed down and then got threatened to be knifed while walking home. Then "I was a bitch" for having all staff watch me walk from class to class. I was a smaller 7th grader who didn't hit puberty exactly and it was these two huge guys who got held back who were doing this.
The worst part of high school is not only do they treat introverts like they have some sort of mental illness, but also the fact you can actually get in trouble for expressing your stress/frustration to the teaching or even just sighing in front of them. Meanwhile, kids getting beaten to a bloody pulp go completely unnoticed.
I'm sure if there's blood, only way they don't get noticed is if they're actively trying to cover up blood. If you're bloodied, not only would a teacher notice, the principle, and the local law enforcement would too. No. 1 question: Home life 2: school (idk why this is usually second) btw, if you're an introvert, the internet exists, you're fine. Itroversy was a problem before the internet existed but it's not addressed now bc we have options.
Its a touch easier if you are recognized as having a disability, nearly got a teacher fired over screwing up my grades because "I didn't talk enough". It's kind of hard to talk as much as you wish when you stutter a lot,no?
My father is a teacher at a public university though it is a really good university he says that in there the students can complain if the teacher is incompetent and get him kicked out if enough of the class shares the thought but in my current school pretty much all the teachers are complete idiots I wouldn’t say they are bad teachers they are just not any good as high school teachers the only half way decent one is the maths teacher and in truth I have always gotten along with math teachers even one of the family friends is a maths teacher anyways I have said many times that many of the teachers are incompetent at their current positions but could make better use of their personalities as other teachers for other grades and every time I have been threatened with expulsion another thing I hate is having the owner’s son for a classmate and he is more entitled and an spoiled brat than all of the other spoiled brats I have met and the worst part is he cannot fail grades thanks to an infinite amount of nepotism his parents let him pass even with his entire backpack of books has nothing written on it other than 2 wrongly spelled answers
there was a problem with mental health in my elementary school, actually. if you had any sort of negative emotion, you were a selfish kid and sometimes even forced to say everything in front of the entire class. then kids would make fun of you because you are "an attention seeker" and therefore, a terrible person. elementary school. i dont personally think a bunch of 3rd graders, whom most have family/home issues, or some sort of mental illness, should be yelled at and told that they are being a bad person because they started crying.
I was homeschooled till 8th grade lol. I wasn't sad because I was being relentlessly bullied, embarrassed, tormented or stressed out constantly, I was just sad cause I was lonely as shit. It wasn't great but you can decide which is better haha
The White Boy Next Door luckyyy mine was always full of five year olds and literally nothing else. i don’t doubt that it’d be great with an actually well built community haha
Honestly same. My confidence has been at an all time high, I learned to take a step back and not stress all the time, I don’t break down over any grade that isn’t an A. I’m just happier overall. After moving past some family stuff. The pandemic and being able to do online school, was the best thing for my mental health.
My kid ass was fed all these slice of life animes and Disney movies going "oh man high school will be great man you'll have the most pleasant memories there" Only to be LIED to.
It is rather disappointing getting to highschool only to realize that you don't get to sing and dance every 10 minutes or make friends with everyone. My parents told me that highschool would be the best time of my life and now that I'm in 11th grade, all I wanna do is be rid of it. Expectations vs reality
And imagine that at mx school, if we were on the edge of the highest floor they could throw you down to the bottom if they were strong enough. Yep. My school has a "cube of emptiness" in the middle. The use for it is probably so that all classes can see presentations at the same time, but geez, if you fear heights you'll hate being on the 2nd floor of that school.
one time i was minding my business in english class and all of the sudden everybody hears shoes squeaking and somebody getting the absolute shit beaten out of them and the guy who beat the other guy up claimed that he beat him up because he was stealing his stuff or something and the school suspended the guy who got beaten up for stealing (they also suspended the guy who actually beat him up but there was literally no proof that he stole his stuff)
The low-self esteem part was me from 1st grade until 5th grade, then the deppression and anxiety part was me from 6th grade up until the begining of 8th grade
same. it sure is hard having a huge fear of embarrassment when all teachers seem to do is make you speak publicly and participate in mandatory sports tournaments
