If the Chiefs 3-peat having gone 20-0 as I'm predicting while steamrolling everyone they play this season, they will forever be known as the most dominant dynasty in all of sports history. Within the next 5 or 6 years, the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes will have set records in the NFL that will likely never be touched.

In six seasons of Mahomes' starting, the FLOOR for KC has been overtime losses in the AFC Championship game. A three-peat would cement the dynasty's legacy, because even if some other team does it in the future, they will have been the first. Furthermore, they will have accomplished it before Mahomes turns 30. Longer term? Only time will tell. But if anyone has an opportunity to replicate NE's long-term status and success, it would be KC.
Good video but you forgot a real important thing, when you talk about the older teams before 1994 they had no salary cap, so in my opinion modern day dynasty is a lot harder.

Dynasty...of what variety? I know you don't mean a football dynasty? They're great by TODAY'S standards...next to Shula's Dolphins or Lombardi's Packers or Noll's Steelers or Walsh's 49ers...not so much....like I said....they're great by today's standards...and there's no shame in that...But until Mahomes does what he does against real defenses...that are actually allowed to PLAY...it's never going to be anything but a poor imitation...

@tgriffin3059 You realize the others teams of today have the same advantages and disadvantages as KC right? Eras matter when talking stats, but is irrelevant to winning. It's not like one team gets to play modern rules, and the other teams have to play against 80s defenses...

They haven't lost talent like most teams after winning SB's. They haven't lost coaches like most teams that win SB's. They haven't had significant injuries and the team is actually deeper with more young talent than when they first started winning SB's.
The Chiefs are actually a better team now than when Mahomes first went to a SB in 2019.

The 1972 Dolphins were my best team ever. I loved the Steelers, Cowboys, and Raiders of the 1970s but none of those teams were able to achieve what the Dolphins did (I saw these teams in their prime and relish every memory). Brady and the Patriots took down all the records established by these teams, but never achieved the perfect season although coming up one game short was pretty impressive. A 3-peat will give the Chiefs an enduring achievement much like the 1972 Dolphins have with their perfect season.
For the 70s, I could really only pick one team. I know the Dolphins have the perfect season, but I weighted longevity of the dynasties higher than the perfect season.
I think their is a really good case to be made for the Dolphins over the Steelers during that time period.
1970 dolphins are not a dynasty. You have to win 3 in a short amount of years. 1970 dolphins went to 3 superbowls but 'only' won 2. They are like the 1980s detroit pistons, the 2010s miami heat, the 1990s rockets. Great, but no dynasty
You have to take into consideration that its much harder in the salary cap era to produce a dynasty than it was in the 70s and 80s where teams could easily resign players, for that reason I believe the Chiefs and Patriots are the most impressive dynasties
Hey! I enjoyed the video. I basically have 1 critique. When you were covering the Steelers (I really like the old footage) you were very complete and included the number and streak of their Division Titles. I wish that you had carried that information about the other teams throughout the video in the same manner. In addition, it maybe would have been cool to have each team's achievements on the same page (kind of like a spreadsheet but not exactly) for comparison.
The Patriots had 11 consecutive Division Titles during their "bookends" dynasty.
The Chiefs have won 8 straight Division Titles so far. 11 straight winning seasons. 10 of those seasons they made the playoffs. 9 straight playoffs. 6 straight AFC Championship appearances with 5 straight at home. 4 AFC Championships. 3 Superbowl Championships. 2 consecutive SBs. 1 SB loss.

Chiefe have a very good and talented team. However, as in many sports, umfortunate injuries can end seasons in seconds. If key players dont get hurt, surely they are favorites to win the Sb again. Mahomes is a rare player, such vision KC had draftind him. I really like him

They are arguably the best dynasty of all time already because of total wins and the salary cap. All of the previous dynasty’s had at least one falloff year and the Chiefs haven’t had one yet. I think that the late Pats dynasty is the only arguable comparison because they went to four in five like the Chiefs and didn’t miss the playoffs. They also had different iterations and still found a way to win. I will say that people calling the Pats run as a 20 year dynasty is false. You can’t go ten years without a bowl win and still be considered a dynasty. They had two separate ones. Both were very different and both were very far apart
I’d also like to add that all of the old heads on here talking about the “softness” of today’s game are most likely fans of older dynasties and don’t have a dog in the fight. Their tune would be completely different if they were actually currently relevant…but they are not. If the Chiefs get a 3-peat, they will be in a league of their own. Although they have not yet joined the ranks of the most Super Bowls won, if they win three in a row, they will have done something no other team has done in the history of the NFL, and that will put them in a separate league by themselves.
I'm confident they'll get more Super Bowl wins; they're just getting started. But then again, I'm bias; I was born, raised, and spent most of my life within an hour of Kansas City.

The Chiefs have nothing on the Patriots at this time and I'm a lifetime Chiefs fan. Brady and Belichick were an unstoppable combo for nearly 2 decades. The Chiefs have a long way to go to even come close to what the Patriots accomplished, which I believe was 6 Super Bowl wins during that time. Do I think the Chiefs have the talent to challenge the Patriot's historic run, yes, but only if the key players like Mahomes, Kelsey and Jones can stay healthy. With Kelsey and Jones nearing the end of their careers, the Chiefs will have to draft or trade for the talent to replace those two future Hall of Famers. AND, I do hope they are somehow able to make football history this year and win third third Super Bowl in a row. GO CHIEFS!!!
