After binge watching most of this series, it became obvious that most of the Goodwill employees knew about Clint’s TH-cam show, and they started to leave little treasures all over their stores for him to find. Neat! ☺️
I wish i had goodwills like that here. Ive gone out thrifting several times and its basically that hideous cube and clothes that are usually the size of a 2 person tent, or just crap that target couldnt sell.
Straight up my favourite show out there. Wandering through endless shelves of tat to find the gems is why I love thrifting (albeit for books instead), so watching someone else thrift for their particular 'jam' is very interesting and relaxing.
Congrats on your move! I had a dream a few weeks ago that I was thrifting and found tons of cool laserdiscs but when I woke up I was well annoyed I didn't actually have them. But it did inspire me to actually make it happen and you helped show me how to do it so cheers!
I absolutely love this video series! Seeing so many things that I want so much. I only have two local thrifts stores and they've been empty for the past couple of months. One even downsized its electronics section.
Yes, I've been looking for an electronic German attracter! (text is basically saying you can use it to view in large format and in daylight without a complicated setup)
4:05 So you're telling me there were multiple copies of Rhythm Heaven Fever at some random Goodwill but when I look for it, it's nowhere to be seen. Ok.
Just got home and was going to go out and film something, but saw this in my feed and had to pause and watch this first! Always great to see this, especially seeing the different items in the stores you go to since in Ireland, charity shops are usually a lot smaller than those and we don't have anywhere near the amount of stuff Goodwills and places like that in the US do, especially the electronics.
Wow, my parents owned the exact same wood grain VHS holder that shows up at 14:14. I loved how it had two separate drawers, and it matched the gigantic Zenith TV set. Such fond memories...
That Packard Bell keyboard!(around 10:54) we had one with the 2nd computer we had home (with sitckers on many key for the "French Canadian" Layout), but the one I had the most childhood memories with! It was a Pentium2 desktop and had that monitor with the speakers attached you found but did not buy on another LGR Thrift! Our first one was a 486 but was mainly a work computer for my father, being an accountant and filling taxes for people and such things
I love seeing the VHS movies. A big part of my life growing up was getting the VCR and being able to record or rent movies. I would be on the lookout for the VHS tapes as some are starting to become very rare and are fetching hundreds of dollars.
LGR, I am so happy to see this video in my subscriptions box. The past couple days have been really emotionally draining and brutal on me and I think a new Thrifting video was just what I needed. You and your videos always cheer me up. I don't know if you realize this but you make such a positive impact on me and a lot of viewers who subscribe to you and I hope you never give this stuff up or feel like what you do is a waste of time and energy, because it certainly is not. Thanks for making my day a little brighter and helping me to forget my life problems for just a little while.
So glad to see a new thrifts!!! your thrifts series is what prompted me to start thrifting. I thought Goodwill was just a store full of dead peoples clothes until I saw your series!!! Hope your move goes smoothly. I'm on the hunt for old apple stuff thats what I go looking for...
I've only been thrifting a short while but last time I went, it was actually a salvation army, I found a nice folio of "Legends of the Ancients". Its for the apple ][ series. Its in great condition and as far as I can tell from looking online it came with everything it originally came with. The only thing is I don't yet have an apple ][. So an apple ][ is my "holy grail" find if I do find one. I'll probably just end up buying one, but watch as soon as I do one will pop up at a goodwill. I also got a nice blue gameboy pocket. Thanks for asking. What about you find anything good?
+Jess Hull Great grab on the GBC, and I would love to find an Apple ][. I find stuff thrifting and dumpster diving pretty frequently actually. Enough so that I make weekly haul videos. Shameless plug out of the way, I recently snagged a Logitech G19 gaming keyboard for $3 and a 1991 release of the original SimCity still in shrink for $2.50.