My elemantary school bathrooms looked like goddamn blood ritual shrines. I dont know why but girls would just leave pads, tampons and bloody toiled paper on the ground. What eldritch horror were they trying to summon?
@@ErutaniaRose I'm a bit cofused of everyone's reaction. Maybe i forgot schools work diffrent everywhere. In my country elementry has 8 classes with kids from 7 to 14 years old. Most girls start their period at around 12. Or maybe it's the exaggeration. Bathrooms were clean most of the time, but from time to time i find them filled with bloodied toilet paper around the stalls or pads on the floor instead of trash can. Plus i guess some of those 200 menstruating girls had to decide it was the most hilarious thing and started to copycat
I had a girl who harassed me for 3 quarters of the year in middle school and eventually I had enough. So I confronted her fought her and took so much of her hair out, she had to keep it up and get hair extensions to cover her bald spot. It looked like that girl who pulled her hair out with the corn and drill. We both got suspended but she couldn't go on her class trip I could. We are both adults now, last year she was on the news for abusing dogs at a kennel. I guess once a bully always a bully.
Nice. I wish I was as brave as you were. In elementary, there was this girl who wouldn't stop harassing me. I told the teacher thousands of times, but she didn't do anything, just told her to apologise. Though I remember one of my friends standing up to her friend who was also a bully. All he did was call her a nasty name, and then almost the entire class gathered around him, and began punching, kicking, insulting him, throwing garbage at him, tearing up his textbooks... Since I didn't want to be next, I just stayed silent, didn't react to her, and she just progressively got bored and stopped doing it so often. I still feel shame for allowing myself to be a punching bag. Luckily, her hits were so weak that I didn't feel any physical pain.
I recently revealed the genders of my two girlfriends. It got a lot of hate and now has 30 times more dislikes than likes. I am really sad that people can be so mean. Sorry for using your comment to talk about my problems, dear kik
I've not been there to witness this at my school (I'm far too anxious to use the restroom at school) but I've heard stories about this happening. In class a group of girls will just casually be chattn' about it. Although, to be fair, this has also happened with the guys' although not as frequently, so i've been told.
i should've learned the no shitting in the bathroom rule early. in middle school, me and this girl from my soccer team went to the bathroom together. she was fixing her hair, and i was taking a shit. she starts laughing and goes "wait, are you pooping?" and i was like "...yeah, so?" and then she just kept laughing. and yet, i ignored this red flag of shitting in the bathroom, ignored the foreshadowing in the Poop arc of the story that is my life (rated very badly on MAL). I continued to shit in the school bathroom, albeit more cautiously now (my shits were quicker and more ninja-like--i would disguise the *plorps* that my meatballs made in the toilet water in loud sounds such as the bell ringing, the sink running, etc.) fast forward to freshman year of high school. i believe that i'm all alone in this bathroom after school. i'm changing in the stall, getting ready for a soccer game, when i realize that i'm nervous. and, for me, being nervous equals extensive shitting. so, i plop my ass on the toilet seat and the dumping begins. just as i'm getting out my last turd, 2 girls come in the bathroom. i realize they are seniors from my soccer team, and i am very not good at talking to them already. because of my previous soccer girl related experience in the bathroom when i was shitting, i quickly lift my feet off of the ground so they can't see that i'm in the stall, and then clench my ass cheeks for dear life. they stayed in that bathroom for at least 5 minutes, changing and gossiping in the stalls directly next to mine, checking their braids and ponytails in the mirror. all the while, i've created a new olympic event, one that involved the core of my being--for all of that time, through the power of teenage anxiety and dread, i kept my feet off of the floor, all the while holding in the literal shitstorm between the perilous cracks in my ass. just as i thought i was doomed, the girls left, their cleats stomping off through the door and down the hallway until they faded into the oblivion. i waited a solid 5 extra minutes just to make sure they were really gone (it was easier now that i could put my feet back down on the ground) and then i let the tsunami rip into the poor toilet bowl. from that day forward, i learned the no shitting in the bathroom rule and i learned it well. every time i felt the need to empty my chocolate mush into the nearest receptacle, i was reminded of my traumatic experiences, and would ditch the idea (or, on very rare occasions, i would proceed to the bathroom and do my business with utmost caution. this was only in cases of emergency). i wish our society could change--perhaps, in the future, frequent shitters like myself can liberate ourselves from this mortal coil of public bathrooms, and finally, we can throw off our pants and poop with pride. but alas, we do not live in that world. thank god i'm out of high school.
