"Mysteriously disappeared", casually has 8 turtle heads in his hotbar
How strange
came here to say this lol
@@xisumavoid very strange indeed
@@rexemondaforever2283haha, i got ya bro
@@xisumavoid very strange indeed.
I would add a layer of glass over your map floor to protect it. With the other Hermits love for wind charges, I can't imagine it taking long before it gets blasted and then you have to put the puzzle back together... assuming the maps don't despawn before its noticed.
Good Point.
That mechanic might make a fun scrambling puzzle minigame.
but then a lot of hermits are going to have all those "glass block pixels" over the map that are annoying. Im sure hermits can control their charges around important builds like this one. Very unlikely that a wind charge elytra battle would land one in there....right?
Naaah it's fine ಥ‿ಥ
It could go through glass as a blast
Prove me wrong
Careful X, those only look like harmless armadillos. They're actually a species of space rat and who knows what troubles they might cause! (probably less than a couple of snails tbh but you never know).
The "X" marks the spot was just a bit that grian did to show he messed up...
😂😂
If you really want to get rich off your copper permit, you'll have to go and mine up several trial chambers before anyone else can get to them.
I reckon it would be more fair if he got an advantage in grians challenges for the new item permits. Even grian mentioned how copper is worth less now
Smart
Not really, the hermits pick a random location far away and search around it for the chambers. There's no way to predict which they're gonna loot. On top of that if their goal is to extract copper they'll just skip it and look elsewhere
artificial scarcity is the very basis for modern global economics!
The thing is trial chamber is easy to find
This is so cool. Maybe you should name the maps as a grid reference (e.g 3,5) so if they get popped off it’s easier to fix. :)
Genius!
just to note, in my world I had my maps named for this reason and the name can be sometimes obstructive of the view.
@@saruwatarisaYeah. Might be better to have a book to serve as a lookup table of "Map 123" to coordinates. Fwiw, this is something you can even do after the fact by analyzing each map's NBT data.
You should make a spot where all the hermits can leave their armor and gear for the world download like cub did in season 9.
Cool idea!
Yes "Goat Mountian" is 100% Cubfan. Thats his goat breeding and horn harvesting facility... hilariously it looks exactly like mine from a couple years ago when goats were released lol. But from the air on a map it really looks like a defunct ruined airstrip.
If you want to update the map in the future you can leave copies of each map in little mapping stations within the map area. As long as you don't lock the copies at spawn they should update whenever you update the station copy. This way you don't have to constantly be plucking up the spawn map and flying out there. You can even recruit the hermits to visit the stations near their bases and do the updating themselves.
Thats an interesting idea dude!
How do you prevent the map indicators from appearing on the maps, though? I always find that super distracting when dealing with copies of maps placed in the world.
"Mysteriously disappeared somehow"
Sure, those 8 turtle heads in your inventory spawned out of thin air I suppose
it lagged into his inventory
Yea... how strange!
@@xisumavoid Sounds like another server glitch. You should look into that :D
There have been a couple server glitches lately 🤔
yeah... probably a bug from one of the mods *winks with both eyes* man strange things happen when you update a server huh? xD
"Plenty of Leather
From our farm in the Nether"
And X' Accent make it's bettah'
See what i did there? Love Ya X !
Finally caught up with Season X recently. This is the first brand new episode I'm watching!
🥳🥳🥳
Pearl actually has all the dogs! You might need to find an excuse to visit her.
The season 10 world is so photogenic on maps! I've felt that already from stuff like reddit posts, bits and pieces of videos thus far, etc, and I've been looking forward to a video like this.
The x marks the spot was from one of grians intros.
Where is armadillo xisuma skin? when bee was relised there was beesuma also there was a stridersuma ect. WE WANT ARMADILLOSUMA
If someone makes it ill have to wear it!
18:08
A goat just randomly ascended.
Right!! I came here to post the same thing!
Someone check if Moon's big !?
Interestingly at 11:47 when X clicks to open one of the invisible chests, it opens the chest above it instead
Looks like Scar is de-wooling his gravel shop
Map rooms like this are really nice builds... once they're done. But they're quite a pain on the way there. I usually make them a circular floor area with a glass viewing platform over top, myself, usually topped off with a huge globe as a roof on the building.
18:08 X just found Cub’s goat horn farm 😂
Its a wild place!
