I recently went back and finished the rainbow I had started when I was five. I didn't love latch hooking that much, but it was the gateway drug that got me into sewing and crochet, so I'm glad I did it :)

Yes. I agree!! I remember working as a telephone operator on routing shifts, and teaching my co-workers how to latch hook. There was one guy who became hooked. Now, if I can master other crafts as easily!! I so want to be crafty!
That's so neat you don't hear of latch hooking anymore what's funny with this is I was cleaning out a tote and I found a latch hook project that my mom made and she probably made it back in the late seventies it still looks great I'm going to get it dry cleaned and put it back up

I really don't care for it. BUT!! As an artist , I absolutely love it's original design idea. One of a kind , I like that.
Very popular craft in the 70s. We would hand cut the yarn sections to hook the rugs and the canvas would destroy your hands. Still was lots of fun.
