Thanks for sharing. The end was funny, with Alex striking a power ranger kind of pose and the comentator doing some shadow suburi.

+Matheus Rebelo well takenouchi locked him in a bit in order to prevent him from doing proper zanshin...
but you are right the oji-waza wasnt textbook-like... however with that high level of skill really makes things difficult :)

The hit also wasn't that strong. A big part of kendo is that you always have your right foot forwards and left foot back, which means if you're doing a rising cut (which the Korean's kote cut became) you lose a lot of strength because your body's twist is physically preventing you from using strength. Furthermore, to use the attack Takenouchi had to pull his right arm in, further reducing the impact speed.
TLDR that Korean's cut was weak and wouldn't have gotten a point anyways. It's the same as if Takenouchi just hit a normal head strike.

15:15 it’s not the wrist... kote in jananese 小手 means forearm

Kendo should be an Olympic sport.

Even though I'd highly appreciate that kendo would be given a huge amount of spectators by doing that thus making it more popular, I have to object this. Kendo would lose its spiritual aspect , it would be only a sport based on achievements and glory rather than making the Kendoka dealing with Kendo and himself and its meanings.

@@user-rf2yh1vw6q I agree, judo gained a lot more practitioners, but lost a lot of techniques
