CSX 911 & 1776 New Honoring First Responders & Veterns Locomotives in Augusta, GA

New specially painted CSXT 911 and CSXT 1776 make a special appearance in Augusta, GA as the engines lead CSX Q693. The train then combined into CSX Q691 as Q693 was already running behind its scheduled run out of Augusta. The two units were specially painted to honor the first responders and veterans in Huntington, WV earlier in the week. They were later put on Q693 in Russell, KY for a trip to Waycross, GA.
Finally CSX Shows some Pride.

CSX does a lot of good in the railroad industry. No one ever talks about it though because they are to focused on making CSX derailment jokes

Odd choice if horns, but I like it. Hopefully these can pave way for real heritage units on CSX. We’ll just have to wait and see. Great video.

Both were handpicked on purpose. I know that at least one of them is from an old US Army engine.
I think the one on 1776 came off of the Army unit.... could be wrong though.
@@DCRailfanner the rs5t on 911 does sort of resemble a firetruck horn could be another motive for choosing it.

Nice shots of some good looking motive power. That 1st shot looks like your off Washington Rd in Martinez. If it’s where I think, use to live 1/2 mile from there. Miss seeing trains. None where I live now.

I saw the load it had when I caught but it looked liked it had picked or got more cars and hooked them up to the front cool chase
Probably picked up some cars in Spartanburg and/or Greenwood.

i like these units some people say they're a knock off of the ones from norfolk southern (between the 6920 and the 911 units the 6920 is my favorite of the two i just always liked that one a lot i do like the 911 unit two) i think why i like the 6920 more cause i have a few family members that served in the military so i think that's why glad to see csx is changing things up with stuff like these units
I do like Norfolk southerns better but these aren't knock offs people need to open their eyes.

It took me a while but l found it/ CSX IN RED 911 FIRST RESPONDER ENGINE...NICE CHANGE, KIND OF WISH THE AIR LINES START DOING THE SAME...

I like that CSX is finally doing something on the paint scheme front hope it continues. The GEVO horn change isn’t bad either.
It's nice they are finally showing off their heritage like what NS had done.
Those black MWAX hoppers are very common here in Houston
They use a lot to carry rock.
Now we need Union Pacific & Bnsf first Responder units & we are straight.

These engines look wonderful! Huntington shops sure know how to paint something up! I also love that fact that they sported 911 with a Leslie RS5T instead of a common Nathan K5HL!

@@csxnstrainman the perks of work as a contractor but in reality except for the paint and horns the engine's really aren't that different than a normal es44ac unit no reclining seats no head rest and the usual csx housekeeping woes.

Yep, your not dreaming. CSX has pretty much honored its past since 2015-2016 and they are slowly doing more so its good their turning around from what they once were, the problem is the railfan community doesn’t wanna accept that yet.