Soopa Poopa the only thing that is underrated is the amount of primal fear we should innately have if the idea to poop in a public bathroom pops into our brains. every day more and more children experience social trauma due to them unknowingly breaking the no-shitting rule. please spread the word and help the helpless
TLDR: If high school taught me one thing, it’s how to spot fake friends you know how in elementary school, you’re basically best friends with everyone, it didn’t matter who you were, everyone could play cops and robbers and eat gold fish in prosperity. Then middle school starts happening and slowly these barriers known as “Cliques” start forming and the people you once thought you were cool with are disowning you. Your circle of friends start to shrink. Then high school happens and you gain a lot of friends, but in reality only have 2 or 4 friends cause the rest are Fake Snakes.
TLDR: Same This is very true, a lot of the kids from my elementary school went to middle school with me, and all the sudden they just stopped talking to me, I stayed with some but it was never the same. I remember being so stoked to have old friends come to middle school with me but once I got there, there was some of them that I never talked to ever again after the first day The only thing that I still think about that is "Why?"
Most likely since it's a closed space and also more private to stay away from school staff. It's a solution to that but it fucks over literally anyone else
Honestly to fight and maybe speak about some drama I've never liked the drama stuff but fighting was something I was cool with mainly because my childhood wasn't good other kids were there because they think they were cool but it was clearly just a front they put up it's some loser ass shit but I just wanted an excuse to fight someone
Can someone tell me why the "someone shitting in the bathroom" thing seems to transcend culture and exist in like every school. Everyone I've ever talked to says they've experienced that shit at their school.
As long as ur a kindergartener u are safe from this bathroom rule. Beside that everyone will try to see who's taking a shit mainly to bully u for it or fuck with u while taking a shit because kids are crual especially at school.
Yes, Anyone who would dare to shit in the bathroom we would throw wet soup filled paper towels to their stupid ass. It's only the natural thing to do. Eat or get eaten.
I don’t even care about the emotional anguish of being in school. The worst thing is that you spend 12 years of your life to learn almost absolutely nothing of value. No financial literacy, no info on how to do taxes, no info on the legal system, no info on how to look for a job or negotiate your salary or contracts. Basically nothing that you’d actually need to survive/succeed in the real world. But thank god I had to do physics, chemistry, algebra & geometry for 5 years. Gonna come in handy when I’ll be trying to break out if prison after getting locked up for filing my taxes wrong.
Drivers Ed is literally a choice you can take and it only lasts half the year. Something you do EVERY SINGLE DAY. No wonder there are so many bad drivers.
Over summer I have learned more and more important stuff ON MY OWN. What’s more important. Learning for the 3rd time the events of the American Revolution or learning how to code AI. Hint: it’s the one with extremely useful future applications not the one that’s already literal old news.
H. H. Maybe brainwashing is a bit rash but I do know that school was built as a method to train people to be good factory workers. It’s intention was never to teach people facts or how to learn. It’s probably why schools have the most absurdist strict rules. (Like why is it that if you’re 3 seconds late to class you must waste 1 hour of your life)
They should really put more useful things in school like how to get a job, laws, human rights, and other things that you will actually need to know more than five times. Math is probably the only practical thing you learn. *Maybe* science to know a few things but really you won't need to know that stuff more than maybe 10 times. Drivers Ed is practical but it should really be taught like a regular class instead of learning how to do fancy shit while you read a book. Do you want to know geography so that you can know where places and things are? No, go learn the same exact thing you've been learning for the last week because we don't think you get it yet even though you've learned it for five days straight. Instead of trying to make us learn the same thing over and over again so that the class lasts the whole year, why not teach us more stuff that we want to know and not how to do shit we don't care about.
Damn, imagine getting reccomended a video saying high school is horrible literally a day before you start high school. Feeling real optimistic right now.
I hate going to school cause it feels forced there are other ways to become successful than sit in a chair for 2 hours learning stuff that im not going to really use anytime in the future. Like why do I need to learn the Pythagorean theorem or pemdas

