The Royal Kludge RK61, in my opinion, is one of the best and cheapest 60% Mechanical Keyboard out in the market. It has decent build quality, good layer implementation and performs decently in both wired and wireless mode. It is one of the better alternatives to the popular Anne Pro 2.

I think you just convinced me to buy my first 60% keyboard.
Update: i just bought it and the learning curve is pretty easy.
Another update: switched to 65% instead. It's the sweetspot.
I'm using this keyboard for a week now and I'm in love with it
I like it, not sure if I want to exchange it for the RK71 though, I use arrow keys all the time, so it’s annoying to press FN + Enter after scrolling in something in like an mmo and need to ask something.

Great review! Was considering this keyboard but that need to press three keys to make a question mark is a deal breaker for me. Sad because everything else was fine. Thank you for this video for letting me know about that feature.

Not sure about side button but you can use it for the main mouse buttons

Planning to buy a rk84 soon, are those rk brown switches really that bad? Would you recommend instead going for rk red?
my rk61 has latency issues on a 2015 laptop. I tried it on my old laptop and my friend's laptop (both laptop models from the same year), and found that there's a lot of latency. But when using it on my desktop, there isn't any latency. My desktop has a bluetooth 5.0 chip inside. Thats probably the reason why it has latency.

Yes, any ANSI standard, cherry MX cross stem style switches will fit on this

hi, here a proud n happy owner of this kb. im just wondering tho: i there any way/key combination to switch between the profiles on the fly? im a macro uer, and with how few key there are at one disposal, one cant jut have a key linked to a macro all the time, so being able to switch between a "normal" layer and a "macro" one is practically the only way to make it work
To be honest, I am not sure that's possible given its quite basic software. However, you can probably research about "auto hotkey" software

@@dinosharttt do you recommend the brown switches? i’m a bit stuck between getting them or reds. i’d use the keyboard for mainly gaming but also a bit of typing
the new one offers hotswap and 2.4ghz connection... thats almost perfect except of the missing aluminium button
i swapped the switches out with bobau4 silent which made that thing the perfekt keyboard for me ofc including pbt 1.5mm keycaps

hey. my i clicked fn+ right shift to bring back the slash key (aka the question mark key) and its stuck in arrow key mode. what do i do?
You can try doing the same key combinations to activate the normal layer.
Fn+enter to change arrow key layers
I have the non-RGB version and they improved the layer implementation. I just got mine yesterday and it uses "Fn+Enter" to toggle between Ctrl and Arrow Keys instead of "Fn+Left Shift". To access '?' you only need to press "Right Shift + ?" while in Arrow Keys mode. Using "Left Shift + ?" will work as "Shift + Up Arrow " (useful for highlighting lines of text). If you don't use the right Ctrl keys much, I would advise you leave it at Arrow Keys mode.
The spacebar no longer has that dreaded red LED when charging. Instead it blinks upon connection to indicate battery status

If you are in bluetooth mode. The software of the keyboard cannot detect wireless. You must be in wired mode to use the software.

I have this keyboard for 5 months now, i accidentally spilled my drink in the kb. I thought it wouldn't work but i cleaned it and opened the keyboard and cleaned the spill then it worked again.
It’s good for casual gaming or typing but if you are going to be gaming on it for 6+ hours a day the W key and Shift key will stop working after a month or so. Would not suggest this keyboard at all going for a hot swappable keyboard then when you switches do break you can swap it out and put in a fresh one

Can somebody help me? I can't seem to use the software. I've tried every software out there and it keeps saying "gaming device not found" after I open the program. I've tried it in wired and wireless mode, different ports, etc...

Hey tech, i bought the rk61 rgb with red switches and i am a little worried about your opinion: this keyboard have a good quality and it can be qualified as the level of the anne pro 2 or the gk61?
I think it is really good and the price is affordable
To any potential buyer out there, I have the keyboard and got it on amazon for 55$ on a lightning deal, it is usually 65$, Got it with reds , after 2 weeks using the keyboard, the "K" key and the W key started not registering always, my character ingame stopped running forward, you can already imagine my frustration when this happened. Just yesterday when I was trying to pause a video in youtube with the space bar, it didn't register the first / first two times, I pressed the spacebar further into the switch and it seems to no longer be doing this, again , I've been using this keyboard for barely 4 weeks now. The RGB is beautiful and the aesthetics of the keyboard as well, nice experience typing, is just the reliability of the switches that has me worried.I saw like 10-15 other reviews experiencing the same issue. with the "A"/ "W"/ "D" keys. etc.

itsJaySzn _ he got the same keyboard just non rgb version. The non-rgb is the cheaper one. The white one comes with blue and the black one only comes yellow if you don’t get the rgb version
@@keviivfx626 No, I take good care of my belongings in general, that keyboard looks and feels like new, but the switches have some trouble registering, I think it might be cuz the keyboard is not FULLY NKRO, I've noticed yesterday while playing fortnite, I would press A and W or D to move around and the character started moving only left / right but not W unless I pressed the W again, which was annoying,

Rk61 because i have not had a motospeed ck62 but ive had two rk61s and they have never broke
