The house was built on the site of Sharon Tate’s home. The only piece that was original to that home was part of the garage wall. I worked on this house as an interior designer when it was under construction about 29 years ago, I have to admit, even in Broad daylight on the job site there was a strange vibe. Originally it was to be a country French style architecture, but there were many changes while it was under construction, which explains what you see here. Also, permitting fees are less, and I believe taxes are less. Another fantastic video Arvin, I've been binge watching your vids since I stumbled across your channel a week ago. I love watching Enes videos and take them for what they are: promotional videos. You on the other hand provide a warts and all review of those properties; it's informative and eye opening even for a construction manager like me who has built mansions and commercial buildings throughout my career. I love your proposed solutions to the layout, and I concur with your $10-$20m price tag to refurbish this property and bring it up to market expectations. Your review was very fair and balanced, and a must watch for anyone interested in real estate and property development. I look forward to watching this channel gain more traction.
For the longest time, I thought to myself, am I the only one who sees build and design flaws when I do walk thrus IRL for my own RE investments and or online video property tours? So thank you Arvin Haddad for not only reaffirming and educating everyone with an eye to detail and ability to fairly value assess. Keep up the great work. When a property is dated, you are looking at major room to negotiate provided if it is what you really want.
im sorry but if you turned up at my house saying "hey i live 30 miles away over the canyon, your trees are blocking my view, please cut em back"... firstly youd have the hounds set on you, second thing i would do is call the garden centre for bigger trees... edit " lounge area with stunning view".. and every lounger is facing away from it, and in the pool you cant see it for the foliage....... bravo
These series are the best man, dont stop making them also I would like to see you react to the "The One" video by Enes. I know its obvious why no one wants that mansion, but I would like to see you critique it and give your thoughts on how much it is worth.
I live in a tiny, below-market-rate, rent-controlled junior 1-BR in SF and don't know much about real estate, but before you comment on them, I frequently notice many of the flaws you point out in your videos. Yeah, the architecture is all over the place with too many cultural influences. Regarding the newness of this mansion, I saw it in a paranormal video while it was still under construction, where TH-camrs were investigating the nearby Oman house, which is renowned for being extremely haunted. Supposedly, the nearby residents also encounter a lot of paranormal activity. BTW, I always thought Enes came across as a used car salesman in his videos, and it's great how you put him on blast.
Also I think the "dated" aspects are lovely, it would have been expensiveat the time. Things in the US don't have a chance to age gracefully before being ripped out for modern stuff.
Interestingly, most of the flaws about being dated, small kitchen, warm tones etc I don't mind. I wonder if it's a european thing given we're more inclined/used to/value older aesthetics rather than chasing new/modern ones?
Frank Lloyd Wright's Los Angeles houses - horribly dated. Rip the interiors out and fill them with noisy marble and everything steel grey. The White House - DATED. It's a tear down.
Speaking from experience, those large sliding glass doors (walls) are nothing more then a selling gimmick. We personally found them impractical . Love your reviews, points I never thought of.
So refreshing Arvin (and that is a sad thing to say) that your channel stands out because you speak your mind. You love some things, you don't care much for others, and some are just aweful. A mix we rarely see anywhere, and not just in entertainment. In newscoverage too.
I am originally from Andalusia, and well, the house has some resemblance to Andalusian architecture, but I would not say it is Andalusian architecture whatsoever. It looks to me like a mix of different styles in the American way.
These huge properties have multiple 'living rooms, bars, TV rooms, bathrooms and dining areas.' There are more interesting ways to use the space, such as a portrait studio, an art studio, a dog wash/grooming area, a car detailing room with drainage, a ballroom for dancing, or a massive laundry/utility room with specialized equipment for pressing linens and cleaning rugs. A craft room. a family award/museum space, a seasonal decor storage room. a library. a gardening shed with greenhouse, a dormer area for reunions, kids or inebriated party guests. Where are the rooms for the staff? On a different note, as an older person, I remember the murders well and would find the location disturbing. The new home is eclectic - but I like it.