For me high school was pretty alright, but middle school was absolutely abysmal. In middle school you’re in this weird no-man’s land where you are mature enough to somewhat act reasonably, but the teachers still treat you like you learned how to walk 3 minutes before you walked through the door.
God middle school is the worst. There was so much drama and immaturity over the littlest shit and no one gave a shit about the shit people went through, including teachers.

All school trauma is forever. But I've been wondering for myself, is it really trauma when it's literally been just the school life? It's just life. It's as natural as being disabled from birth, it just how the world is and you just gotta like or lump it and if I can't get over it that's my problem, I shouldn't have been born disabled obvs lol. It's not like it's been nearly 15 years since middle school or anything.

@@Roadent1241 Bro, don't talk like that. It's never just one person's fault, life's never that simple. The only thing you're responsible for is your actions afterwards. We can't take responsibility for our feelings and we can't control them, so it's completely fine to hurt. Trauma is not a competition and can't be measured. Just because people might have it "worse" does not mean your feelings aren't valid. We all take things differently, so if it hurt you, even if it wouldn't hurt you nowadays, it's still valid. Getting dumped wouldn't mean much for me while other people cry for months on end- they just take things differently. You weren't just a wimp for feeling hurt, as insignificant as the reason it might seem now. What happened, happened and you couldn't change a thing about it. You wouldn't be the same person today without it, for better or worse. If you're unhappy, you can still work for that happiness. So, please don't put yourself down over feeling a certain way.
Teacher: "If you have any questions, raise your hand." Student: *Couldn't understand what was taught so badly, they don't know where to start in questioning* Teacher: "I'm gonna assume you all understand what was taught since no one raised their hand"
I mean thats not fully their fault in that case. They're relying on someone to honestly tell them they just didn't understand a thing. Trouble is, most are scared that they'll be slagged cause they "didn't listen"
OR teacher: "if you have any questions, raise your hand." student: *didn't quite understand the concept, raises hand to ask questions* teacher: "i assume your hand is raised because you weren't paying attention."
In middle school whenever started talking too fast and ask if we have questions. I would slowly raise my hand bcz I don’t understand her, however as soon as my hand goes a bit above my shoulder, some classmates start to stare which caused me to get nervous and drop my hand. But then the teacher notices and asks me what Idk, making my neck burn and then hold back tears of embarrassment later quickly making the excuse of I forgot. The teachers ends the conversation with “ the stare” and I can hear the 2 most annoying kids at the back lightly laughing. When the period quickly rush to the cleanest stall and cry while standing up quietly also while erasing the entire moment from your mind. P.S sorry for the long reply have a good day!
I haven't been suspended, but I've had both happen to me, I learned to just ignore shit and actively avoid people. Edit: By both, I mean getting in trouble for defending myself (lunch detention, morning detention, after school detention, or a mix of the three).
I got my life threatened and rocks thrown at me in broad daylight with teachers in eyesight and hundreds of witnesses. They never did anything and I have ptsd from it. I am autistic and the amount of ableist teachers I've had is disgusting.
It's honestly disgusting how all kids are treated in school, but especially ones with any form of disability, cognitive or otherwise. Plus the schools are so far up their own a$$'s that they falsely diagnose kids with "learning disabilities" (over-reporting of ADHD, and such) that they don't have so they can get more $$$ instead of helping students who actually have physical and mental disabilties. They don't want anyone to be handicapable, just a cash cow. I have a lot of friends who are mentally and physically handicapable, and while I don't have it to the same degree, it really pisses me off how they treat kids with anything, and the false diagnosis hurt the people who actually have that diagnosis for real. Like...they don't care. They never will. Honestly.
I'm honestly surprised I never got assaulted, but that still didn't stop people from bullying me. I have a lot of problems I'm still unwrapping from the ableism I've experienced throughout my life. Stay strong my fellow Autist.
Same here friend... I remembered I was threatened by one of the students... For giving his pen back... My English Teacher (God Bless Her Soul for dealing with my classmates) was only the one who saw this and was shocked for someone reacting like that for giving a pen back... And worse of all it was at a Christian School. Lets just say school was the reason why I was depressed. Like there are some students that are genuinely nice but most are just... Awful even some of my ex friends because awful to be around with.
There are several teachers that I have met outside of highschool since I graduated. I've never felt so good in my entire life after saying these things to them.
@@mynameisreallycool1 You get alot of closure for it. No longer being obligated to respect them within school boundaries allows you to criticize them on how they do there job. A large majority of my teachers focus on more smarter and successful students and then wonder why there classes are failing.
Most of my school teachers were nice, but there was this one completely insane evil chemistry teacher, who spent lessons talking insane nonsense ("aliens won WW2"), then tested us on shit she didn't teach us. I once went back to the school and found out she was replaced with a new teacher, I bumped into the replacement and the new chemistry teacher was like "man your previous teacher must have been a total nut, the lab was destroyed when I got in" and it felt so validating.
Well I never waited to finish highschool inorder to publicly judge my teachers; I've always been blunt and strait to the point, any unprofessional behavior I saw in any teacher, I would loudly point them out, their use of the appeal to authority arguments were so cliche and intellectually boring.
School has made me believe that I am a stupid and generally unlikable person. It’s probably not true, but it’s what I’ve been convinced of for 8 years. It’s gonna be pretty hard to undo that lol
One of my worst memories from school was when this kid in the special ed class kept harassing and assaulting me, and when I went to the counselor all she said was “oh he has special needs he doesn’t know what he’s doing just let it be for now” Just because a kid has special needs does NOT excuse the fact that they are hitting and insulting you
At my old school, they said that they had “zero tolerance for bullying,” but when you reported bullying to a supervisor or teacher, they would just say: Oh I’ll talk to them. And then they never even spoke to the kid. Like what the fuck??
@@ze0rock For real, and it was especially worse because my school was super sexist, racist, homophobic and transphobic. One supervisor almost got two girls in trouble for holding hands while walking to class once, and they weren’t even in a relationship, but the next day she didn’t even bat an eye when she saw a straight couple literally making out. I’m just glad I don’t go there anymore.
I was framed as being a bully for years when really I was the one that got bullied. The only reason anything stopped was that some kid fell while trying to push me down something, cracked his head open, and everyone thought I pushed him. (He is okay now, doing well in Directing, and I have forgiven him since, but still...that $hit was dark.)
In my old middle school the staff used to say I. Y. P. "it's your problem". A classmate of mine was beaten to a pulp and was in a coma for two bloody weeks only to be notified he was suspended for destroying school property upon awaking from it because apparently the wall his head was repeatedly bashed into now had a dent in it.

