I just discovered your "vlog"--I think that's what it's called. I'm 69 years old and not exactly "up" on all the technology lingo. Anyway, I wanted to thank you for your wonderful recap of Rhineback, especially as I've never been, but hope to go next year. I just started knitting about three years ago, and happened to discover the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival that Spring, in May, when I happened to be on Rt. 70 East, going to visit my daughter in Silver Spring, MD, when I noticed this huge sign that read, "Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival." Even though I'd done a little knitting at that point, I hadn't yet heard of a sheep and wool festival. But at the time, I realized, "Oh, my gosh," I need to learn more about this!!" Well, to make an already long story a little shorter, the next day, on Sunday, I went to my very first sheep and wool festival--a whole new, wonderful world and experience!! And I've gone the last two years, too. I live about 20 minutes from the Howard County Fairgrounds, and I feel so fortunate it's that closeby. I've since learned on You Tube postings/vlogs, that the MSWF is one of the largest in the nation, second to Rhinebeck, I suppose. And despite the NYSWF being so big and awesome, I've heard a few people say they prefer the vibe and experience of the MSWF. Well, I dream of someday being able to make more than scarves, hats and mittens--hoping to tackle socks or a sweater next...and maybe someday even learn to spin fiber!! And you do it ALL!!! There's a fantastic fiber shop in Rockville, called Woolwinders, and I've taken a couple wonderful, fun basic knitting classes there. Oh, wow, please forgive my rambling...again, thank you for your very enjoyable and informative vlog!!
@@juliemarieowensevans6976 thank you for your lovely comment and for sharing that wonderful story :) i too stumbled upon MDSW by happenstance the first year I went and was forever changed. I do hope you’re able to make it to Rhinebeck next year and I also hope you’re also able to pursue all your fiber craft dreams! Spinning is my “true love” but I have to find ways to use all that handspun yarn 😂
What a great recap! I have gone to a Maryland S&W many times and I really enjoy going to that festival. I have not been to rhinebeck as it is quite a distance for me to travel. I am reluctant to attend because of the travel and expense… I may go someday… thanks for your information. ❤
Thanks for the Rhinebeck recap. I really enjoyed your video. Looking forward to the next one! Love the sweater you're knitting with the black mohair and the ones you were wearing. So pretty!
So happy to discover that you also have a YT! So much fun to see your recap and what you got. I was sort of scattered this year and definitely missed things. So this was nice. Looking forward to seeing what you make! 🤎
@@caprinecottage omg thank you for watching!! it was definitely overwhelming and my eyes certainly glazed over at one point 😵💫 can’t wait to see your vlog!
@@phantomtoothfred There’s just so much to see. Even if you go methodically (I did NOT this year 😂) it’s easy to miss things. Also interesting to hear your comparison between Rhinebeck and MDSW. Maybe someday I’ll make it down there for that 😍
I loved this video so much! It was a great recap, I really enjoyed it. I am also an asian knitter and spinner and I'd love to see more about your spinning/batt-making/general making process if you'd ever be interested in sharing it :) I hope you keep making videos and can't wait for the next one! Take care.
@@dandeliondaisychain thank you thank you thank you!! i have many video ideas swirling in the brain, including processing fleece/making batts/spinning/weaving! thanks for the support and encouragement and stay tuned! ❤️❤️
Thank you for your Rhinebeck recap! I’ve never been so live vicariously via all the fun videos! Also, the sweater you’re is so pretty? Is there a pattern name? 😊🙏🏻
Thanks for your recap. It is refreshing to have a new point of view. Would you share, again, the sweater and designer name from your fit check? Thanks!
thanks for making such a chill vlog. a lot of the ones i watch have overstimulating background music. this was chill and lowkey! much appreciated.