That Elton John LP you found is really special and rare! I'm "kinda of" a mega Elton fan (you can tell after one second of browsing my channel) and I've been looking ALL over for that record. I don't expect you to part with it but if for some reason you do for space or something, I'd be more than willing to buy it from you. It's a badass LP and you're so lucky to have it.
furrymessiah I think it has something to go with each stores managers... because the wills, at least here in Montreal, are collected all together, bridged back to a sorting facility and then delivered to the stores, ( stiff from the donation bins) plus everything that is dropped in store by people. On a beautiful day, have a coffee at the donations door of your good will to see things get in there in their raw format. People did bring many things. Stealing at your local electronical waste recycling facility is also a good idea, or at least a good place to have a coffee at the entrance door and ask people "hey, what do you bring it interesting today?" Just before they get authorized to dump their trash.
love ur thrifts episodes and everything else you do. LGR RULES! Been subscribed for years now. watched all ur game review videos, man don't ever stop doing this pleeeease, your my favourite of all gaming utube channels!
I have to say, I liked seeing that Wheelwriter 3, but it was was that Selectric that really got my attention. I have too many of those things as it is, and can always use one more. Great video, as always!
Wow a whole slew of ps1s and model 2 Sega Genesis systems. The one goodwill in my town has nothing retro. I love the stuff you find Clint, it's very interesting. 🙂
Those Packard Bell keyboards are awesome. They actually use really nice cherry switches and feel really nice to type on. I've gone as far as even using them on more modern systems just because of how well they're built. I probably have about 6 or 7 of those keyboards, some with Windows keys and some without.
That magnétophone for teaching languages was used by my French class in the mid-2000s! Our school was rather underfunded, so all our language supplements were still on that. Wow, that brings back memories!
CLOSURE!!! Holy crap man, I am soooo jealous of that find. I wish I still had mine. Tho someone leaked a unreleased dvd copy on the web a few years ago I'd kill to own a VHS copy again.
Since I'm one of the first four to comment on this video i want to say how much I really appriciate your channel! Your only a couple of years older than i, I'm 25 so you got to live a little more of the great 80's and early 90's gaming in its heyday , and i must say I'm envious of that, and the godly collection of games you have! you one of my top 5 favorite youtubers, along with jayztwocents, barnecules, casey neistat, 8 bit guy, and you! And love the thrifts I've yet to find my "score" yet but I've been looking now because of these videos! Much love from Youngstown Ohio!!!!!!
I have no idea why look forward to your thrift vids so much. Best thing I ever found was in 97 at a Salvation Army I got a 74 Sears Pong machine CIB for $5. Usually it's clothes, depression, and CRT TVs.
Only episode 25?! It feels like a lot more! Anyway, keep up the great work and it's amazing that something as simple as going to thrift stores can be so interesting to watch :p
The switches on the VCR under the panel were for manually tuning the channels. You hit the button to select it and use the dial to tune in a channel. If you had particularly good OTA reception, you might not have enough tuning slots for all the channels.
Packard Bell is another nostalgic brand for me. Packard Bell also had a contract for the military PX system. Everyone in the computer mafia on base had a Packard Bell. Except for me with my Tandy 486-SX 25mhz. I remember trying to upgrade my machine, with a 486 DX4 75 MHz CPU. 16 mb of ram. Max cash memory and it was still slower than my friends Packard Bell 66mhz machine. He had VESA Local Bus while I was stuck with ISA. Trying to convince me that upgrading my machine any further was a exercise in futility, My friend told me...Dave...you can't polish a turd.
I made my first trip to a Goodwill outlet store in my latest thrifting run and the people there are ravenous. Every time they'd wheel out a bin there would be a bunch of people clawing through and and getting pissed at each other. I realized on this journey that the trick to finding interesting things is just being persistent, checking all the stores around you, and going back every once and a while when you can.
I grabbed one of those panasonic under the counter tv's a few years back, gutted the tube and chassis and used it to make a 1/3 scale arcade cab shell for all my systems that I have arcade sticks for. The only gripe is that the A.V. channel is impossible to get to without a remote unless it just happens to be tuned to that channel when you buy it. Freaking love it.