Can we just make public bathrooms in general more private. I don't want some dude jumping over or even crawling on the floor under the stalls just to watch and laugh at me taking a deuce.
"Crawling on the floor under the stalls just to watch" that happened to me once when I was in Pre-K (by a kid who was my age of course), and it has traumatized me since. I'm sure it would worse to have a high school student do that though.
In primary school the bathroom was unisex and you couldn't even lock the door and some boy opened it on me (I'm a girl) and just stared for a couple seconds and left it's been over a decade and I'm still mortified
In my school I got bullied for being quite, then for being gay, then for being autistic, then for being born with a bald spot in my head. The teachers were so mature that they said it was my fault not the bullies.

Elementary: wow school isnt that bad i can talk to friends Middle: well this is pretty shitty now i have depression lite High: oh. That was underplayed to me.
Middle school was a lot worse for me imo. Everyone in my high school is chill and mature and I'm very well respected. Compare that to middle school, where teachers would expect you to be mature despite treating you like a child. As such, the only logical thing to do in middle school was a mix of maturity and immaturity: attempt murder. In my opinion, everything that he described in this video encapsulated middle school more than high school.
I was in the girls bathroom and the inside of a stall door someone wrote "love yourself!" "How am I supposed to love myself when my whole life I was told to give up my own happiness to love others?" "Shut up and go the bathroom"

@@avalon3821 Quick tips to survive freshman year: You're the bottom of the food-chain, don't stand out, but if someone else is being picked on by someone else it's super ez to aim for the balls bc they'll be focused on their target. and if you're the guy who stood up to a bully, only 2 scenarios can play out. Ppl fear you, bullies target you. If you get targeted, use your phone to take pictures of the assailants whenever you see them in class and give image-evidence to teachers and tell them what they said to you. If it's group fighting you're worried about, remember they're gonna be focused on hitting u and not eachother, so if you run to a populated area and avoid 1vthem situations, you can cause in-fighting fairly easily. Also don't ignore someone else being targetted, that's the wrong play bc the next person that could get picked on is u, and if everyone adopts the mindset of see nothing do nothing; You're all targets
I’ve actually conditioned myself to never do something that can make me feel positive so when school rolls around my self esteem doesn’t diminish and so i always have a mutual feeling
School: When you grow up, you'll be an engineer, a technician, a factory worker, a miner, a poet, a mathematician, a historian, a firefighter, a soldier, and a plumber, so specialise in all of these and spend your time learning the skills required for all of em
I got to be honest, why not just have kids fill out what job they want, you should be able to change class or subjects at any time if you change your mind on what job you want, and then just specialize in a few classes. Why am I going to need French if I want to become a engineer in the UK. Why do I need to take Pe if I want to become a Maths or English teacher. Why should I learn Physics if I want to become a historian. What's the point of forcing me to do Cooking and textile classes, something I can just look up on the internet at home, Same with French, and Spanish, and Pe ect ect.
Schools should just teach you about how to live your life like learning how to do taxes, or how to get a job, and such. After the basics you should focus on a type of career you want to learn.

High/secondary school in general honestly feels like a fever dream to me at this point. British schools rarely get bullies, you just meet a lot of dickheads but nothing too interesting. School wasn’t hellish for me, just extremely boring. You’d be lonely or tired half of the time. Feels like the friends i made and teachers i had didnt really exist. The worst part of school was requiring certain credits. My school required me to have an art credit to graduate and put me into a beginner's art class that I failed because I'm so artistically inept.
I'm pretty okay at art and get some pretty good grades but on the final project (which was like 30% of your final grade) i got a 1.1 because the person i was working with started a fight so they decided to punish me along with him for "not stopping him" and fucked my final grade.

I got kicked by some random kid I kid you not the teacher said word for word “Sometimes people get kicked” Another time he called one of my friends fat Teachers did a whole “oh no anyways”
In middle school there was a kid that bullied me for 5 years , and everytime they said "we can't do anything about it" he did something that could pretty much be called rape to me (we're both boys) and they did nothing . Plus the fact that if you defend yourself you get punished , most times more than the bully.
Shoulda stuck to cyber bullying, harder to get caught, especially if u use an anonymous account and spam them on all social media "GOTEMMMMMMM" Don't actually do this, self defense categories are single vital hits, toes, fingers, balls, hair. i put my hand on a girls shoulder because she was at the drinking fountain for over 5 min. she gasps VERY lodly, runs to a teacher, and tells him i punched her. funny thing is that she was the vanessa of the school. plus the teachers dont look at evidence for kids unless they are"trouble makers". so when she told him i punched her i got suspended, but they didnt listen when i told them i didnt, and after the suspension when i told one of the teachers what happened, they convinced the other teachers to look at the camera footage. they were like oh i guess he was right and called me and the girl in and just told her not to say things like that. didnt even get crap for what she did. and then i was told not to get in others personal space when litteraly they over look any student that hits, kisses or straight up trips someone. do you know trailridge gardner edgerton middle school?

