    Imagine two exceptional minds talking about some incredibly important moments of cs go and even taking the time to talk about niko not winning a major, but forgetting to even mention the most important event in cs history, norbert winning a major. Absolute madness

      The moment norbert proved he's better than niko.

      @@nsf_318 can’t forget the peanut brain sry brother 😂 and also I think Tarik was never a good igl, I think it was a one event wonder in that role, I do think however he was an underrated player overall, he could really be an x factor for a team and elevate it. Also i’m not biased against Na I really highly rate people like daps, Seangeres, steel, jt (not really Na, but he’s been more active in that region, so I consider him Na)

    the sad thing is with the Navi 2022 is that even with the whole war and swapping out players they were still the 2nd/3rd best team over the whole year, for counter strike its such a shame as we possible missed a team to contend with Astralis era.

    • @bretstiles345
      @bretstiles345 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yeah exactly. Even with the war they were still arguably the best team overall for the first season but FaZe was more clutch in finals. Such a shame we won't ever know how this team would have done without the war

    I just get so excited whenever i hear the talent, experts or pros from the time talk about 2015 professional csgo. I started following pro cs than and it was truly so amazing. Teams with different characters and playstyles, each team with a proper identity and the amount of trademark, reference cs players that were around at that time is simply unparalleled. Even though i became much better at the game later myself, watching pro CS never came close to 2015 ever again.

    I think the current era of counter strike is the weakest it has been in a while. I also think this is mostly due to the rise of international teams being fairly new

  • @sirdetmist3204
    @sirdetmist3204 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think a major reason for Astralis being so dominant was the teams around at the time. The team that would have maybe challenged them in 2018, Faze, fell apart. Late 2018 was really a no mans land, the second best team was probably Navi and only because s1mple was going ham. In 2019 you had Liquid but Liquid fell off so hard after the player break then I think we hit another short era where most top teams seemed to be all over the place. Then the online era hit.
    I like international teams but I dont like how so many are international now. I miss having a defined top level Swedish, Polish, NA and French lineups. I think you really lose something, when was the last time we saw 2 top swedish teams go at it? I feel like we have lost a lot of identity now that we have so many international teams. I think 1-2 in the top 10 is enough. Right now we have 7.
    I think the major is overrated. At the end of the day if you strip away the major part it just a very standard event and often recently its had some shocking teams in it. I personally hold Cologne and Kato above the major because they have bullet proof formats.

    Can you consider Niko had opportunities even if his team mates were the freaking issue?
    There really is only one time period where there is no excuse and that is G2 where he had hunter who is easily top 20, and monesy, and jks.
    During Faze there was only one time and that is with the olof-guardian-karrigan-rain line up, Early faze was still trash, and late faze was also trash, so niko having to hard carry like in mouz but with more dead weight? Unrealistic. In reality, he had at most 3 or 4 majors he could have one.
    1. Boston
    2. Stockholm
    3. Rio
    4. Paris

    • @trollface9903
      @trollface9903 ปีที่แล้ว

      Problem is, some of those lineups being bad were niko's fault. In particular the faze lineups that sucked and the G2 ones. Because early on, Niko was doing his GM thing and only recruiting players he liked, irrespective of if they were good or not. Later on, he kicks kennyS and tries to awp, then fails and is stuck with amanek and jackz when he couldve had kenny.