When you suddenly realise the tragic backstory to the Horn of the Month club 😱
Xisuma, you should make a map exclusively for the ahooping district, pointing what shops seems what for people to know if there is a new shop or where to find it
It could help selling you Cooper, since it is very far away xD
Question plus idea: Would hiding a map in each chunk dynamically update the map in the spawn chunks? So when hermits fly over it it will update the maps
No idea. Thats interesting!
@@xisumavoid From Decked Out 2's hud map we know it has to be a player holding it.
@@Clem2TheClemening I wonder if it would work with Armour Stands, or at least modded to work
Which mod was the cause of the disappearing chests etc? Just so we know which mod to avoid when we run our own servers 😅
Yeah that would be a pretty good thing to know.
Funny thing, just got this in my singleplayer world. Would love to have an answer. 😄
He said in another comment it was Inhabitor which you almost certainly wouldn't be using anyway lol
Inhabator
@@m00hkuh if its happening to you on singleplayer, and you dont have the inhabitor mod present, then its likely a RAM issue.
I had a *similar* issue recently on servers and singleplayer too where random block entities would turn invisible (but not losing their contents), which helped me narrow it down to some block entity culling mod from the prefab "simply optimized" modpack. Definitely check first that its not just a visual error like it was in my case as those are much more easily fixed.
if you keep the main map for each portion in the area it diplays it will be real easy to update them on the go.
That building in the mountain is Cubfan's goat horn "farm" i guess, he used it in episode 15 as preparation for the goat horn shop!
You might want to consider aging copper doors as well since they are also made with copper ingots. They may not be as high demand as trap doors but are just as big a pain to age
10:45 I think I have seen this before, when the RAM gets overloaded it makes Minecraft panic and start deleting Block entities either to get a bit more RAM or to try and flush out whatever is causing the error
Its nothing to do with ram
@@xisumavoidI had something like this happen in my world, but it was just a rendering issue. As all the contents of the chests were still in them, but they were invisible.
Do you mind telling us what mod it was? Always looking to increase my troubleshooting knowledge.
@@RealTimmyT Not X but the I believe he uses inhabator
@@xisumavoid Can you share what mod was causing it? A few of us viewers might be hosting a server as well so that would be really good info to have! Thanks :)
@@beeboo24683thanks!
The scoot collection system... I made exactly the same thing in my world some weeks ago except I landscaped it to make it look like a proper wildlife enclosure. I loose a small number of scoots that land on rocks or other features but it's worth it for the aesthetics. Such a simple idea... I have several double chests of them now for my army of doggos.
The chests disappearing was spooky, too bad it happened while you were mapping stuff out! Interesting that infested stone looks different to normal stone, I hope that doesn't spoil the surprise for Bdubs lol! And someone aging trap doors on the Scootball field had me doing a double-take lol! It's great that armadillos drop scutes randomly as well as when brushed so you can have little passive farms for them, the sand pit is extra cute now! I love the design of the trap door shop, looking forward to seeing someone show what it does! :D
X should buy some item frames from Mumbo to make his day.
If I recall correctly, I think the goat bunkers in the distant mountains are/were Cub's horn-gathering location for his horn shop.
Pssssst, check your shop. Somebody needed Copper blocks for their shop build. They were also bummed that they hadn't bought enough for a golem.
Xisuma, that X marks the spot was likely from a bit Grian did at the beginning of one of his videos to demonstrate plans don't always go to plan. (at least I think it is) which would explain the exploded X mark right next to it. You can find out by tricking him with it if you want to.
Xisuma, thank you for all your hard work behind the scenes. The whole Hermitcraft community is grateful for all you do to keep everything running smoothly.
You could sell oxidized copper doors too, similar crafting issues
2:15 yoo the use of those bone blocks is absolutely genius!
1:22
If you add 3 layers of top slabs above the ones you're ageing, you'd have a 2 blocks tall space where you put the blocks to age when you're placing or mining them.
You could open a specialty shop with Grian and Skizz to sell green palette shulker bundles, split profits. You could do the same with orange as well and leave a sign saying “want more of any one block, please visit our bulk supply stores in the shopping district”.
While the mapfloor does look really cool, I have a small suggestion to keep it in line with your initial thoughts:
how about moving the layer of maps on or two spaces down and covering it with glass? Then you can still see under the bit where the stairs would have been, plus you don't run the risk of accidentally moving/removing or rotating maps!
I do like the whole look right now though, so it might be a bit much of a task right now!
If you ever make a treasure hunt, you should make a field of stone and an x made out of infested stone to mark the spot. And a hint that the hermits have to make a map to find it.
