    Came across your video while searching how to make one. Did exactly as you did and success. Thanks for sharing this.

    Very nicely done man. This is the “build on the fly” stuff you don’t see much of these days. Using what you have to get stuff done.

      Thank you! I can’t believe how good it works. Could use a little more weight though. I plowed with it this morning pretty aggressively expecting it to break and it did not🤷‍♂️

    You could have spent perhaps 10 Grand on a Western blade package and maybe 60 grand on a new 4x4 truck OR you could invest a bit of intelligent thinking and design a plow for your existing 4 wheeler from a few wood scraps and hardware items for $12. My money is on the $12 bit of genius. EVEN the worst case, if it lasted only one season You still only have $12 and a bit of time and FUN invested. VERY, very worthwhile project. Power angle could easily be added with a second winch if desired. That could push the total investment to perhaps $100 total. Nice going. I'm impressed. As a side note. Several decades ago, I purchased one of the first and perhaps only electric winter blades for my older Ford 4x4 pickup for $1000. Everyone and I mean everyone just laughed at me for such audacity when All of the Pro's thought that an expensive 8 to 10 grand hydraulic plow would be required for our Canadian winters ! Long story short, I ploughed my home and business plus a host of rental properties and even one of my commercial parking lots for years and years. The only repair was replacing the winch strap with a cable. That's it. Now who was the bigger fool? Greetings from Ontario, Canada.

      I still use a Sno-Bear plow on my 98' Nissan Frontier farm truck, and it's big brother, a Winter Wolf plow on my 09' F150 daily driver, here in upstate NY. Nobody ever laughed at me for having them all those years ago. My buds who had fancy hydraulic plows.... don't have them anymore. I got the Sno-Bear minus the winch motor for free many years ago. I put a Harbor Freight winch on it, and have used it without problems since then. I paid $250 dollars for the used 7' Winter Wolf that has the same simple peg and pin mounting system, so I can switch plows on each truck if I wanted to. I put factory plow shoes and an aftermarket hand controller on the bigger plow blade. Love them both!

    I'm going to build the exact same thing I just couldn't think of a good way to attach it to the ball hitch. Thanks for that.

      So I built mine. It was just a bit too light. So I made a spot to put a sand bag up front. Works great now.

    The winch thing is pretty effin smart for lowering and raising. Going to buy a winch for my truck ASAP and gonna do the same thing

    How long does the wood last before it wears down and needs to be replaced?

    • @mxacres
      @mxacres  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I used it a couple winters and it was still good.

    I wonder if you can do another video of making a hand lift instead of a winch I like the plough you made I’d like to do one for my four wheeler would be neat, but I don’t have a winch. Be nice to have a hand lift.
