I wonder if wynton his dad or any other family members were watching the performance. Additionally the wyane shorter tune yes or no was so great in this set
Could be that Kenny was dealing with addiction issues so couldn't engage listening enough, thus he was playing out of the pocket, not listening and reacting to Branford, and playing too busy and in the way?
@@JimManerieven though Kenny struggled with certain things, It’s hard for for me to grasp that someone interpreted Kenny’s comping as a mistake. Harmonically and rhythmically everything he’s playing is aligned with the band/style/composition. I think It was probably an on stage tech issue.
So nice to see a transcription so the rest of us mortal sax players can learn a thing or two. And listen to a fantastic performance at the same time.
Branford is a living legend. The coolest cat around.
Freddie Hubbard , he gave me a few vandoren V16 reeds to try which he spoke highly of. He has the best tone for sure.
"how close can I get to playing the licc without actually playing the licc"
Tastefully done solo by Branford.Thumbs up here.

Thanks for sharing this.

Wow!
Nice job dude! Love this solo😁
Any guesses as to what he was trying to figure out or fix at the beginning? My guess is sound issue.
That's probably a good guess, at first I thought something happened in the rhythm section

@@JimManeri Hard to say, he plays the correct chords but quite busy, so maybe you are right
