I am Thai. This place used to make good pad Thai around 15 years ago. This place run by new style and it is cooked by new generation. It is not the same as good as It was years ago. It became popular lately because lot of TH-camr put on their channel. The line was so long it make you very hungry and when you eat something when you are very hungry that make it more delicious even though it's just a normal pad Thai.
I like the old style one, not this.
C'est quoi , pour toi , un pad thaï normal ???
@@angelinasaint-gilles7462 I used to eat this atleast once a week when I was in thailand, the normal one consists of all of that in the video but also including tamarind paste, tomato sauce ,fish sauce, and peanuts.
I saw this video and saw how they cooked it and there is no way it can taste good. My Thai wife told me it was very famous and good. But I told her there are many cooking errors. She said they used to make it good a long time ago and your comment confirms it.
@@anjeleetk1021 OK😋😋

I can proudly say that I have tried this personally at Thipsamai, and it's still the best I ever had. Order 2 for yourself because 1 isnt enough!
Yeah that serving looks a little small. 🤔
Definitely two!
you need to go to India for food. You are missing out if that is the best thing you have had. No disrespect.
Ok
@@Rcubegolf I'm sure he meant the best "Pad Thai" he's ever had. The entire video and premise is concerning this specific food.

Idk if it’s just me but these videos are always so satisfying to watch
Won't be watching if it wasn't satisfying hahahahaha
Bruh it is, satisfying
Right just tossing it around in the skillet
I love Pad Thai, Panang Curry, and Tomka soup! Thai food is one of my top five...
That perfectly seasoned wok is just beautiful
They commented on Oil because they didn't understand what they were talking about, nice foods bro.
For those who are complain too much oil.. Have u ever tried pad thai, thai food or any asian food? Btw the amount of oil to cook that batch is appropriate.
I had Chinese food a lot. The only greasy foods are the ones meant to be greasy. The other ones aren’t. For example, chow fun is meant to use a lot of oil but fried rice is not. I’ve always made Chinese food for fun. I mainly made Korean food and it’s not greasy unless it’s fried. I’m Asian btw. I think it’s too much oil. I’ve made fried rice and chow fun in big batches with egg with way less oil. So yes, less oil could have been used.
I agree with you to an extent, but at the very least. While cooking the egg in the big batch, the way they kept splashing oil on I felt was useless...
CHAN i usually go to the buffets here in america and sometimes regular restaurants and from one to another they are always pleasing taste and the ingredients and sauces are different , so they know what they do and do it right. is my favorite meal course and then Pizza. you seem to say the truth. Sadly here in US Thai restaurants are not to be found. Be blessed Chan. ( All commenters as well )
Actually for fried noodles/rice, this kind of food really need much oil to support the taste, if you want to less the oil,
the taste will totally difference.... you can try this at your home with just a little oil then you will know what difference.
Usagi Chan ....yeah I dislike too much oil
I am Thai and I just want to say that this is clearly not the best Pad Thai in Thailand anymore. This place is called "ผัดไทยประตูผี" which was very famous years ago.
However, due to the place being extremely popular and getting more and more customers, as of now, they have changed the way they make Pad Thai in order to please more people by cooking a large volume of Pad Thai in a short time, but they ended up losing quality and its signature taste and only Thai people know this. This place has become a mass production Pad Thai kitchen, not the delicate one as it used to be.
The reason there are still a lot of people waiting in line is only because of their past reputation. For people who used to love this place or have tried it the first time in recent years, most of them complained and were disappointed. However, I am not saying that their Pad Thai is really bad and you shouldn't give it a try!
TLDR: Please don't get the wrong idea that this is one of the best Pad Thais in Thailand. It used to be without doubt but not anymore to us locals after they mass produce it. I just don't want to see people with high expectations waiting in long line just to get mediocre Pad Thai and left with disappointment. 😊🙏 (edit: minor corrections.)
then don't left us hanging...just spill you best pad thai location.....
What is the best location hotshot?
Ok Thanks. But WHERE IS THE BEST PAD THAI NOW THEN..??!!
Agree this place is no long havingvge same taste. been visiting form many years ago. They have lost it.
where is the best please?
Had my doubts until all those greens went in that looks really good thanks for the experience
Thanks for posting this video of one of my favorite Thai Restaurants in Bangkok. This is a "must visit" authentic restaurant in my experience. Staff were polite the times I have dined here.
This place is the main reason I want to go back to Bangkok. By far the best pad thai I tried and I spent 2 months there eating at different places every day. Thipsamai, Somboon Seafood, and a somewhat hidden duck noodle restaurant were the 3 standouts from my trip
Where da duck place den

