Easily Make Captions & Foreign-Language Subtitles in CapCut on the Desktop

- An Amazing feature in CapCut (Mac or PC computers) is the auto-captions function which will automatically transcribe the spoken word from your video and place it in the proper place in the time line. CapCut makes it easy for you to go back and fine-tune the captions, though they are extremely accurate write out of the box. In this video, I also show you how I export the English transcription in an .srt file, cut and past it in to Deep-L, and then easily drag and drop the foreign-language translation subtitles into the timeline.

Garr THANK YOU!! Took me MONTHS to find a video like yours that does what I need. I have friends/family of different languages and needed captions in 2 languages... I have the free version on my Mac desktop (recently downloaded) and had no problem exporting the video or dragging the SRT!!

NOTE: When I made this video, you did not need the pro version to export your finished video. However, if you do not have the pro version, you can still generate subtitles using the CapCut website. The interface is similar. Log on to your free capcut account, then import your video without the subtitles. In Capcut you can first generate subtitles in the original spoken language that is in the video (“Captions" on the left sidebar). Then, at the very bottom, there is small “Translation” button (a mark with the letter A and Chinese script). This will translate your generated text, replacing it with the new language. www.capcut.com/

Thanks for a great video. If you could please advice, apparently there's no punctuation marks (comma, full stop, question mark etc) in the captions. Is there a way to automatically do that, otherwise doing it manually is such a tedious task specially for long videos. Help please!
While I like change in the software all lots this used to be a built-in function

Yes, you are right. Sorry about that. It was free at the time I made the video. I am very impressed with Cap Cut ( I use Resolve myself mostly) and I think upgrading to Pro would be very much worth it, but I understand that may be difficult for students, etc. Thanks for the heads up.

I did it but the srt just got 1min30sec of the captions, my video is 8min 30sec, i wanted to transport whole caption, what should i do in this case? i would appreciate if u can help me, thanks in advance!

I cannot add subtitles in two languages in this method. How to do it?
I had to first get pro version and then when want to bring in the translated text, paste it back into the same exact text doc, dont use a new document or change the name. It didn't work if I used new text document. Then I dragged it into timeline and it worked.
@shawn2521 I tried to get the pro version for a week now, but it doesn't seem possible. They don't even answer when I ask support 😮

Sorry. When I made the video, the feature was free. I have not tried the online version yet, but it may be free. So you could edit your video without translation and then use the website to get the translation done and embedded in the video? Perhaps this will work? Try here. they say it is free to translate: www.capcut.com/tools/video-translator (Update: I tried it and it works, see comment above).
is that only available on capcut Pro ? which version are you using ?
At the time I made the video, it was free. But as of today (Jan 2, 2024) I did find that it requires Pro to export the video. Pro is worth it for sure, but I understand that it may be difficult for students etc.