What my highschool conditioned me to do: 1) If you get beat up, you get suspended / expelled for fighting. Visible bruises = you threw punches. So if a kid just minding his business gets sucker punched while on his way to an AP class, guess what, he is the one getting suspended. Thank Zero Tolarance policies for that one. 2) If you seek help because you were getting bullied or attacked, you get ignored or lectured as to why making "false" accusations is bad. Additionally, they may turn the tables on you and say that this is an admission of violance and start the process to expell you. Now, I find it difficult to seek assistance in the real world because of this experence. It didn't help that the school's on-site police were just as bad. Funny how that is constructed in a way as if there was a pipe-line of sorts. 3) Your opinons don't matter unless you're a young and attractive girl - I'll let your imagination run with that one. 4) Corruption. So many cut corners to save and even make a buck off record. From canceled classes, programs, and electives, to hiring vulgar and/or untrained teachers and subsitutes who do nothing or act just as bad as the bullies. Some where even caught dealing drugs or even physically assulting students but no action was taken aganst them. This is when I knew the US education system is beyond repair and I would have to learn everything elsewhere. 5) Covert racism and xenophobia. While my highschool has students from all over with a majority of Asian descent such as myself, there was a push by the admins and staff to ignore lessons about other cultures and languages if not outright cancelling them. Cultural festivals were axed, language classes were shortened, history was propaganda, and the only blatant display of this xenophobia was when the principal required the visiting Japanese students to only speak english while on school grounds and not to engage in any "foreign customs or act in a non-standard manner". The exchange program was eventually suspended. - The only takeaway I got was how all of this got reversed when a new admin stepped in after a botched truancy crackdown that practically suspended the entire school for showing up "late". Basically, they got rid of the 30-minute grace period between the first bell and the start of the first class for a week. It was a disaster. Especially since the students they were targeting didn't even show up in the first place. Many parents were pissed as they saw the shitshow unfolded. Some even sued. All in all, my experience with highschool in the US is that of absolute misery. At least the silver lining here is that yes, grades don't matter, your ability to survive does. I know at least one classmate who flunked out big time and is now making bank working as an engineer at Tesla. A last laugh to those "adults" who made him litteraly suicidal back then.
I saw a story of a school sending girls home for wearing shorts one week and the next week claiming they had no way to enforce mask wearing among students

Now I’ve graduated high school in 2020 and I feel like a shell of my former self, nowhere near as optimistic and I never feel like being challenged. I still talk to people like friends and family members, but most of the time I just want to be left alone. Luckily as the years went on I learned a lot about the school and kids and what hallways to take and when to leave so I dont have to be near anybody and stuff like that, so basically 10th grade got easier 11th grade got easier and now 12th grade is going to be super easy cause im going to be online and I dont have to be with people. In PE we had to play volley ball with a big red ball and when we were playing some kid hit the ball so hard and it hit my face and it made such a loud noise, everybody was looking at me and laughing and I just had to stand there and take it, then the coach kept asking me if I was ok and I wanted him to shut up cause it was just making it more embarrassing and he kept asking on and on and everybodys eyes were on me, I hated that day so much, the only thing that I was thinking of to try and make myself less embarrassed was call of duty ww2 cause at the time I think it was 1 day before release
It can be pretty scary, I am graduating this year so I would rather finish how I started, but I can see how starting online would be more comforting to freshmen. It isn’t so bad if you buckle down and get your work done, having friends was nice but I always found that mine were fake and would mock me for being a workaholic, they would spill their drama on me and then ignore me if I was having a rough day. It sucked but in the end, I probably wont see any of these people again once I graduate. Junior year was my hardest because of SATs and teachers really pushing for college stuff, it was a mess. Sophomore year was pretty okay, it felt like freshman year because I had moved from another state, it was easy only because my previous high school was hard. When walking through hallways I recommend walking fast and taking detours where there are less people, even if the detour is a bit longer. They are animals out there I swear-. Teachers don’t want to be there either, get your work done and pay attention, you will be fine, in my current school studying isn’t so important, you can look over your notes before the test and be fine, but at my previous STEM school studying in a prep period or at lunch was necessary to pass a test. Taking the harder classes is not important! If you want to that is okay, but you can take normal classes and get the same credits with less work. Several teachers I had said they took all the honors classes they could and got no further than any teacher that didn’t. High school is hard enough as it is, don’t need honors classes added onto that. My final advice is sit up straight, my back is killing me from slouching so much ;P Good luck kid! Keep your head up and get your work done, you will be fine. It doesn’t last forever.
Getting in fights, having classmates kill themselves and die in car wrecks, then losing my grandparents right after graduation fucked me up. I was a mess until 30 trying to put my life together from the trauma.

