I saw this video for the first time months ago. It spontanously appeared on my feed and reminded me on my long time child dream of having crabs. Now I’m slowly working on building my own palundarium. I love your aesthetic - natural, not too ‚jungley’ or tropical feeling, perfect balance in plants and hardscape, perfect size. Cant wait to house some crabs in my own paludarium.
This channel deserves more recognition tbh it's calm and quite satisfying seeing you make this beautiful paludarium and other tanks And the crabs! ugh I've been trying to get my hands on one of these for years now I'm so jealous

I like this scape design a lot. I was thinking of a new scape to rescape my 25g all day and this gave me a great idea with mine. It works better than the other ones I had in mind since I only have 3 pieces of drift wood so I can work with that for this design and using coral rocks. THanks for the inspiration and cool video!

You should consider getting vampire crabs maybe 😊 I'm obsessed with them. Admittedly I have a weakness for colorful animals.

im thinking of starting a live aquarium i know this vid is a bit old but i have a question :) for the drift wood where should i get it from anywhere? outside? my local steam? i’m assuming i’d clean it first.
You can use wood from your own property, just make sure to thoroughly boil and clean it so you don't introduce any pests and or disease into your aquarium. Personally it's much easier to buy some online or grab some from your local aquarium stores, as there is much more variety and I don't have to worry too much about making sure it's aquarium safe.

Gorgeous setup and great production quality on the vid! I've only really been successful in keeping medium-large aquariums so far. I've had a couple micro setups but I've found that if one thing dies, it quickly poisons the water for everything else. Do you have any tips for sustaining a small setup like this long term?

Thank you for your kind words about the setup! It's a valid concern about crabs potentially escaping from an open tank. Regarding the crabs potentially eating the moss or shrimp, it depends on the species of crab and their individual behavior.
That water pump cable is a great way for those crabs to escape. As long as you have something coming out of the tank, those crabs are able to climb it. Speaking from experience.

The setup is pretty good and inivative, but the problem I have is how much of a trouble it will be to actually get the pump out and do some cleaning or maintenance.
Why is this tank oddly nostalgic like I’ve seen this *Place* before like somewhere in the wild because It’s kinda creeping me out in only here just for a tutorial because i found vampire crabs in c k fish world but this is giving me the chills 💀

I’m not the TH-camr but I wouldn’t recommend making it open topped, I’ve kept them quite a few times and they can climb cables fairly well.
Thats my main concern with crabs. I hate waking up every morning to see if any has escaped.
I think the lid must have on the tank.