10:28 - Is there a single Goodwill on the face of the Earth that DOESN'T have at least one copy of Titanic on VHS? Did they make like 5 billion copies of this movie? Most time, I see 3-4 copies in the same store! 10:45 - My current keyboard looks exactly like that, but mine is a 1051A. I found it in bulk trash a few years ago, cleaned it up and have been using it ever since. For some reason the NumLock light stays on all the time, even when NumLock is off, but other than that it works great. I prefer white keyboards because it's easier to see the divisions between the keys, which matters since I have to look at the keyboard as I "type". 14:13 - I found a similar VHS storage case a few months ago and bought it for my friend (it was half off). When I took it up to the register, the girl (probably about 18-20) looked at it, turned it around a little and then asked me what it was.
+lurkerrekrul I went into a Goodwill that didn't have a copy of Titanic on VHS once. Or was that a Savers... The fact that a cashier that may be in her 20s had no idea what a VHS storage case was makes me feel old. I understand being confused when I buy someones old tube of POGs, but not knowing what a VHS storage case is?
Well, I just finished watching the whole LGR thrifts series over a week, and now I'm craving more. That was good stuff. Also motivated me going out to thrift stores more. I'm in France though, and overall it seems there's less interesting stuff in thrift shops here. But on the plus side, seems games are overall cheaper.
12:42 - Oh man I remember having that one! Holy damn, only it actually had double cassette players if i remember correctly, which was amazing back then. Cool video for nostalgic moments!
I haven't found anything while thrift shopping in literal years. I suppose that's a "good" thing because I have no room left. The crazy thing is, I collect so many different things from classic PC and video games to vintage radios toy cars and Garfield memorabilia, I guess my city has run dry of old people dieing off so I can get their cool old stuff! lol
"Girls who are boys Who like boys to be girls Who do boys like they're girls Who do girls like they're boys Always should be someone you really love" Always loved that song! Nice find Clint! I think I actually still have some translucent vinyls around here as well from my old DJing days. :)
I've been using that Altec Lansing XA3021 speaker for about 10 years now on various computers. It's a 2.1 way setup, so the one you saw was missing two speakers (which kinda look like old school radio microphones)
0:59 not sure if someone already pointed it out but klymaxx was sampled by Com Truise in his song with the same name!! looks like that cassette would've had the song he sampled too, called "sexy", of course. i knew that name sounded familiar...
oh my goodness, I had one of those neck light things. I think it was a gift from my grandma. It was actually pretty handy for playing gameboy games at night.
LOL I am sitting next to that same cheap SoundDesign stereo right now, I miss my nice Fisher Hi-Fi stack. The Fisher VCR was cool to see, I have had a lot of their audio stuff from the same Studio Standard lineup
At my local walmart they have what is essentially the block rocker but upgraded. It's still got a dock but also bluetooth and aux as well as usb for charging. Still freaking huge though.
The echo makes it sound like we're hearing your inner thoughts while you thrift. I kinda love it.
Haha, whatever makes it work for you :P
A machine that surrounds you with happy Germans? XD
So that's why there's only grumpy ones left over here!
Quite a few dead people's cassette tapes down here. Probably the most depressing statement you'll hear this year.
+delatroy There must be a lot of David Bowie and Prince albums on that shelf.
I don't know what I meant
Oh man! I would have definitely bought the keyboard too, that would fit great with my "8-Bit Keys" channel.
great videos man!
Your videos are awesome.
Yes, 8-bit keys, I hope it's unconscious rather than dead as I would love to see you cover more keyboards.
"Farting on it wrong"
opposed to farting on it right? oh god
Yeah, that's going to be a video I skip....
"LGR: Farting on old tech, done right."
I’m still waiting for the long awaited video, “Farting on woodgrain low quality electronics ASMR”
"this is not a phallic gord." quote of the century
I love how enthusiastic you are about clock radios and old school gizmos in general. Love it! Thrifts make my month!
One side we have TH-cam-Drama.
The other side we have Thrifting.. hmm. I like this side much more, it's chill!
WHY 700,000 GAMES
WHY NOT MAKE IT A MILLION GAMES; A BILLION
SKY'S THE LIMIT WHEN YA DONT GIVE A SHIT
Seed
Didn’t Jerma also play that
After binge watching most of this series, it became obvious that most of the Goodwill employees knew about Clint’s TH-cam show, and they started to leave little treasures all over their stores for him to find. Neat! ☺️

Woah, my viewer find made it into the episode, that's awesome. Thanks Clint! Love the show and love your channel!