100% agreed with knocking down the wall of the kitchen to create more kitchen space. Small kitchen for a 60m house. The basement/"game room"/theatre level is a lot of lost potential I feel. Filling up the hallway with seats, foosball table and the pinball machines just to make it look less empty. Maybe knock down some walls and open the usable space up. Agreed that the bar down there is somewhere you'll never hang out, unless you're a vampire. That said I think the architects made the best use of the space possible for the most part especially with everything surrounding the primary bedroom, they put a lot of nice touches into making that connect to the rest of the house. Great video.
The builder should’ve lobbied to have the street name changed. Anytime anyone googles Cielo Dr the Sharon Tate murders come up. If I was the builder for a house that expensive, I would’ve made the effort to change the street name.
Yeah, even the best home design can't take away from the bad vibes of the location. Demolishing the old house and building an entirely new one really does nothing (or at most very little) to change the property's bad reputation!
You know Mr Haddad, I often wonder what is included and not. In my experience, it’s pretty much limited to light fixtures and such unless specified as not in escrow papers. However, here and in London property channels, the brokers will highlight furniture and accessories. Hoping that jukebox is not a selling feature and that the sellers take it with them at the close of escrow. 😂🇬🇧
the thumbnail for this video is hilarious. Enes's big head saying "couldn't be better" and then big red words at the bottom : MURDER SITE. almost fell off my chatter laughing my ass off rofl
Another really fascinating video , however due to the horrific circumstances surrounding the brutal murders that occurred on the site , I could not even live in that property for free ! I could feel my blood running cold when going down to the creepy games room / corridor area . Plus I would not want to encounter the odd ghoulish murder mystery tour or photo collectors when driving the surrounding streets .
I LOVE the style of this mansion!!! The corridors eat up a lot of the living space of the house, which isn't ideal, but you have to admit that even these corridors are beautiful. Rhey really were ingenious about how they maximized the flat space on the steeply sloping lot, such that there's a decent size yard. And that waterpark is clearly something else! I've only seen one or two other houses with a private watee park!
Buyer: "I made a lot of money in finance/tech, and I'm relatively young. What do you have?" Realtor: "I have a super dated house where one of America's most notorious murders happened, for an outrageous price."
having two half baths close together like that is actually really good for large entertainment gatherings. not really gendered, but just to have more than one available when you have a lot of guests. Especially if you don't want them wandering off from the main entertaining spaces.
I literally paused this video and watched an hour long documentary on the Sharon Tate murder. I never knew who she was. I'm back now. Needed the context.
You earned a new follower today! I respect your attention to details, and brutal honesty about flaws in homes. 15:48 It’s a shame that the space isn’t wide or long enough for a two lane bowling alley.
Wow, the view count and number of comments on this after just one day... It's really impressive but I'm not surprised, I agree that the quality of your information and commentary is really high. You are the king of subtle yet penetrating side-eye BTW. Gotta say that I HATE the trend in kitchens that are completely open to the living and dining spaces. I think you're right about this hallway situation but in general I love a kitchen that is separate from the dining and living areas, especially if it has direct access to a comfy outdoor area.
This house's swimming pool and location and view is truely amazing without a doubt. I think 40 millions for buying&taxes and 10 millions for redo stuff, It will be amazing house for family.
I disagree with the comment on the double powder room. For a property of this size I would say that even 3 might be desired. Reason being when you have a bunch of guests over all the washrooms are centralized and easy to get to
Even though the kitchen cabinetry is dated, I still like it. IMO, a kitchen should *look* like a kitchen, not an ultra minimalist, glass & marble box. So many of these mega-mansions all look the same nowadays… they’re cold and soulless. But, I’m poor, so I don’t have a chef’s kitchen and I actually use and live in every square foot of my tiny, 3 bedroom house. 😂
Hi! I couldn't resist clicking on your video immediately with such an intriguing title. It's so sad to hear about the history of this amazing property. I have to say, it's a stunning house with so much potential, especially loving the primary bedroom and pool area. Your videos have taught me so much that I now have a keen eye for these things. Thank you for sharing your valuable knowledge, I always eagerly anticipate your next video!
