This night changed my life. Not only was I introduced to a whole new world I never knew about (animated music videos weren't as common back then), two of my favorite bands, but the final video of the night literally awakened me. Seeing a video like that changes a person (especially when you're only 11).

Yup August 31st 2001. The day before I turned 12, and 11 days before everything went to shit in America. I got one of the best Bday gifts that night. Glad Toonami is coming back, I knew about Gorillaz before Toonami, but they introduced me to Daft Punk.

It now makes me sad that I never knew about or watched this, back when I was only 6-years-old. From my (pre-)teens, I've always known about Gorillaz, but I never got into them until last month, when I finally decided to start listening to them. My younger sister, on the other hand, strongly believes that she had seen the "Clint Eastwood" video on TV before.

The night this aired was the same time I knew about Adult Swim coming onto Cartoon Network for the first time. Very short notice, but still...it was once great Labor Day Weekend of 2001.
Good thing I came home an hour before that started, and this was back when I was in marching band. We had an away game, and it rained on us throughout the whole high school football game. Lost my Bret "The Hitman" Hart/Emmitt Brown shades on the way back :/

+James Robinson + Jeremy Canton I have it, too. I taped on it on VHS when I was 8, then transferred it onto a DVD using a VHS to DVD recorder several years later. I might be willing to make some copies, and sell them for $15 plus shipping if anyone is interested. I am backing up the DVD to my computer right now. There are some VHS artifacts, especially during "One More Time", which have pretty much always been there. (I should have used a better tape.) You can find these videos on the official Gorillaz and Daft Punk DVD's in far better quality, but hey, if you still want to see them in this format, then by all means, let me know.

They're both songs by Daft Punk. The track playing at 1:01 is called "One More Time". The one at 1:52 is caleld "Digital Love".
