    Every acoustic signal is made by the mouth. However, the loopstation offers ways to alter the signal, like adding a stutter effect or filtering out all low frequencies e.g.
    Some OG loopers like MB14 like to keep it raw and only use the soundeffects made with traditional beatboxing and just add some light reverb and stuff. Rythmind did win an unreleased version of the loopstation (MK2) prior to GBB so yeah, it's true :)
    Man, beatboxing is the craziest rabbit hole. I'm stuck for years. Do it. It's so worth it :)

      Hey thanks for watching and commenting Henry. I’m still mind blown by this stuff. You mean mb14 didn’t do any filters on that one I saw? That’s insane but it’s a rabbit hole I’ll be going down for sure

      Tiny caveat on the "made by the mouth" part that's not 100% true. They can also slap, tap, bang the mic. Also some sounds don't require the mouth at all. Example: putting the mic directly on your throat.

    They can turn the volume on what their putting into the mic all the way down while they record the loop and add the available effects.
    And turnnit back up when they want to add it, or pause it until ready.
    Or they can have what their putting into the mic play live and alter it in real time

    Split decision just means that the vote wasn't unanimous, it means the same thing everywhere. Since the number of judges is not even. overtime can only happen if any of the judges can't decide who to vote for. Although I think they don't do overtimes anymore, so judges must decide right there and then

    edit: for more context (i dont know if it's true i only heard about it) about the mk1 vs mk2 part, when brez says "so you have a sequencer on your loopstation? i have one too, look!" brez doesn't actually have a sequencer he just improvised by using a bunch of the sound editors

    Said this to a comment about u watching bizkit, but it had a lot of other useful info, so i just copied it to here to make sure u saw it:
    Some more confusing info. Bizkit is using the MK1(The older machine, that people like MB14 and people from videos before 21 used) People now, almost everybody is using the MK2 now, because it has a lot of newer effect, and making it even easier to put effects quickly and so on. But Bizkit is still using a MK1, and did both in 21 and in 23, which is a crazy disadvantage to give yourselfs(Hes just more used to that, so he keeps on using it, not like a "im better than everbody so thats why") Have that in mind when u watch Bizkit, that he has to do everything the tradiotional way, while still making it sounds as clean and sick as the MK2 are able to, i really reccommend Bizkit. First watch his gbb 21 wildcard, then his 21 battles, and then his 24 battles.
    ALSO, the GBB have split loopstation in 2 categories now. Loopstation and producer. Loopstation u are only allowed to use your loopstation and no 2nd devices. Producer is way more like dj, even tho everything has to be mouth triggered still. But you can use 2nd devices, which helps a lot with all kinds of stuff. Just so u know in the future. They did this because 2nd devices made so much of a difference, that it was tough to judge like a mk1 user without 2nd device against a mk2 with 2nd devices.
    People are also using a lot of silent record, where they record something only they can hear, to suddenly put like 4 things play at once, to give that shock effect. They use filter and all that while silent recording also, so they have time to put a lot of things and almost stand there and DJ it, while only the looper is able to hear it, so it sounds even cooler when unmuting. Sorry for my bad egnlsih, hope it makes sense.
    Rythmind headshot rounds, is also a throwback to his final battle of 2019 because he did a legendary round called hadshot, which became a meme in community. Its not diss talking that brez did headshot signals, its just to acknowledge the legendary status it has. Everybody on the scene is friends, and usually the night before when practicing people share their routines with eachother. So brez and Rythmind heard eachothers rounds the night before, and iddnt say exactly what they would say to eachother, but like a gist of it, so they could prepare for eachother. Everybody wants to win, but at the end of the day its a performance and everybody is friends.
    A great example of how powerful the MK2 is, is rythminds 2nd round with Thunderstruck. That wouldnt be possible on Mk1. Rythmind got the mk2 right before the Gbb, with Frosty, Robin, M-age, KBA, MAtej to name a few. They got it from a competition called Kbb(kickback battle) where all the judges and participants got a prototype of the new machine(The Mk2 would drop after gbb 21) and it was decided to let them use the mk2 in gbb21, even tho it wasnt available to the public. The mk2 had a lot of bugs tho, and still has to this day, which is also kind of known in the community. Believe me, its a rabbit hole u wont come out of again xD But happy to welcome you to the community @notrashtolerated
    But everything has to be triggered by the mouth, thats kinda the rule now. Nothing can be prerecorded, thats the easiest way of remembering it. Because with the mk2, its insane what people are able to now, it sound nothing like beatbox anymore, now 3 years after the mk2 came out, because people have grinded it even moe now, and learned it even better. Besides gbb, i reccommend u checking out the german beatbox championship loopstation 2022, they are propably the most talented and upcoming people on the scene.
    U got a sub from me, doing nasty face in the first battle u see, u are already a part of the community now :D

    So with the vid you saw with mb14 they had the older gen of loopstation if im not mistaken. What they do is make a sound with their mouth and use the effects and tools on the loopstation to add distortion/arp effects/chords/reverb/eq. You get the gist. So the sound youre hearing isnt exactly what came put of their mouth but the aound started as a noise from their mouth. Also a few more things. Mb14 is pretty known for not using many effects besides some reverb and maybe eq. Thats why his sounded a lot more natural, because it was. The other thing is, the reason rhythmind has a loopstation that isnt released yet is because he won the last gbb loopstation category. I suggest you react to some aolo beatboxing. Dlow is the absolute goat when it comes to solo beatbox. You ahould check out dlow - sound sketch (alton) to get an idea of what sounds people be really making straight from the mouth if that makes sense. Loopstation is cool but i prefer solo beatbox because its more straight forward.

      Ohhhhhhh okay. Thanks so much for this comment. I was awestruck at some of the sounds but that makes a lot more sense that they have filters on some loop states. I was dumbfounded with some of these sounds. Thanks so much for the background and such a detailed comment

    Another thing that i dont think ive seen mentioned is that they have the ability to silent record to their loop and that's the "delay" you're hearing.

    • @notrashtolerated
      @notrashtolerated  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ahhhh that’s sick. I love the shock factor when they implement it. It’s crazy they do it without hearing it. They must practice a ton and know how it’s going to sound prior to doing it. Impressive

    • @TheDeadStretch
      @TheDeadStretch 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@notrashtoleratedYeah so the "silent record" is them just muting the outgoing volume but they still hear the mix in their headphones.
      Also these routines are probably practiced for 100s of hours before showcased at GBB. Some are even performed at other beatbox events to get a better gauge on how it'll perform live. GBB is usually when everyone bring their "A game."