I've never had a pad thai that's been wrapped like an omelette, looks divine 😍🤤✨
I cant express enough how much gratitude I have for that person mixing all those amazing ingredients, and then putting it in the egg pocket…. I’ll take 2 please
looks amazing and love seeing it wrapped up in egg. So wish I could try it
I happened to be there in 2016 and it was so fantastic... 3 weeks later, I didn't found a better pad Thai in Thailand 🇹🇭 😋

Hey, this Pad Thai looks amazing. I also just posted a video about another recipe of red curry which is delicious :)
the technique...the control...it's amazing to watch. the way they sling that wok is so slick.
I LOVE pad thai. I LOVE it so much i can eat it every day like literally every day. The best pad thai i have ever eaten was in Sweden, in a small village cant remember the name. That pad thai was unforgetable one, done by thai woman on ber boat. Still remember it 😋😋
Pad thai in Sweden? Smh

If you're in Bangkok and someone asks you where to get the best pad Thai.....and you say " a small village in Sweden from a woman on a boat" hahaha
Im just impressed that this man used 1 pan and 1spatchula to make all this ...thats why cooking is so stressful for me i gotta use 27 items to make one thing then i send up with a sink full of stuff to wash
I really need to try the food !! looks amazing !!
As a seasoned Chef of 35 years to watch this man work with such precise movement both amazing and masterful. I'm very sure it taste as mesmerizing as it's preparation! Cheers 🥂
I’m glad even seasoned professionals like you are amazed because I was blown away!
The egg wrap to finish the dish is amazing. What a beautiful touch.
When he dropped the prawns in the wok my mouth immediately started watering 🤤🤤🤤
And then he cooked them to fuck.
That looks so good, I’d love to have some right now 🤤

Man I just love Thailand, so much good food and so much friendly people, I wanna move there when I grow up
I can eat that whole thing🙌 bring it here!
The first time I visited Thailand ten years ago I dragged my friend across the city looking for this place as I had seen it on a Rick Stein programme. It did not disappoint - it was the most enjoyable pad Thai I have had
What kind of meat did they use? And do you know what is the orange thing they tossed in at 1:55? Is it carrots? Dried shrimp?
@@aewtx Not the person you asked but that's definitely dried shrimps - sold in most Asian grocery stores. For this style dish you want the small+crispy kind not the larger dried Chinese-style ones.
@@RoboticPotPie Thank you so much!!
One of the very best, in fact, the best pad thai that I've ever had was off of a tiny little food cart in Kaosan Road in Bangkok. I've had this dish many, many times and this version brings me back to that spectacular, cheap as chips version that delighted me sitting on a curb in Bangkok all those years ago. Thank you!
Yea i think u talkimg about 1 dollar pad thai on kaosan street? Yea mayb its drunkedness but i agree
You must be joking... Looks like you have no idea about bkk and food... Khaosan road... Thai food made for tourists

Key factor to make it sucessfully: add as much oil as you can 🤣
Actually, the key is making sure your pan is hot enough 🙃
Thank you so much for this video. I am Thai and i miss Thailand soooooooo much. I can't go back home because the country i live not open yet. This video make me feel Thailand i can smell that Pad thai!(which it make me so hungry 😂) .

