Recovery is the thing. Instant? One day? Two days? Three days? I read from one source that if the athlete hasn't recovered after three days, then that session wasn't appropriate at that moment in time. I prefer the instant time frame myself. At the other end of the scale I know of a tri-athlete who did an Iron-man in a good time and never stopped training or competing. Their health is currently wrecked. And they still force themselves to do a Parkrun each week. Madness.
Niels even if he was capable of running 50km under 4h7m was biking in at 200w,230W for 5h as a easy session. He moved to 260W as a easy only later in his carrier
Really awesome, Stephen Seiler has a unique way of sharing knowledge, and congratulations also to the interviewers because they squeezed the opportunity and put so many relevant questions on the table. Seiler, along with Iñigo San Millan and Sebastian Weber are in my opinion three capital references nowadays. Excellent show.
1:05:40 damn I thought the literal opposite method (spreading harder sessions more evenly) would be smarter. I wonder if this works also if u are preparing for a marathon and not triathlon..
Every time I listen to Dr Seiler I learn something new. He's got such a great way of explaining training concepts.
He really does
Enjoyed Dr Seiler talk at Leeds Beckett University last month
Yeah we enjoy all his talks haha
What is a good resource to help build a cardio program that stacks well with weight lifting
We did a specific episode on this with a great strength coach: "Improving Strength + Efficiency for Triathletes and Cyclists w/ Ryan Worn - Ep 144"

Awesome Work! THX 👋🏻👍🏻👌🏻
I know I’m way late but what a great interview.
Having listened & watched many training video's, this by far is the most comprehensive one I've come across. Incredible content. 👍👍
Wow thanks for the great feedback