Compared to the grey concrete boxes (well, shipping containers) we usually see I enjoy the eccentricity of this house, and all the rich wood detailing. The mix of styles strikes me as classic golden-age Hollywood, fantasy and excess. The view is the best yet. Of course the house is flawed, but at least it's individual. Whoever put those purple plastic-looking dining chairs in the staging is evidently colour-blind. And the basement bar is for speakeasy parties.
I just discovered your channel, and I'm crying laughing at your brutally honest comments on this mansion! You just gained another subscriber. Thank you for the videos!
I always wonder where the outdoor furniture goes and what they do for these elaborate pools when it rains? I guess if you’re that rich you just hire people to take care of it for you, but I’m still curious about the logistics. Do these houses have furniture storage?
Question on that monstrosity above. You briefly mentioned it but is there any ongoing concern about noise from parties? That guy is building a *party* place. As I understand it, he also isn't/wasn't being completely transparent and ethical with the build, trying to go many levels deep underground.
Hi Arvin, congratulations to your channel! Your comments are precise and always to the point. And your English is crystal clear, so even I can understand it. Best regards from Austria.
I wouldn't want or need a house this size, but the view is wonderful and the dark secret wouldn't bother me. (I mean, bothered of course that the murders happened, but I'm not superstitious.)
If you're not into the big hobby of taking care of that aquarium you'll have to hire a full time guy to do that. But I think the history of the property, though grim, actually adds to the value. A lot of people want some connection to big cultural events.
@@ArvinHaddadOfficial I read they even hauled the old topsoil away because of it. Wild. Really enjoying your videos by the way. So interesting hearing a more critical point of view about these properties.
This property boasts some positives, and let's be honest, it's the outdoor areas & exterior which stand out as the prime draws. I appreciate its departure from the typical concrete, metal/chrome, and marble/stone 3-4 story boxes, a design aesthetic of which I've grown tired. However, the style and decor appear to be a muddled blend, and the floor plan lacks coherence, as you rightly pointed out. Enes never draws attention to any architectural, design, or decor missteps during his home tours. Instead, he skillfully presents them as unique bonuses. Almost like a used car salesman. I wonder if he's incentivized to portray homes in nothing but a positive light, either through financial arrangements or the promise of access to more properties. That said, your candor is refreshing, as many of the issues you highlight are ones I could identify myself. You've earned my subscription, and I look forward to binge-watching your channel. Keep up the excellent work! Lastly, I learned this house was built by the creator of the show "Full House" and initially listed for $85 million, an insanely exorbitant price tag. While some may choose to overlook this property due to its grim history, involving the tragic deaths of five individuals, including Sharon Tate and her unborn child, others might be drawn to its macabre and gruesome past. It's impossible to predict the preferences of potential buyers, but undoubtedly, the property's history must limit the pool of interested parties. It's not surprising they slashed its initial listing price.
There's nothing wrong with 3 and 4;storey houses. I actually prefer multistory houses. That said, I don't really like the minimalist houses without an ounce of charm, those are too sterile. Old World style palaces and castles are the better homes.
Saw this home. Gives me a really creepy feeling knowing it was the site of the Sharon Tates murder. The difference is they got the added land, tore down the original home. People still go there and take photos. I like the pool and waterfall grotto, but I just couldn’t get past the fact it was a murder scene. Saw that the Menendez home on sale, too.another home where that couple was murdered. I have no children, but that place had a horrible reputation.
