Thank you 😊
I also came here from Binging with Babish! Thanks for the video, I've never had goulash before but I'm excited to try cooking it!
Let us know how you went cooking it 🧑🏼🍳
👀 making goulash tomorrow, will be taking some tips from this!
Let us know how it went!
I love goulash from any country with different variations.
Us too 😊

thanks mate!
@@traditionalbutnot7793 ich empfehle noch etwas muskatnuss in die knödelmasse zu reiben, absolut ein muss! :)
@@BinGutH kommt auf jedem fall gut!!
The Austrians love their nutmeg 😉
Will try it with nutmeg next time.
Sorry, it has to be caraway seeds 😢 It's missing tomato pastes and a thick slice of spec for amazing flavour 😊❤🇦🇺
My Austrian wife also said has to be caraway seed 😅 tomato paste and speck sounds like it would elevate it. Will try it next time.
thank you for the recipe! it looks really delicious. i'd just like to ask how many portions the recipe makes?
Thank you!
The recipe is for about 6-8 portions!
Australian gulasch?
😅 I’m Australian, but the Gulasch is Austrian.
Yes, it is Austrian, I'm from Austria, and i know it@traditionalbutnot7793
Came here from binging with babish. Should have followed your video, you explain it a little better imo
Thanks, glad you like it!
I’m surprised there’s no garlic.
Traditionally there is no garlic, but you can give it a try and tell us how it went. 😊
if I remember rightly the Austrians don't put in Paprika.
In Vienna, we are very close to Hungary, so we like to use it.
@@traditionalbutnot7793 i made that today and added the paprika. It works indeed. Was very good.
Nice 😀
This is not traditional Austrian sorry
Why not? What’s missing in your opinion? 🤔
And german(bavarian) semmelknödel😉
But it doesn't matter, you did a great job, yummy
Thank you, in Austria we also have these Knödel 😊 but Bavaria is just around the corner.
@@Lysandra-8 A traditional Gulasch form Vienna is so called "Fiaker Gulasch".
It's a Gulasch but garnished with a dumpling, a boiled egg, frankfurter sausage and gherkins.
Also Semmelknödel are as authentic Austrian as they are Bavarian.
That's pretty much the same way my Omi showed me how to make gulasch, aside from the fennel seeds. I'm pretty sure she used whatever she had to hand, too. She was from near Mistlebach, originally.
@bingingwithbabish brought me here
Nice!
This looks so great - Wow! Great recipe! :)
Thanks so much!
@@traditionalbutnot7793 Really does look amazing but I have always been told frying your paprika will make it bitter. Austrian magic to fix that because first person that says you want it sticking to the bottom I have personally seen.
Thanks for the comment. We like to create the fond on the bottom and then deglaze with water before it burns. That way you get a more intense flavor. Some people sear the meat to get the flavor from browning it.