Just the amazing affordable, tasty, fresh street food, good massages and warm weather is tempting me to retire from UK to Thailand
gotta love the ph so health conscious comment section.
yes it is a lot of oil however, without it, all the noodles will be sticking together by the time it gets to your table
KT breathe that, and they’re making a really big portion !
@@seaverino5346 yea that portion serves at least 8-10 people judging from how big one serving is
When I was in Bangkok, the nicest one I had it is from some random stall at a night market. Then I thought we can easily get really good pad thai the next few day since we are in Thailand and the first one we had was really good but we’re disappointed. They were not bad just okay.
Will definitely travel to BKK and try again. I miss Thai food...
I agree! Thanks for watching 😊😊
This is a real testament to how marketing can play major role in how something is made to look superior. That pad Thai was probably better then all those other places more well known with nice places

Masters of their craft. That incredible.
Asians put so much effort and energy into the cooking...stiring all the time , preparation ..variation ...wow respect
I tried this place when I went a couple of years ago. Very good but i think the star of the place is the orange juice. It's sooooo good
Vince Nguyen I agree! I can’t stop thinking about their oj, best oj I ever had
it looks bit similar to our palabok here in the philippines it has also tofu, egg, shrimps & same color of the sauce. i would love to taste it 😋

Thip Samai's Pad Thai is so delicious. I can never just eat one plate. In addition to the delicious Pad Thai their orange juice is the most unique I've ever had. It's kind of like a whole orange in liquid form. It is so refreshing after a hot day of walking around Bangkok. I miss it so much. I can't wait to be back.

So funny that this got recommended to me. I ate there in 2017 on accident - my hostel was in the same street as the restaurant and i noticed the long lines in the evenings. So i ordered a couple of times when the queue wasn't that long, and of course, it was amazing.
Fun fact: Pad Thai is actually a Southern Chinese noodle dish packaged as a Thai dish by the then Thai Prime Minister Phibunsongkhram to solve hunger and nutrition issues in the country in 1930s. Pad Thai uses Chinese noodles, dried shrimp, tofu, bean sprouts, which are all traditional Southern Chinese ingredients. The only Thai element in the dish is the peanut sauce.
It's Thai! 👏🤣
@@epasternak4206 It's not. Look up Pad Thai history. It's a Southern Chinese noodle dish packaged as a Thai dish by the then Thai Prime Minister Phibunsongkhram to solve hunger and nutrition issues in the country in 1930s.
Which ingredient of Pad Thai is Thai? Only the sauce is. Thai cuisine don't use dried shrimp or tofu, those are Chinese ingredients. So why are they doing in Pad Thai if it's a Thai dish?
I see lots of oil hating comments. But the amount of butter westerns use in their cooking have just the same effect 🤣🤣🤣
Sin. D That's right and the sound looks like they gonna eat every day. So funny 😂
Nahhh it’s not the butter it’s the fried things. Like I’ve never really seen anybody use butter unless it’s for pancakes/waffles or breakfast items in general

nah mate, no one use butter in europe that much, this is just too much oil i was thinking that before even watching comments and i'm not european. Too much oil but still i'd eat it , looks good
Yes I can agree on that as a westerner 💯💯 BUT fs we are the ones to also use A LOT of oil because literally who tf deep fries a fucken oreo???? Or a damn snickers😷 westerners

it's not
Nope
eat that everyday for lunch and your pancreas will be pitch black in 10 years....
ImWatchingYew Nobody will eat the same thing for lunch everyday for 10 years. Also, if you eat spinach everyday for not even a year, you will most like have kidney stone. So that logic is very flawed.

wow.. The Best pad thai
There's a thai restaurant in manila called easytiger, at one of the high end mall in the CBD, the pad thai there was so good, it was my favourite, long line every lunchtime.
@brutforce 17 ofcourse we have!!, why you ask? Is it wrong to have a fav international food? Everybody eat California maki, a Japanese food, everyone eat pizza and pasta, an Italian food, so whats the deal if i eat pad thai in the Philippines? Does it means we dont have our own food?
@brutforce 17 and so? Does a colonized country doesn't have any rights to have their own original food or delicacies? Theres no balut in spain, but there is balut in vietnam and even in the islands of Micronesia, is vietnam and Micronesia colonized us? Your opinion is very stupid and idiot.
That’s my favorite, too. Especially the squid.