I must disagree here. One of the things this house gets really right: The Kitchen! I hate open kitchens. Combining them with living space is a terrible idea! The mess, noise, and smells from cooking are on display to your family and guests! The kitchen is a place of WORK, and should be isolated. Comfortable yes, functional yes, lovely yes - -but apart from the rest of the house. The ideal house has the kitchen in a corner of the house, so that windows can give you a cross breeze, to cool and ventilate the space.
New viewer here who came accidentally to your videos by rewatching Enes videos. Despite it flaws this was one of the mansions which I still liked. I didn't even knew about the murder case (but I'm also not an American), shame shame
I have recently found your channel, you are very knowledgeable, engaging and entertaining. This property is my favorite for the views, and privacy. I agree some areas need the layout updated. I love the back half and the pools. I always loved the location even with the original house. Have you done a video of your ideal or favorite property?
I actualy loved the kitchen, reminds me of French farmhouse style kitchens, the rest of the house seems confused as to what style it is suposed to be...
Hi Arvin I’ve just started following you in the last few weeks . I’m in Australia . Your videos are very entertaining and you definitely make me giggle sometimes. Love looking at the homes and your reviews . We don’t have homes like that here .
I’m gen-x and this house’s decor reminds of the the ‘80s so much. The one thing I can’t get over is Enes talking about a “long hall” like it’s a wonderful feature. For the size of our house, we have a “long hall” and I despise it. It shows lack of imagination and/or lack of space. Always question a long hall.
This how looks wonderful compared to the other houses he has shown. Not everyone wants open layouts which allow sounds, smells to travel around the house and creates issues when it comes to cooling and heating the place. They could get rid of the bar though. One thing i havent seen in many of the houses he shows are networking rooms or anything technical where you can place your network, audio or video equipment.
I swere I would have to be paid to take that on. And then I’d sell it without ever moving in. I mean the bad bad juju alone. Lords have mercy. I just can’t. 😂🇬🇧
I'm making a career switch at the moment with the help of a very valuable mentor and to have your channel as a resource to teach me things about how to avoid "shiny object" valuations and understand the true pros and cons of a property are invaluable. Really hope you keep doing this Arvin!
I adore the kitchen. I very much like how closed kitchens passively discourage people from getting underfoot, the semi-rustic/contemporary( ?) vibe paired with the woodwork scratches an itch, the pizza oven is fabulous, and there's more than enough room for canning and grinding meat. We're in agreement on getting rid of that blasted aquarium and combining those other rooms, though. If anything, I wish the kitchen and pantry were part of a different home. The property's past doesn't faze me (I lived in Vicksburg), but most of it gets on my nerves in some way.

15:07 Omg. Who is expecting a buyer to take over yer fish tank? I mean really. 😂🇬🇧
Other than maybe updating the paint color of the house, inside and out, I WOULDN'T CHANGE A THING! IT'S BEAUTIFUL AS IS!
Enes: "Here, you have these architectural chalk outlines on the floor that are very unique, and add to the fame of this site. Mikey, can you pan down to them?"
Mikey: "I keep telling you when you're looking up or down, it's tilting, not panning."
Enes: "When I mysteriously get rid of you, you will have plenty of time to discuss that with everyone."
The more secretive they remain about the situation with Mikey, the more it invites speculation. It's quite unusual for a 50% partner of a channel to suddenly disappear without any communication from the remaining partner. Ultimately, it's their decision, its their channel and they can do what ever they want... but from a public relations standpoint, it's arguably a poor strategy
@@ArvinHaddadOfficial All he had to do was say something like "Mikey is leaving the channel to pursue other opportunities. We wish him the best." That's all it takes.
@@stanlee3619 ya even it they had drama all they would have to say is " look things are not working out between us we wish for privacy till we figure things out "
@@ArvinHaddadOfficial I have watch almost all the video of enus from start and it was Mikey who made the video amazing
@@blueice011 I like that you misspelled so many words while criticizing someone else. Did you do that intentionally, or is that how you normally write?
Keep up with the video bro, I like watching these more than the original pitchman house tours.