"...could use more wood grain." - my thoughts on every piece of electronics i have ever seen
I gotta have more woodgrain!
oh shit, jerma985 did a video on that 700,000 games a while back... you should check it out its pretty 'quality'
+julia lol yup!!!
14:45 Gotta look out for that skirt lifter at Good Will
Wow! You found NIN Closure!! I've been hunting for vhs for years and have been hoping to find a copy. Ahh someday.. Good finds today all around, lgr!
I absolutely love this video series! Seeing so many things that I want so much. I only have two local thrifts stores and they've been empty for the past couple of months. One even downsized its electronics section.
+mpuone Not gonna lie, this post made me kinda sad. You'll find your epic haul one day, even if it has to wait for a yard sale instead of a thrift.
You just made my entire evening with this, I think I've checked every day for a new video and watched all of the other episodes of this series.
+KeinBiervorVier glad to hear that
Aww man, including that viewer find with all the Löwenzahn games just kills me inside. RIP Peter Lustig.
Codex Necro r.i.p :'(
Yes, I've been looking for an electronic German attracter!
(text is basically saying you can use it to view in large format and in daylight without a complicated setup)
LGR's my homie! I always enjoy these episodes as much as 'Tech Tales'. Thanks, man.
Seeing that many copies of Rhythm Heaven Fever in one place is mind boggling 7 years later.
4:05 So you're telling me there were multiple copies of Rhythm Heaven Fever at some random Goodwill but when I look for it, it's nowhere to be seen. Ok.
i feel you i was shocked there were literally like 5 copies i had to get mine from fucking France lmao
Just got home and was going to go out and film something, but saw this in my feed and had to pause and watch this first! Hey Clint, what's the most expensive item that you've bought from a thrift store?
It'd have to be one of the vintage computers I've gotten over the years, I think the most costly was $49
Babybarschalarm post doubled cause you're just that stupid
Babybarschalarm 😂😂😂😂
A life, maybe? Just kidding... 😆
I love seeing the VHS movies. A big part of my life growing up was getting the VCR and being able to record or rent movies. I would be on the lookout for the VHS tapes as some are starting to become very rare and are fetching hundreds of dollars.
My middle school's great pride was their MusicStar keyboard. Thanks for bringing back some memories!
LGR, I am so happy to see this video in my subscriptions box. The past couple days have been really emotionally draining and brutal on me and I think a new Thrifting video was just what I needed. I'm on the hunt for old apple stuff thats what I go looking for...
+Jess Hull Thrift stores definitely have that kind of reputation, but don't fall for it. Have you found anything good?
I've only been thrifting a short while but last time I went, it was actually a salvation army, I found a nice folio of "Legends of the Ancients". Its for the apple ][ series. Man, I would kill to find a midi keyboard at my local Goodwill. They don't even have games at mine. :'(
+furrymessiah The second hand shops over here rarely have anything other then clothes :(

is it just me or does this episode have a very point and click adventure tang to it?
I love these videos! I always get really excited for them! I have seen every single episode and watched them in a whole marathon! I'm also early! :)
There are few pleasures greater than waking up on your birthday with LGR, especially LGR Thrifts. Thanks, man!
Great video, I hope you are enjoying your new house! Hopefully enough room for more collections of things.
Thank you, I am! More room than ever :)
I picked up that same Packard Bell keyboard a few months ago. It's actually really nice! I was surprised to find one as bright and clean as it was.
Oh. My. God. THIS is the ORIGIN of the Lucky Rock!
I'm binge watching your Thrift Videos. You sir, are a witty comedic genius.
8:30 - "It looks like 1971 threw up..." - ROFL!! Had to rewind due to laughter. :D
How you can make thrift shopping videos so entertaining is beyond me.
love ur thrifts episodes and everything else you do.
Oh yeah. Other than the relatively cheap plastic housing, they're surprisingly good keyboards!
@ 16:19 Looks like some has committed...
*glasses on*
...a Geneside!
YYYYYYEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!
That magnétophone for teaching languages was used by my French class in the mid-2000s! Our school was rather underfunded, so all our language supplements were still on that. Wow, that brings back memories!
The theater kid in me geeked out at that Drowsy Chaperone cast recording. Good find, anonymous viewer!
Fill up your house with stuff... you mean like stuff packs?! LOL
Thank you, I'm glad you're enjoying!
I have no idea why look forward to your thrift vids so much. Best thing I ever found was in 97 at a Salvation Army I got a 74 Sears Pong machine CIB for $5. Usually it's clothes, depression, and CRT TVs.
Closure on VHS is a super score!! I've had that since 1997 or so.
* LGR looks at a tree * Needs more wood grain.
Only episode 25?! It feels like a lot more! Anyway, keep up the great work and it's amazing that something as simple as going to thrift stores can be so interesting to watch :p
Love this series LGR! That language master looks pretty cool actually!
The switches on the VCR under the panel were for manually tuning the channels. You hit the button to select it and use the dial to tune in a channel. If you had particularly good OTA reception, you might not have enough tuning slots for all the channels.
Didn´t even watched the full video yet (starting now), but because a new video was uploaded, the first thing I had to do is a thumbs up :)

thx for given me something to look forward to after school
"Let's go thrifting" My favourite thing to hear ever.
I don't even care about any of this stuff but I still eagerly await every episode of LGR Thrifts.
LGR Thrifts the best show on you tube, i love it!!
I still use my old Panasonic RC-7021 I picked up at a thrift store years ago.
Wow, that's a killer idea. I'd love to see it in action!
I'll see what I can do about that ;)
I love you! These thrift videos are like christmas
I see techmoan has influenced you :)
Yep!
Aurelius R Don't you mean "NIИ"?
So I feel influenced by technoan, the 8 bit guy and LGR as well.
I have a feeling that someday his collection will be in a museum as the last remaining copies.
can you do a tour of the new place?
Whoa, thanks for putting in my thrift findings! Twice infact!
10:28 - Is there a single Goodwill on the face of the Earth that DOESN'T have at least one copy of Titanic on VHS? Did they make like 5 billion copies of this movie? Most time, I see 3-4 copies in the same store!

"Even though I'll probably never use one again!" And then the VHS backup system happened.
Thrift video's will nevet get old. Best form of relaxing video on youtube ;-)
@07:44 - Walking on the rock paid off again. :-)
Can't wait for that oddware video on the musicstar keyboard!
hey that ipod dock thing in 9:57 is the same as we have in school in the netherlands
i found that same exact nine inch nails 2xvhs at goodwill. rad!
james woodard that nine inch nails tape is amazing
12:42 - Oh man I remember having that one! Holy damn, only it actually had double cassette players if i remember correctly, which was amazing back then. Cool video for nostalgic moments!
Goddamn, that VCR and General Electric Radio are so amazing - wish I stumbled across more stuff like that in our area!
It's nice to take a break from college and watch a guy thrift for 18 minutes.
"Looks like it would fall apart if you fart on it wrong." LOL made my day
Jeez I can imagine moving with your collection is a big task! Gl dude.

Greetings from germany!
7:41 YES! NOW WE'RE TALKING!!! MUSICSTAR!
I remember that from my days of Windows 3.1! However, we couldn't get the darn thing to work correctly!
That blur record was awesome, I love translucent records!
My parents used to own that sound design unit.
"Girls who are boys
Who like boys to be girls
Who do boys like they're girls
Who do girls like they're boys
Always should be someone you really love"
Always loved that song! Nice find Clint! I think I actually still have some translucent vinyls around here as well from my old DJing days. :)

@6:55 I thought he was gonna vomit with excitement lol
LOL I am sitting next to that same cheap SoundDesign stereo right now, I miss my nice Fisher Hi-Fi stack. The Fisher VCR was cool to see, I have had a lot of their audio stuff from the same Studio Standard lineup
At my local walmart they have what is essentially the block rocker but upgraded. It's still got a dock but also bluetooth and aux as well as usb for charging. Still freaking huge though.
