He knew going in for a quick sword combo would stagger it and then bait out a long punch attack allowing him to retreat farther while dealing optimal damage. Big hat indeed

I liked both Laurentius and Griggs getting knocked into the pots on the deathblow and also Crestfallen and Griggs becoming collateral damage to a wild punch after the fight was over, Griggs fatally. It was like the mushroom punched him out of pure spite.
Being a fan of Dark Souls and Spirited away, I am embarrassed to say it took me THIS long to realize Miyazaki based the mushroom off of the Raddish Spirit (which was also designed by another Miyazaki)

First time I saw the small mushrooms I went up to them and thought they were so cute with their tiny, weak punches. Then I walked up to a big one to pat its stomach and it knocked down a third of my health, on a Strength/Vitality build. I was shook and just started running to Ash Lake after that.
I love how he accidentally hits crestfallen warrior and he just stands there saying "you gonna do something about it uh? yeah didn't think so bitch" and then turns around
Logan really is a smart fighter. He actually surprised me with how well he fought. Unlike the other casters who went primarily with their melee weapons he stayed a good distance away and used his spells to hit him from safety. He hit him with a few powerful hits and didn’t go in with his melee weapon until his enemy was stunned. Very smart choice in weapons on his part too. Not only is the scimitar a great weapon for average built fighters (relying more on swift movements and dexterity of course) but it’s ideal against unarmored opponents. This allowed him to get in three great hits with in a few short seconds. Sure he fumbled a bit at the end and got hit. But even without armor himself he still had enough hp to survive a single hit. Which was all he would need when his homing crystal soul mass finally fired and turned that fungus into fried mushroom, estus soup.
Mushroom: "My fists have been tempered by hitting them against the steel plating of those foolish enough to fight me, bully my children, or try to steal my ember." Players: "Ooh~ look at these derpy things. They can't possibly be that threate-" *proceeds to get their skeletons punched right out of their bodies*
Love how at 5:49 instead of going for the kill, Mushroom Tyson be like: _"Nah son go ahead, finish your heal."_ and takes a few steps back with PERFECT timing... Before promptly showing him how pointless his heal was 🤣🤣👌

I liked both Laurentius and Griggs getting knocked into the pots on the deathblow and also Crestfallen and Griggs becoming collateral damage to a wild punch after the fight was over, Griggs fatally. It was like the mushroom punched him out of pure spite.

First time I saw the small mushrooms I went up to them and thought they were so cute with their tiny, weak punches. Then I walked up to a big one to pat its stomach and it knocked down a third of my health, on a Strength/Vitality build. I was shook and just started running to Ash Lake after that.

Petrus getting one-shot was the best thing ever XD. Also, Big Hat Logan confirmed to have high intelligence.
Logan really is a smart fighter. He actually surprised me with how well he fought. Unlike the other casters who went primarily with their melee weapons he stayed a good distance away and used his spells to hit him from safety. He hit him with a few powerful hits and didn’t go in with his melee weapon until his enemy was stunned. Very smart choice in weapons on his part too. Not only is the scimitar a great weapon for average built fighters (relying more on swift movements and dexterity of course) but it’s ideal against unarmored opponents. This allowed him to get in three great hits with in a few short seconds. Sure he fumbled a bit at the end and got hit. But even without armor himself he still had enough hp to survive a single hit. Which was all he would need when his homing crystal soul mass finally fired and turned that fungus into fried mushroom, estus soup.
When Logan won he should have sat on the mushroom. One does not truly defeat their foe until they may sit on them.
