    Howdy Amigo, yes, playing catch up again, sorry dude for late reply. Components look awesome, but I miss the boxed ORP'S, LOL. That hot sauce is the bomb! Rombouts coffee used to be the best, unsure now? Not had in Yrs. , unsure if changed? Typhoo tea was excellent as well. I am one of the few, that like the Cola drink. Most dislike, due to lack of carbonation. I never tried ginger pudding, but the toffee pudding rocked it. It seems you enjoyed most components. Nicely done review sir. I hope all are safe your way Jerms. Peace from Ky. , John.

    I love the UK rations! Btw, pudding is a general term in the UK for dessert. So this is just a piece of cake with sauce.

    • @kevinroche3334
      @kevinroche3334 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      FYI, a pudding in the UK is a steamed pastry or sponge - think steak and kidney pudding or the sweet pudding you have there. With our stodgy cooking, the term pudding came to mean the sweet course after dinner.

    British rations are second only to the French in my opinion. The biggest drawback is it's bulk and size. You get plenty of everything, all top notch. But as with most of the worlds rations, the American rations have a way longer shelf life. Something to consider.

    • @jermsMRE
      @jermsMRE  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes this was great! I have not had a French yet but I do have one I will be reviewing. Pretty excited for that! Yes, the US MRE's have a very long shelf life. I've eaten some from the early 80's that were in surprisingly great condition still. Thanks for watching Kevin. I appreciate it!

      Never served my self but dad was in Marines back in 60s 70s and when times were tight we would go camping and eat military rations.first real mres I had was after my town got flooded by hurricane Florence us who staid behind got two boxes of mres from fire department per family member so we had a total of four cases .24 civilian low sodium meals and 24 combat military mres. I like the chilli one the best. All the civilian ones came with a bag of Skittles and a giant fig Newton bar but entrees were all blah because of low sodium luckily I had salt pepper and taco sauce to liven them up worst military item I ate was the hash browns in the breakfast one they were horrible even with ketchup

      I was brought up old fashioned way there was very little money as brought up in such dire poverty so no picky eaters allowed if you refused to eat your main no pudding was given worse you went bed hungry as knew if oneself didn't eat wot was put in front you that's it end story. I also learnt to respect my Elders especially our late Mother so to turn round say no wouldn't helped.
      As for puddings just like at free school meals the pudding were all cooked from scratch they varied but always had custard with it sponge was either plain like plain or lemon or ginger depending wot could be affordable or with composite like pureed or stewed apples or Rhubarb from neighbours mini allotment or trees in favour of some hard labour to pay for them or even tinned pineapples known as upside down cake delicious. We also had home made rice puddings, tarts and soup so thick it filled you right up with the imagination, creativeness, patience and effort in to it oneself can make just about anything from very little such shame schools stopped Home Economics which including Haberdashery that's English term for sewing and make do and mend
