The Creggan White Hare (Daoiri Farrell cover)

For my 50th birthday I got a brand new bouzouki as birthday present from my mum and what a wonderful gift this is! This really adds to my Irish folk repertoire as it creates that typical Irish folk sound.
Luckily it didn't take me too long to get a grip on this instrument, to feel the sound and the typical way of playing which is different from (and at the same time reminiscent of) a guitar.
When I started searching for bouzouki songs I almost instantly bumped into the works for the great Daoiri Farrell, a great, young Irish musician who not only is a master in playing the bouzouki - he also has a great voice to sing these songs.
As I am currently discovering the bouzouki, I will come up with some other recordings for sure. For now, I hope you enjoy my first rendition of 'The Creggan White Hare'.

Thanks and how wonderful that you wached the whole video til the end! Yeah, it was a little Easter Egg as there were some German tourist cyclists who stopped to watch & listened and who started applauding at the end. Luckily I hadn’t noticed them during the recording so the surprise and thank you ate the end were genuine 😁🤟🏾

Thanks a lot! Yeah, Daoiri Farrell plays it in a different key but that's a bit too high for my voice so I'd tuned it down half a note

Great rendition well done I have that Hora Irish bouzouki it’s a amazing instrument . I also play that tune as well but I have a nice looking sound hole cover in line as it is so loud when playing with a plectrum ,so I fingerpick all my tunes , 👌👌