I continued to shit in the school bathroom, albeit more cautiously now (my shits were quicker and more ninja-like--i would disguise the *plorps* that my meatballs made in the toilet water in loud sounds such as the bell ringing, the sink running, etc.)
fast forward to freshman year of high school. i believe that i'm all alone in this bathroom after school. i'm changing in the stall, getting ready for a soccer game, when i realize that i'm nervous. and, for me, being nervous equals extensive shitting. so, i plop my ass on the toilet seat and the dumping begins. just as i'm getting out my last turd, 2 girls come in the bathroom. i realize they are seniors from my soccer team, and i am very not good at talking to them already. because of my previous soccer girl related experience in the bathroom when i was shitting, i quickly lift my feet off of the ground so they can't see that i'm in the stall, and then clench my ass cheeks for dear life. they stayed in that bathroom for at least 5 minutes, changing and gossiping in the stalls directly next to mine, checking their braids and ponytails in the mirror. all the while, i've created a new olympic event, one that involved the core of my being--for all of that time, through the power of teenage anxiety and dread, i kept my feet off of the floor, all the while holding in the literal shitstorm between the perilous cracks in my ass. just as i thought i was doomed, the girls left, their cleats stomping off through the door and down the hallway until they faded into the oblivion. i waited a solid 5 extra minutes just to make sure they were really gone (it was easier now that i could put my feet back down on the ground) and then i let the tsunami rip into the poor toilet bowl.
from that day forward, i learned the no shitting in the bathroom rule and i learned it well. every time i felt the need to empty my chocolate mush into the nearest receptacle, i was reminded of my traumatic experiences, and would ditch the idea (or, on very rare occasions, i would proceed to the bathroom and do my business with utmost caution. this was only in cases of emergency). i wish our society could change--perhaps, in the future, frequent shitters like myself can liberate ourselves from this mortal coil of public bathrooms, and finally, we can throw off our pants and poop with pride. but alas, we do not live in that world.
thank god i'm out of high school.

Adults: High school is the best years of your life
Me: Dang your life must suck
Yes so help me of that will ever be the highlight of my life.

"Did someone really have the audacity to use the bathroom the way its suppose to be used"?
-Highschoolers
I have weird luck where no one notices me use the bathroom
I really didn't care tbh, i took my shit and left in glory what are they gonna do
Every time the teacher's announced something bad happen in the bathroom's every student would either verbally laugh or cheer in unison. Felt like the whole building would rumble. One thing we can all find unified joy in.
Literally happened to me. I was the quiet one who was nice to everyone and minded my own business. I got suspended for defending myself once. Once after five years.
I got kicked by some random kid
I kid you not the teacher said word for word
“Sometimes people get kicked”
Another time he called one of my friends fat
Teachers did a whole “oh no anyways”
In middle school there was a kid that bullied me for 5 years , and everytime they said "we can't do anything about it" he did something that could pretty much be called rape to me (we're both boys) and they did nothing . Plus the fact that if you defend yourself you get punished , most times more than the bully.
I'm in france not us btw
Shoulda stuck to cyber bullying, harder to get caught, especially if u use an anonymous account and spam them on all social media "GOTEMMMMMMM"
Don't actually do this, self defense categories are single vital hits, toes, fingers, balls, hair. If you aim for these and do ONE thing, you're not gonna get in trouble and de-escalate.
Waited too long in my opinion. But yes you shouldn't be suspended as long as it wasn't attempted murder
i put my hand on a girls shoulder because she was at the drinking fountain for over 5 min. she gasps VERY lodly, runs to a teacher, and tells him i punched her. funny thing is that she was the vanessa of the school.
plus the teachers dont look at evidence for kids unless they are"trouble makers". so when she told him i punched her i got suspended, but they didnt listen when i told them i didnt, and after the suspension when i told one of the teachers what happened, they convinced the other teachers to look at the camera footage. they were like oh i guess he was right and called me and the girl in and just told her not to say things like that. didnt even get crap for what she did. and then i was told not to get in others personal space when litteraly they over look any student that hits, kisses or straight up trips someone.
do you know trailridge gardner edgerton middle school?
That's messed up but mostly how they handled it when they knew they messed up. Saying don't do it again is the equivalent of telling a depressed kid to be happy.
@@zoggybread9073 whats hilariously sad is that they made me see a councilor because im always negative(negative as in i don't look towards the best outcome all the time) he just told me to keep it to myself if its the slightest bit negative. when i was depressed they'd put me in iss because i "wasn't representing proper behavior" (me doing my work quietly with a blank face and not talking much). i told them i dont like school and they're like "why" and i said i just dont like it. they made a big deal about it afterwards and all the teachers started calling me out on things more.
OrangeliX dude schools don’t give a shit about you, no one really unless their giving the school money or some shit. They literally believe say “be happy” will cure depression.
OrangeliX, damn, that's called toxic positivity.
@@AttksMatt Private schools are the same shit, they treat you like shit and expect you to pay them, they only held teacher more accountable because they could lose money.
What my highschool conditioned me to do:
1) If you get beat up, you get suspended / expelled for fighting.
A last laugh to those "adults" who made him litteraly suicidal back then.
not just the us system, but definitely
I saw a story of a school sending girls home for wearing shorts one week and the next week claiming they had no way to enforce mask wearing among students
Same shit happened to our school aswell. If a girl came with her hair open or was just showing shoulders, she would get sent back to home but apperrantly they can't enforce masks. Total bullshit
my school just started slapping suspensions on people who werent wearing masks or were wearing their maskes incorrectly. it's simultaneously reassuring and terrifying, especially when ur just trying to eat lunch
@@Monochrome2004 they never should have reopened in the first place, literally feels like I'm in a disaster movie where everyone is actively trying to make things worse

