I was just telling a younger friend this yesterday that she must maintain her good quality muscle. She is 52 and I 63. I still crush the weights 3 days on 1 off then repeat. HIT training with time restriction eating is how I do it now. I thank you for alway keeping me up on the science for a longer healthier life.

People just don’t get it. I’m a 62 year old truck driver and I still do squats, deadlifts, and presses 3 days a week, plus I push/pull heavy pallets around at my job all day. I work with guys who are half my age and are in horrible shape. Then there are the guys who have every excuse; I’m too old, I have bad knees, I have a bad back, etc. These same guys are the ones who can be seen throwing their money away in the snack machine and eating donuts every time the sales team buys them.

I am 53 and have been running and mountain biking for 12 years now. I started crossfit also eight months ago. I had blood work done and got results yesterday. I was very surprised that my testosterone was 869. My Naturopath Doctor reminded me that this is because of my healthy exercise (5-10 hours a week depending on how I feel) and good diet. I do need to cut out sugars and started doing just that yesterday.

My Dr thought I had stage 1 kidney disease because my creatinine levels were “above the normal range”. He referred me to a nephrologist and long story short, my blood work as well as the imaging of my kidneys showed they were normal and healthy. But I had to get Cystatin C blood test and imaging done to confirm…I have a muscular frame as well as train quite intensely 4 to 5 times a week…when it comes to looking at traditional bloodwork that shows kidney function, elevated creatinine levels can give false positives if you have a lot of muscle and do high intensity exercise sometimes.

Most people who have alot of weight to lose or strongly focuses on old and outdated methods of weight loss, there is a very good chance that during that weight loss, that person will end up simultaneously losing a bunch of muscle and develop terrible body composition being skinny fat w/ loose skin and little to no muscle on the legs and arms, skinny fat...
So often all of that weight loss and pro starvation diets like so many people end up doing, counting calories and endless cardio sessions are all catabolic and will actually slow down your long term weight loss goals vs being pro muscle building and pro anabolic which will help accelerate weight loss...
Fighting and preventing cancer via weight loss is just one component of someone's health, it should be a path to get healthier and stronger, and weight loss should be a piece of that vs the sole target as people still rampantly push weight loss goals and then end up gaining it back because they found a quick solution but then the body reverts back, and people should be adding muscle and slowly getting the weight off as that will ensure someone does not lose muscle while pursuing the weight loss.

It’s been more than a year now since I visited the doctor. I get the occasional fever. And I just ride it out. I tell people at home to do the same because we are all healthy enough to deal with occasional fevers without the need for multiple sleep inducing, digestion disrupting pills daily, but they are too indoctrinated by the idea that doctors know everything. There’s so much new research coming out and the new wave of truly healthy people will be those that study everything and intuitively manage their health. The same people that take the age old “prevention is better than cure” advice seriously and eat right, build strength, sleep well, do natural activities, keep their brains healthy, and do not indulge in medicines frivolously. My dad has been taking antacids for years now and I try to tell him the simple ways to end it for good but he just brushes it off. My parents are both slightly overweight, like most of the population, and I try to get them to adopt intermittent fasting and occasional long term fasts and to get more exercise to feel energised and strong instead of thinking they should save energy now that they are old and need it for day to day tasks. And now slowly they’re starting to listen to me after they are observing how I am dedicated to maintaining myself and improving at the age of 25. But what worries me is that there will be a huge population of extremely unfit people everywhere in just another decade because we will be seeing how most of the genZ population will lose their natural youthful virility and dip hard because of a lack of lifelong healthy practices. Do yourselves a favour and stay healthy, and there’s always more you can be doing so stop making excuses.

The Monkeyfoot is an excellent way to isolate a handful of small muscles such as the Tibia, and the Hip Flexors that are hard to sufficiently stimulate through most conventional lower body exercises. That being said, compound movements such as Squats, Bench Press, Deadlifts, Rows, Pull-ups, and Overhead Press are the most superior lifts you can integrate into your workout program to build muscle mass sufficient enough to fully attain the benefits Mike is discussing. That being said tools like the Monkeyfoot , bands, and tibia bar are great for incorporating accessory movements to the aforementioned lifts.

Yeah I think it's because organs have a symbiotic relationship. Once you have a lot of muscle it forces the other organs to function properly. It also takes up glycogen. This means a very muscular, but obese person will find it very difficult to say, get diabetes. Still, I think the studies show that strength is more important than just muscle size, so a healthy central nervous system and strong dense bones seems better than the regulating muscle. So some heavy lifting should be done, not just going for the pump

    • @DomFortress
      @DomFortress ปีที่แล้ว

Agree, especially now science recognizes that muscles are organs that communicate with other organs during force generation. And surely when BMI doesn't consider body composition, people with low body fat percentage yet high lean muscle mass, can still have BMI in the obese range yet metabolically healthy. I train in both powerlifting and kickboxing, with a BMI of 27.8, yet I can go for a 40+ hours fast to loose my visceral fat score from 9 down to 7, while consistently doing a 19-5 time restricted feeding protocol while I trained in a fasted state.

Triglycerides are INEVITABLE. They are just fatty acids attached to a glycerol molecule. Glycerol is glycerin 😑. A completely healthy and manufactured chemical within the body. LDL aren't even bad either. It is only the oxidized "small dense" particles that even are, and those wouldn't be a problem if someone didn't already have endothelial damage (holes for then to pass through).
Burning fats releases triglycerides! If you fast, they are made. If you eat keto, they are there. Even on carnivore they are there too. Triglycerides only become a problem, just like when cholesterol becomes a problem: WITH SICK PEOPLE! They already have insulin issues, and the glucose coupled with triglycerides reign fully within the bloodstream, becoming oxidized because the cells don't utilize energy properly. If we can't have triglycerides. THEN DON'T EVEN LIVE! Treat the root causes, and no other NATURAL factor will ever be a contributing factor. They become oxidized while left in the bloodstream because we consume inflammatory, oxidizing diets. Amen and amen. 💯🙏👍

What is the qualifications of this channel owner ? I was surprised to see dangerous advice dispensed about Stevia in the video about Fasting for Fat loss. Erythritol in Stevia has been linked to heart attacks, strokes and death. The author pushed Stevia without any warning

    This is extremely interesting.
Previous research has shown that high protein diets are deleterious to health (particularly in kidney dialysis patients). Muscle may exhibit a protective effect negating high protein diets or potentially one or both of the studies are bad.

Need to recommend light resistance training and light movement like walking for the vaxxed. Stay away from strenuous exercise or hardcore resistance training until you have done a detailed heart checkup. That will save lives. Many people that are vaxxed have undiagnosed heart issues and don't even know it. Making them a ticking time bomb for a heart attack. Even the vaxxed athletes that look in the best physical shape and healthy are getting heart attacks now.

It seems that you're making the mistake of confusing correlation for cause and effect.
It's almost certain that lower muscle mass would be the result of poorer health.
It's a bit more speculative that higher muscle mass prevents poorer health.

I haven't seen the full video yet. But if this is true, why don't body builders and the like live longer. As in what do they do the negates the benefit of all the muscle that they build?

I am so damned lazy! Show us a way to effectively and efficiently build muscle.
I just started HIIT using a spin bike while being on Keto (love it) and intermittent fasting, with my first 3-day fast.
Is there a "lazy" way to get some old lady guns? 😂

Yes there is. I take amino acids and they build your muscles up even if you don't work out. Advanced Bionutritionals is where I order from. In the U.S. take 4 or 5 a day. Been taking them for about 2 years. They make a big difference.