The map project is always amazing, you can have copies of the maps an then showcase how much everything changed at the end of the season, also.... that Goat at 18:09 got me xD
Giant map walls are always so awesome! It's cool seeing all of the stuff that hermits have built around the server in one place.
I got off my flight at 2am and haven’t slept since six am yesterday but who needs sleep when there’s a new X video out?
Mapping is always so satisfying! Although maybe less so if you have to do it 3 times. Thank you for your dedication to keeping the server running smoothly. I saw bits and pieces while watching various streams during the debugging process and the time and effort you put in was noticed by lots of us. I like as well that you've taken on board that we like hearing about the behind the scenes technical stuff and let some visibility of the labour you do shine through your episodes.
Very cool seeing the world mapped out. So many buildings, so many surprises to be found.
Yes!! I'll be watching this tomorrow morning if not tonight, but I wanted to comment as soon as I saw the title and thumbnail. Working with maps is one of my most-favorite things to do in the game (and in fantasy/fiction in general), AND X is one of the three or so Hermits who have taken my watch-list by storm these past few months (added to several other Hermits I've been watching for years). I'm so happy!
Nah I'm watchin it now. I'm makin the time. Skimmed through via the timeline at the bottom, and now I gotta.
Just so you know Mumbo loves the copper golems and has a plan for were to put one
HI Xisuma :) been getting really into your channel lately and binge watched all of season 10 and have been using many of your farms in my friend groups smp. Learning that you are a metalhead from your Q&A video and checking out your blogspot was so amazing, the absolute cherry on top to cement me as a fan :D I know youve received a million requests and I hardly even expect you to see this comment but if you do, I recommend the album "Organized Hate" by the band 'Last Wishes'. they are a hardcore band from the UK ive recently discovered and have fallen in love with. The drummer lays some absolute grooves, the breakdowns are oldschool and tough, the singalongs are great, and while sort of basic I believe the songs "Loyalty" and "In Remembrance" are great reads. Even if you never check out the music I love you, your redstone is amazing and your content has been inspiring me and been bringing me so many smiles lately. thank you for being awesome :D
The map is looking great, really satisfying to see it finished after the last stream. I think it's very cool everyone seems to have invested more in landscaping and paths so far, it really levels up the map overview too
Thank you for doing so much work behind the scenes. Your efforts are appreciated.
I don’t usually make maps in Java (I use journey map on Java), so I’m pretty much used to only using in-game maps in Bedrock. So between pretty much only stealing my first map from a cartographer, and otherwise just making non-locator maps, I completely forgot you needed compasses to make a map in Java. So when you said you needed iron and redstone for compasses I was like “why????” before I remembered.
You could turn the world map into a killer jigsaw puzzle challenge
That S6 nether hub really was the best, I loved it on screen and it also the easiest to navigate when I downloaded the world.
If I recall, in season 8 you made progressive maps of your base and put them into the lighthouse.
You can use golia with the trapdoora if you activate them before exploding them
oooh interesting, Grian did say this event would happen soon, but this is sooner than I thought, but what else could permit master mean....
i love the throwback clips to previous seasons, id like to see more
use glow item frames!
better not , glow item frames have the nasty sideeffect of causing more lag than normal ones.
@@LakosiusHe could just hide Jack o lanterns under the maps instead.
I had a similar issue on Bedrock recently with banners turning invisible. I first noticed when I killed a pillager captain, not that I could tell, in my farm and thought he only dropped a bottle only to realize items weren't going into a specific slot in my inventory. Placing it down only showed the collision box and picking up more made a stack of nothing, so I could at least keep track of them that way. But yeah banners would randomly turn invisible on Bedrock. It also made my shield appear blank.
Hey X, In my testing, 4 layers of fully oxidized blocks speeds up over 3, and if you want you can even put 4 layers above the blocks you're aging too.
I tried to make a vertical aging tower based on this design, hoping it would be fully oxidized by the time it reached the top. But man, copper takes a LONG time to age even with this, lol.
The map looks awesome! I only ever tried mapping my world once, it was before I knew about elytra and was the most tedious thing ever. Never tried since haha
X, you do not get enough props for your admin work.
The goat horn collection house you found near goat mountain was built by cubfan to stock his goat horn shop haha...
You know the normal thing is to have the episode number restart every season but it’s nice to see something new every once in a while
for your drop box. need to add some fences (cord) and some wool off to the side on ground as a spent parachute..
Copper blocks (on average) do not age faster when surrounded by more oxidized copper blocks. The only way to speed up oxidation is to spread out the blocks you want to oxidize.
