I would really like to see some of your builds. Could you make a video on that? I am currently maxing out all of my job points on characters. I have done all quests except the direwolf in the forest of purgation and the final dungeon. I have about 80 hours in the game. Never played the demo. I know how to one shot stuff in the forest but other than that I dont know all the builds that will help me defeat the final dungeon boss.

The steam version has an achievement for discovering every enemy's weaknesses. Only 0.9% of players got it lol.

Sorcerer Olberic reaching the 5-digit damage cap might just be the ultimate Octopath flex.
Not really because you have the stat swap passive which swaps your phy attack and elem attack stats

The divine skill for the "merchant" should be "Swift's Damage" and it does tremendous non-elemental damage twice proportional to your HP (kinda like Alfyn/Apothecary's Last Stand but way more powerful) and the character should say "THATS ALOTTA DAMAGE"

I took 5 days off from work and thought to finish this game, but after seeing this video i knew i made a mistake.

So good to meet another who is obsessed with Octopath.
Man this makes me want to go back and play my original save file... It's at level 92 and 91 for most others. I love this damn game... I'm doing a third playthrough of it now. Amazing how fast it goes when you really know what to do.
Hopefully Bravely Default is a good successor. Hopefully the break system works the same.

God i wish there were high level superbosses in this game besides the true final boss. It would be so fun to test out builds on them and then respawn them hopefully for more fights a la Xenoblade Chrobicles 2

Not as far as I've seen. They are only carried by NPCs and rewarded through some quests, by which I mean there's a limited number of them in the game.

I just wrapped up the final story chapters of all 8 characters in the second game. I dragged it out to over 100 hours because I didn’t want it to end. I still have the post game but I’m really going to be sad when it’s all over. Is it worth going back to play the first one if I never have played it before? I started with the second one and always heard it’s way better but I’m really going to want to fill this void somehow,

It's all about gear, skills and setup in the end, any of the travelers can excel at anything specially when you start getting good gear.

No... the prologue demo is the 3 hour one for each character, you can only use one of the files to continue from in the full game (if you try more than one character), but even then, all eight would be about 24 hours, 125 hours is five times that. Which is why it's a bit mind blowing to put that much time into it.

The mastery of having all character have battle used weapon is very hard
so...it's basically 350 hours of grinding, and 2 hours of story. that's been my experience with the game so far.
Nice. I have 250+ hours on Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and haven’t really grind for endgame yet...on top of that, I haven’t even started the New Game+ and Challenge mode.

Just give the character the Warmaster's Fortitude passive and keep that character's HP down, shreds enemies apart.

Contemplating whether I should get this game. It's currently on sale for 1 more day. Is it as good as Octopath Traveler 2? I'm really enjoying Octopath 2 currently.
A few Noob questions. How are you able to make it so you can steal from everyone at once? How about the same ? for attacks that only hit one enemy for that matter, how are you making them hit everyone?
Also, noticed some moves broke your weapon! What causes that? Would love more info on this! Cus ya, breaking your expensive rare weapons in this game doesn't sound ideal...

My favorite is H'aanit, but it's a close race with Alfyn! H'aanit is clever and super strong, so as a role playing character she's great. Alfyn is definitely more like myself, but he isn't as fun to play as :P

I'm pretty early on, but currently I enjoy using Cyrus, H'annit, Ophilia and Primrose.

Over 100 hours on a demo and over 200 on a game that came out last month, people have too much free time.
After 350+ hrs what are the top passive skills in your opinion, or anyone's? I know the game really boils down to personal play style but at first glance I wrote off saving grace. If you have a vid, point me in the direction. I'm not really min-maxing unless I get jp x5 or x100 a few times but do plan to cycle characters out here and there
the 2 most op passive overall that you should probally have by default at high level is surpassing power and saving grace the other amazing one is the physical/magic augment one the last one is probally gonna be the star steer 25% damage negation having all of them ensure that you are nigh unkillable at high level maybe beside the true final boss
What levels are you characters?
Probably 99 since that's the cap

The grind
I have put 215 hours or more on Octopath traveler. I only put like 5 hours in the 1st demo. I chose not to play the 2nd demo because the game was going to be out so soon
When I fight those mobs, they have like 20k hp. I see you hitting them with multiple 99,999 before they die. How?
Captainlonate Because nothing dies mid animation. First you finish your attack, then they die.

Hey. What levels are your characters to be that op? 😂 4 of them are level around level 80 each and I'm nowhere near that powerful. :'v

The level isn't what matters, It's the setup.
He puts Passive skills for Damage purposes, Nothing else.
And certain classes.
Also buffing.
If you don't eat your Jam Cold I dont want to talk. No, the levels matter very much. At normalised levels he wouldnt do 99999 damage, because of the stats. If you actually played the game and progressed to the end you would know this.
Michael Christiaan D. P. No levels don't really matter as much as you think. My Ophilia was level 73 hitting max damage cap on physical moves. All about the skills weapons and setup. I even replayed through the game to get to the final area and hit max damage with a level 64 Primrose with the Warriors Skill.
OhRichard so youre saying levels don't matter, do the same damage as a level 30 then plz.
Even with the same builds, having low stats would decrease your damage. If you level up, your stats increase. Theres not enough nuts in the game to Max out all your character stats, so leveling up would be the most logic thing.
How the every lasting hell do you already have 350 hours in this game.

I've played 90 hours, finished all stories, completed every sidequest besides 2 (into thin air | scaredy sheep), got to kill 4 "secret" Jobbosses and the final dungeon is still open.
I've got from level 50 - 70 everything, where do I grind the best? I've read Forest of Purgation a lot, is this the final solution to level 99 or did I miss something?

Anduril1990 Forest of purgation is the highest level zone in the entire game ( there aren't good farming zones at high level). You can kill the final boss with lvl 75, but you have to do a strategy (is that good? I'm not english).
For the first phase, this is my recommendation
Cyrus/Sorcerer (Elemental Dps)
Primrose/Cleric (Divine skill on Cyrus and boost his elemental attack)
Alfyn/Thief (use Apothecary divine skill in him and heal 9999 life points to all, he can also heal 4 BP to all)
Therion/Mercader
(Donate BP)
Second phase:
H'aanit/Dancer
(use the wolf boss capture to do a lot of damage, after killing all the extremities of Galdera she will use Dancer divine skill on Ophilia)
Olberic/Warmaster (Phisycal dps with warmaster divine skill)
Tressa/(doesn't matter)
(She is here because she is useless at first phase)
Ophilia/Starseer
(She will use recovery objects and heals, when H'aanit uses her dancer divine skill on her, she has to use reflector of magic (for not being affected by Eternal void)
You can also bring a lot of recovery objects, you will need them.