I am proud of him and I hope he gets successful

You forgot to mention high school relationships. They’re such a circus.
Funny enough, I remember one of the girls from the other classes saying that she is celebrating her anniversary with her boyfriend. How long had it been? 3 months lol. And then they broke up a couple of weeks later.
I've had multiple relationships in middle and highschool. Needless to say I wish they never happened.
@dookie no one really does. Not even they understand it
@dookie Middle School relationships are fueled by hormones until those hormones get bored of the person and move on to the next
One of my classmates had a boyfriend for like 3 days and they broke up cause he wasn't "ready" for a relationship, that girl wasn't really sad tho, cause they went for 3 days, fucking hell
There a 25% chance that the person using a bathroom stall is having an emotional breakdown. I speak from experience.
Taking a piss in the bathroom once, heard crying outside the stall. Finished up and walked out of the stall to see an acquaintance I kinda knew. She was a bit surprised since I guess she didn't know I was there. Apparently (from what she said and from what I remember), she was crying cause' of her boyfriend (a whole nother' story). She asked for a hug. She held on for a bit. After she felt better we both walked out and went our separate ways since we had different classes.
I tell you, the emotional breakdowns are real.

I remember when I was a kid, I was optimistic, always talking to someone and always looking for a way to challenge myself. Now I’ve graduated high school in 2020 and I feel like a shell of my former self, nowhere near as optimistic and I never feel like being challenged. I still talk to people like friends and family members, but most of the time I just want to be left alone. But my biggest problem is that I’m so used to be pressured by grades especially by my dad to the point that I I struggle to think for myself and do what I feel is right rather than what he wants
Move out; Both my parents argued with one another and the few things they united on was harping on me and my sis to do chores/ focus on grades. Now both of us are slobs and (although both are in college) neither of us apply ourselves now.
Remind your parents: School is important but so is mental health, lay off every once in a while so you can think.
High school has no meaning, only thing colleges see is manuscripts and only thing employers see is if you have a diploma or a degree.
Your no. 1 mistake: Listening to your parents, shoulda focused on socializing and group-studying, woulda made High school wayyy more fun.

Honestly don't know where this comment is going. But if studying ever stresses you out, remember you have classmates who are all taking the same test as you, and it's not illegal to call/text eachother and share notes/ quiz one another.

@@bobzillathebabykicker2981 Where I live grades mean EVERYTHING. Wanna go to this college that you really like? BAM BISH YOU CAN'T CUZ YOU PASSED YOUR SECOND HIGH SCHOOL GRADE WITH A C. Not to mention that to even get in college/university we need to pass 'matura' which are basically big ass exams (some like physics take up to 4 hours to finnish). Math, english and our native language are a must (we have an A and B level, you choose one depending on what your college/university requires) and you need to at least take two extra subjects (again, they depend on where you wanna go) anddddd after you pass that you STILL need to pass the entering exam for that specific college/university (some even have IQ tests). So yeah, in the USA grades might not be that important, but depending on where you live everything can be different.

Man, reading all these stories about how hellish high school is makes me glad I'll be starting digitally.
For me 9th grade was the worst I felt so lonely and out of place I had no friends and everything felt awful, I remember this one thing that makes me still cringe, I was waiting for the bell to ring so I can go to class and I was sitting at a table then this teacher sits a huge special ed kid next to me and im super tiny so the bell rings and I try telling the kid to move but he isnt responding and I try to signal the teacher to come and move him by waving my hands and the teacher just looks at me and then acts like nothing is happening so I wait for like 20 seconds to see if she would do anything and she didnt so I have to crawl under the table to get out and when I do the teacher comes and moves the kid and I look so stupid I was so mad and felt like telling the teacher something but I was too shy and I kept thinking of that the whole day cause it was so embarrassing for me. I have some more embarassing stories to tell if anybody wants to know

@@santicheeks1106 nice story, but how are you doing now bruh?
My final advice is sit up straight, my back is killing me from slouching so much ;P
Good luck kid! Keep your head up and get your work done, you will be fine. It doesn’t last forever.
Getting in fights, having classmates kill themselves and die in car wrecks, then losing my grandparents right after graduation fucked me up.
I was a mess until 30 trying to put my life together from the trauma.
I hated high school, i utterly have the worst memories of it. I soaked so much fucking stress in my life that i felt like few years of my life have been cut off. I have no energy and will not to go to college because of it.