It's not so much about speeding up the aging of the copper as it is reducing the slowing effect of packing it close together. Closely packed copper, even with the help of large amounts of pre-oxidized copper, is not going to age as fast as properly spread out copper, but it's far more convenient. Consider a cube where the corners are individual blocks of copper; 8 blocks being aged with 4-block spaces in between becomes a 6x6x6 volume. Within the same footprint, you can stack several 6x6 squares of pre-oxidized copper and one 6x6 square of copper to oxidize. 36 blocks aging in the area that previously aged only 8, at nearly the same speed. That's 4.5 times the amount (and that's being generous to the spread blocks, since on a larger scale the corner cubes would have to be tiled with 4-block space in between, while the stacked squares can be tiled right up against each other).
So: per batch placed, you can expect to get the first fully oxidized blocks faster by spreading them out, and also to reach the point of having every single block within the area finished aging faster. But if you have large amounts of copper to age, large sheets of copper allow you to get all of it done in fewer batches, saving time overall. You don't need the large sheet to be as fast as spread out blocks, just for it to take less than 4.5 times as long per batch.
It's very much best as a bulk aging tactic, since dedicating pre-aged copper to assist aging would be pointless if said copper would be nearly enough for your build anyways.
You should watch the videos were i explain why we do it that way
maybe a thing to remember are are glow item frames, they work really nice with maps
Awesome episode! Absolutely love the map wall! Can’t wait to see the trap doors bring in the diamonds! Keep up the awesome work! Have a fantastic week! See you later!
So interesting about the infested stone showing differently on the map.
You could turn the map room into a mini Hermitcraft-geoguessr. It'd be fun to see it evolve over the course of the season.
The map floor at spawn is a very cool way to do it and you can tell where to go and look and the whole spawn area is very Modernly Castle base design which I like and the Copper trapdoors for the edge. I am not too sure how the 8 turtle heads got in your hot bar lol. (next season new skin with the turtle head to be the turtle master)
Dude xisuma is such a great server admin, thats crazy that you did all that multiple times!!
loved the title screen music for this episode X, reminded me of old Minecraft TH-cam
Yeah, the server I play on has had the chest/shulker disappearing issue before. Usually it is SlimeFun being fun after an update. XD
The wierd Goat halls are Cub's, for his Horn shop
Love the server map! I've always wanted to do a big one on my world, but I've only ever done a 4x4.
6:42
I wish someone did that periodically and saved the intermediary states, so there would be a history of how the world changed in map form.
That trapdoor shop is a pop up it’s GOTTA GO!
'I haven't found any secrets, just a goat murdering hole' yeah, nothing unusual there
a whole server map sounds so so cool
3:40 We're gonna need a lot of maps, a lot of item frames...
*Mumbo enters the chat*
Cub has so many wolves because he did an experiment doing the trial chambers with armored wolves
I forgot that Python made that old map wall, brings back memories.
My favourite HC Netherhub was the one with the Ghast chandelier. Can't remember which season that was. Season 9's was pretty awesome too.
Season 3 :-)
You should make copies of all the maps and put them at the locations that the maps show. That way, whenever someone builds something new, they can quickly update the map from the local copy
I think the trap chest at the trapdoor shop should activate a trapdoor noise generator (just flipping trapdoors as fast as possible for a couple seconds)
While it wasn’t particularly large, you did do a map wall of your base back in season 5!
Hey Xisuma! Mumbo is interested in the copper golem. Good job fixing the server. I'm glad it's better now.
X casually building another pop-up shop after the pop-up purge just happened
That Turtlesuma brings me back 19:10
The "it's a trap door" joke temporarily killed my second monitor. Success?
For Goliath what if you placed the trapdoors on the top of the block instead of the bottom?
Then increased the height of the hole at the explosion chamber from 1 block to 2 blocks. And have a water stream/collection system there. No loss of trapdoors I think.
X you did a map room in season 8 showing the progression of your base
Cub used the wolves to take out a Trial Chamber where he only healed their armor & let them do all the work
Might be worth dropping the map into a room below.
It will let you add the cropped edges, keep them a bit safer, and (not sure)make the area spawnable again.
It makes no sense how the Inhabitor mod breaks like this. It's nice to know I'm not alone with this problem of disappearing block entities!
That shipping container looks like the pokemon Charjabug
16:34 Me: (singing) Go, go, Wolfy rangers!
I'm a little surprised you didn't use the new glowing item frames for the maps, since I feel like that would've done at least the same thing as the glowstone, if not maybe a bit better, although then I guess there wouldn't be a hidden light source for the area huh