Thanks Kitty Henry i appreciate the support...
Totally agree! Love the presentation style and extra info on these properties!
Good to support this TH-camr, but without Enes and his cameraman (and editing team) you wouldn’t have this video. It’s like 90% of the hard work was done by Enes. Easy to do a reaction video on an existing video
Thanks pal I really appreciate it
At one time, the house was listed for $85 million. It never sold and is currently listed for rent at $225,000.
When a property is dated, you are looking at major room to negotiate provided if it is what you really want.
im sorry but if you turned up at my house saying "hey i live 30 miles away over the canyon, your trees are blocking my view, please cut em back"... firstly youd have the hounds set on you, second thing i would do is call the garden centre for bigger trees...
edit " lounge area with stunning view".. and every lounger is facing away from it, and in the pool you cant see it for the foliage....... bravo
I am from Europe and I would not change much in this house. I love the hallways.
These series are the best man, dont stop making them also I would like to see you react to the "The One" video by Enes. I know its obvious why no one wants that mansion, but I would like to see you critique it and give your thoughts on how much it is worth.
Sure I have seen that property in person … will do that
2:58 Hold up. What is with that giant potted plant? Makes me nervous. Also, that wall is empty. Sad. 🇬🇧
I like the room separation how is luxury one giant room with no way to contain the sound or smells of the kitchen.
Also I think the "dated" aspects are lovely, it would have been expensiveat the time. Things in the US don't have a chance to age gracefully before being ripped out for modern stuff.
i agree with alot of your criticism for new builds but here I would cherish the era it was built in and keep the separate rooms kitchen etc
13:30 Again. What’s with the scale of that pot for that plant? And yes, that glass wall is hideous. 🇬🇧
Thank you for the support
Some of those mansions are like boutique hotels.
I have to disagree with the open kitchen idea, i don't want all my mansion smelling like fritata.
If I was the builder for a house that expensive, I would’ve made the effort to change the street name.
ya i think they changed the house number but not the street name
Even if you changed it the fact that it's a "ghost house" will massively dock the price anyways
@@ArvinHaddadOfficialYeah. It was 10050 Cielo when the Tate house was there.
Almost at 10k subscribers Arvin. Let'S go!!!!!
Thanks dasher ..... its been a long time
He got a new sub today from me! New addict here!! 😂
Almost 30K now, going viral.
the thumbnail for this video is hilarious. Enes's big head saying "couldn't be better" and then big red words at the bottom : MURDER SITE.
almost fell off my chatter laughing my ass off rofl
Nobody is better at roasting him than Arvin!!😁😂
Your reaction at the coolest movie theater dropped me on the floor 😂😂😂
Another really fascinating video , however due to the horrific circumstances surrounding the brutal murders that occurred on the site , I could not even live in that property for free ! I could feel my blood running cold when going down to the creepy games room / corridor area . Plus I would not want to encounter the odd ghoulish murder mystery tour or photo collectors when driving the surrounding streets .
It was a long time ago. Maybe it is time to move on.
You might need an exorcist or priest to bless the property and get rid of the bad vibes.
Maaan I was confused about the architectural style of this property. And I felt relief once you commented.🎉😂
That should be registered as a architectural style “Puzzlusionism”

-The dome is a USA-E-INS homage to Morrish Spain I guess-from above it "looks funny" but who ever sees it from above(now-drones-everyone)
It's a hybrid between different Mediterranean styles.
Great analysis. This property has had a massive price cut of $10.5 million. I believe by the end of the year, they will reduce it even further.
It really is a charming mansion and they really did great with what they had.
Buyer: "I made a lot of money in finance/tech, and I'm relatively young. What do you have?"
Realtor: "I have a super dated house where one of America's most notorious murders happened, for an outrageous price."
