I need tips too. Absolutely zero interest in getting in the paddling pool from both of my greys, no matter how hot the weather. 😂
i would probably give up trying to get him to go in if i know he’s never been in them before but every time we go to greyhound runs he is PARTYING in pools just like mine with the other hounds

Sighthounds don’t seem to like pools I’ve found. I’ve had 11 rescue and the only one that did was a Saluki. Max is just gorgeous.

I have the exact opposite problem. My guy has jumped in people's pools numerous times, even in winter. He jumped in somebody Koi pond once, which was particularly embarrassing.
it's so interesting because when we take him to go run with his other greyhound buds, they have lots of pools just like this one there and he hops right in! maybe he just needs a buddy to go in with him lol
@@Max-the-Greyhound yeah they’re like that. Mine was scared of the beach, then went with some friends and he was out there in the surf instantly.
Hahaha my Labrador Retriever also did that fish pond thing🤣It was so embarrassing but also very funny because the pond was so small. Luckily the fish were still alive😅

My greyhound Zeus hates water (except for the shower) as well for some reasons, I don’t know why.
we got a kiddie pool for our greys too and they refused to get it too !! eventually we just picked them up and put them in there and held them there for a second so we could take pictures lol thats the problem with having hound dogs !! theyre allergic to water !!

My greyhound-ish (rescue hunting dog, not sure if it is actually with pedigree) doggo did the same. We tried to make her go into the kid pool by making her dip front paws in the water and splashing her to get her used to the feeling of water but she would not go in without us pressuring her 😅 Our other dog is more than happy to play in the pool, so maybe next summer he will take his sister with him 😊
