Great teaching video on how to resolve early seasons startup problems...You guys are one of my favorite channels. Keep pumping out the vids. Dennis is lucky that XLT didnt catch fire with the break locked up. Do a vid on caliper rebuild please.
I've shown a caliper rebuild on the channel already but maybe Ill do a short one as a stand alone sometime. The Patrons got to watch this caliper rebuild on Patreon.
You guys are having fun ! I remember those days. Glad you are still having them. I watched a video the other day of. someone going up Rt 77 to Grand Maria’s Michigan that sounded just like you ! Love the old narrow ski sleds. Everyone should learn to ride on one. Enjoy winter !
Cheers guys 🍻🍻🍻 Welcome aboard Andy!! Hey, I always thought leafer sleds meant sleds with leaf spring front ends, not sleds that drive on leafs lol You’re right John, you guys do look like you’re having a ton of fun!! Especially the Wild Bill sleds! Clean the carbs!!! 🍻🍻🍻
Mr. Nutter Hello and greetings from Sibley Iowa. I started watching you fix up old sleds on You Tube about a year ago and really enjoy your realistic take on sleds and shop tactics. I have come to Snowmobiles later in life (47) and find myself fixing and doing what I can to keep them in decent shape. Carburetors are sort of mysterious to me. Most of the sleds I see have Minkunis. What do you recommend for cleaning them? I'm generally in a hurry and take them apart and hit them with brake cleaner and call it even. Should I be using fresh rebuild kits? Also getting them set and especially the chokes seems to give me trouble. Any help or tips would be great. Thanks and good luck with the Ski Daddler project.
We have shown cleaning carbs several times. Please go back and take a look. I rarely buy any new parts for a Mikuni. You can use brake cleaner or carb cleaner or get an ultrasonic and try MasterStages 2020 (get this on Amazon).
No snow yet!!!!? Got 50 miles on Friday night in S.W. Lower Michigan 8” of lake effect snow. Trails closed Saturday night. Enough left to test and tune 👍 Got a 71 Skidoo Olympic, and a 71 chaparral Firebird 400. I’d like to restore. Wife wants me to donate them to somebody who has the time and experience. Let me know if you’re interested.
It might be worth a trip. We have a snowmobile salvage yard on the other side of my town. Look up Stauffer‘s snowmobile salvage. He’s into vintage restoration also. Thanks for replying. I love your content. Keep up the good work.
We recieved about 2 feet of snow so far. Rode 3 different sleds a total of about 150 miles since wednesday. Thaw this weekend settled the snow for a great base this comin week. Only issue was a tach light went out. Otherwise everything trouble free. 1971 Johnson Skee Horse, '96 Yamaha Venture, '98 Polaris 500 Classic.

Absolutely!
The best wheelie sled I’ve ever ridden was my brothers old John Deere spitfire 340.
My XLT will give me a little "boom" almost every time I dump some gas down the plug holes too.
Good to know it's not just me! LOL
