Tell you being volunteer at railway for 4 years now is wonderful, staff engines and changing of season in forest is wonderful. Plus it restores a nice bit history back in one of south west England railways...
Thanks for volunteering, it's such a well run railway in a beautiful location. Everyone was really nice, especially the young lad who met us at the platform and pointed us towards our coach. Also, love the model shop! Can't wait to get back down post lock down.
Great video well filmed and edited. Really liked the shot of 5541 powering away from Norchard towards Lydney and the shot of her waiting in the low level platform at the end before backing out with the coaches! Amazing video!
Your Heritage Railways series is great. The format, including historical details, is particularly good. Hope to see some more, perhaps with a few 'behind the scenes' shots (shed, locos, restoration projects etc.) although I appeciate access to these areas is not always possible. Dave M
Thanks Dave! Unfortunately I think these are going to be on hold for a while owing to the second lockdown. I would love to get a backstage pass at these railways, but I'll I'll ask next time I visit. Don't ask, don't get.
Just had a watch, nice video! Looks like you got the weather too. We're slowly working our way around the heritage railways in the arera, either Gloucester & Warwickshire or Churnet Valley next. It's a shame that most aren't fully open during the pandemic. The book shop carraige at Dean Forest was pretty impressive and I picked up some second hand bits for the layout.
@@TimberSurf Haha, more wagons for the database! What were they? The chap in the shop said the model stuff had been selling really quickly. I got a Metcalfe station and a few figures, but that was about it.
Love the scenery on this railway. Such a beautiful place!
It really is!

Great video. Loved the pan as you followed the train along the line.
Nice to see some women involved.
Thank you very much!

Beautiful place, really enjoyed that, post a diesel review next time 👍
Thanks! I need to find a heritage railway running a diesel.

Excellent video. Not so keen on the audio track.
I visited recently and made a similar video, shame there was little to see other than the actual ride.

Bargain!
Some great footage, but I'd prefer it if your music track didn't run right through the video.
It's music or silence I'm afraid, there's loads of chatting in the background (not from me) that I can't publish.
