The headset (bottom left audio jack) is plugged in which muffles engine audio to simulate low pass that you get while wearing an aviation headset. If this was unchecked, you could hear the engine sound in its full loud and crisp glory. Recorded G-BUNC, a real world Wilga in the UK for the sounds. ;)
Probably recorded on the ground, near the hangar or the forest. It sounds a little bit like turboprop engine in flight. In reality in flight it sounds different.
@@droge192 Man, you said it. I saw one land at an airshow around 1965. I thought it was some kind of helecopter/fixed-wing hybrid. It practically landed like one.

That is exactly how a IO-540 Wilga sounds.... as rough as a bag of nails!

The Wilga really sounds like that. King Kong using an oil drum full of machine parts for a cassinette.