@@blueice011 I know this. The house isn't even the same location as the original murder house, but it's the same lot.
having two half baths close together like that is actually really good for large entertainment gatherings. not really gendered, but just to have more than one available when you have a lot of guests. Especially if you don't want them wandering off from the main entertaining spaces.
I was thinking the same. This house could easily hold a hundred people event; one bathroom won´t cut it.
The generous roof overhangs off the lounges is to keep the glass shaded and prevent solar heat gain into the rooms which is more energy efficient
I literally paused this video and watched an hour long documentary on the Sharon Tate murder. I never knew who she was. I'm back now. Needed the context.
I googled the Manson incident…When you know how those 4 people were brutally killed… I can’t see anything else. My gosh.
Apparently a lot of the ‘negative energy’ still exists there to this day.
You earned a new follower today! I respect your attention to details, and brutal honesty about flaws in homes. 15:48 It’s a shame that the space isn’t wide or long enough for a two lane bowling alley.
I like the lower and "dated" design a lot actually. But I also dont have the kind of money this house commands lol
Living a good life on this property would be a way of honoring the people that died there.
What the style of this House?
Kind of Kool… reminds me of original Hollywood California Vibes !
Imagine at night, looking at the end of the long hallway, and seeing ghost of murdered women going across.
Thanks man … so grateful for all the support
This house's swimming pool and location and view is truely amazing without a doubt. I think 40 millions for buying&taxes and 10 millions for redo stuff, It will be amazing house for family.
I disagree with the comment on the double powder room. For a property of this size I would say that even 3 might be desired. Reason being when you have a bunch of guests over all the washrooms are centralized and easy to get to
4:49 How hideous that room? I cannot calculate the ways. Assuming this mess is on any market, I suggest removing the DRUM KIT. Duh. 🇬🇧
Thank you so much! Glad I could help
13:13 No luv. I’d say more likely inspired by Frozen. 🤣🇬🇧
The downstairs bar area and photo room area remind me of the movie the shining
it seems to me it was a storage area that was converted or at least some part of it
I give the wow factor minus 16 for the amount of burning to my eyes. 🇬🇧
I always wonder where the outdoor furniture goes and what they do for these elaborate pools when it rains? I guess if you’re that rich you just hire people to take care of it for you, but I’m still curious about the logistics. Do these houses have furniture storage?
Makes it even cooler honestly

Question on that monstrosity above. You briefly mentioned it but is there any ongoing concern about noise from parties? That guy is building a *party* place. As I understand it, he also isn't/wasn't being completely transparent and ethical with the build, trying to go many levels deep underground.
I'm not sure who the owner is so I cant speculate on that ... but it is a possibility

A lot of people want some connection to big cultural events.
but murder is a little more than just a cultural event ...some parents feel weird about this stuff
Welcome to the channel
I've looked up the property above, and it doesn't seem like they're making progress. Local news says the project has been paused since pre covid.
27:47 Your videos are hilarious🤣 Keep up the good work!!!

Hey Arvin, I would love to see your dream house design. Can you make a model video about it? (You can set the budget)
absolutely not!! critics do not create!!!
they only critique what others have done wrong!!!!
muhahhahahah
OOh! the burn in the beginning, that's why I enjoy Arvin's videos 😎
I looked around your channel and I realized this level of critic is kind of compliment for the mansion 😅😅
6:45 Word. And the word is salad lol. 🇬🇧
Is it row Dee oh or row day oh? 😂😂😂🇬🇧
P-Diddy should have had those camera signs on his Doors 😂
I adore the kitchen. I very much like how closed kitchens passively discourage people from getting underfoot, the semi-rustic/contemporary( ?) vibe paired with the woodwork scratches an itch, the pizza oven is fabulous, and there's more than enough room for canning and grinding meat. We're in agreement on getting rid of that blasted aquarium and combining those other rooms, though. If anything, I wish the kitchen and pantry were part of a different home. The property's past doesn't faze me (I lived in Vicksburg), but most of it gets on my nerves in some way.
