I did this in modern warfare 2 and it was so fun! Took what is normally a running gun simulator and when you slow it down by like 20 notches the game catches up! Never thought I would get a tactical feel out of call of duty lol
@@staydown4bo you don't need a pc, just play modern warfare but instead of an average 20 minute completion time for missions go for like 90 minutes and really take your time thinking about engagements. What I found is the bots start to compensate and take agressive positions that allow you to play very realistic slowly and methodical

My favorite part of the video was when he was talking to the hostage like she was real despite her pretty bare bones animations. He got so immersed in the experience and brought his real marine behavior I was watching intently for the whole 40 minutes.
In every gameplay, you'll see he's (his team also) actually blending with the situation disregarding that it's just a game. Then they know how to tackle the situation and that's what they do. Their vision is not to complete the mission anyway, but to accomplish it in a perfect way. Amazing job GLID... Out!
Just started watching and practicing room clearing with a pistol, something I think everyone who owns a gun for home defense should do. But obviously without spending the money to have an actual trainer, it's impossible to get good enough or to know how good I'm doing 100%. But based on what I've been able to learn from videos, it looks like GLID is very good at it. I see him automatically doing the things I saw, and I'm sure he's doing so many more that I have no idea he's even doing/thinking of while I passively watch this. Very cool. The more I learn about history and the more I i practice even basic versions of things like this, the more respect I have for troops. Even knowing damn well there's no bad guys in your home, practicing a sweep feeling totally untrained, unlearned, AND putting yourself in the mindset of "I've heard something, I DON'T know there's no one there" makes the shit nerve wracking. All respect to troops on the side of good. Thank you for serving, GLID! One brave sob.
Would sound crazy to most people but if I know no one is home when I get home I always clear the whole house, sometimes twice. Just to practice, to learn which routes work best and which corners are darker than others. I do it sometimes when I go to enter my vehicle. My thing is, if you're doing it safely it can't hurt to practice. The little laser targets that use a boresight type thing and reset the trigger seem cool as shit and reasonably price when you consider the cost of going to a room clearing course or even buying a gaming PC good enough to run vr. They all look hella fun tho.

You've not got crazy accuracy but your ability to snap to other targets so quickly is impressive. I also have a recommendation for a game in vr. It's called h3vr or hot dogs, horse shoes and hand grenades. It's the best game in terms of realism especially with the firearms. They are all really detailed and are as close as you can get without firing the actual thing. There is currently an update where the developer has added a house breaching scenario but you have to setup the enemies yourself and they are sentient hot dogs which takes away from the experience a bit.
I'm shoting instructor, and love VR, but switching between VR guns and real takes few minutes to adapt. Different grip angle, different "depth of field" on sights, and no recoil makes your brain treat it like different things.
I use H3VR to train on manual of arms before I take people to range to practice on the real thing. You can't really practice moving and tactics on a public range, either - and ammo is getting really expensive as the world is falling apart.
Make sure to turn the sound way up and use good headphones or speakers, not a phone, especially for the dope tune at the end (outro) lol. Interesting to see someone in VR following SOP for room clearing, talking quietly until he reflexively shouts 'clear', double tapping downed tangos... I wonder how long it will be until VR training moves from pilot sims into single-man, small-arms ops like this. Seems to translate well!
They'll probably start with AR augmented training using laser tag style guns in shoothouses first. The AR glasses could simulate the muzzle flash and even tracer rounds, while modern laser tag guns can simulate both some recoil and the weight of the weapon.
@@matasa7463 they already do use this, just not on as wide of a scale as we’d like to see. The military actually has some very advanced VR programs, but could be years before they use it on a wide scale.
I love how the extreme habit of gun safety is so drilled into you that you even abide by it in VR lol. You KNOW if you do it in a video game you’re sure as shit gonna do it all the time in real life, good shit
This is premium content! Its one thing to watch you play games at a professional militaristic level, but to actually watch the process in VR while also viewing your emotion/stress level shows you how serious you take it. This is like a full on training video and id love to see more of it!!
If you want more games in VR where you can practice CQB or just firearms and have a good quality experience, H3VR comes in mind (especially with mods), ONWARD is also great but its only in multiplayer, PAVLOV is just a CSGO but in VR and Contractors VR is just a cod.

Would love to hear your thoughts on target prioritization as I several times find myself mentally targeting enemies of which you shoot last during an altercation. One example is 26:33 where I would have shot the target in front as he has the best line of sight towards me and appeared to be most continuous of your presence but you chose the tango to the right.
It's instinct but in that example the target you refer to, to have the best line of sight does not have the best advantage he is standing in a bright light and the other guy is standing in a dark spot meaning to him I am lit up like a birthday cake. The guy in the bright light can't see a thing. It's my mind processing using my training. We are told to take the surroundings into account not the position of the target. I look at things differently..
I feel as he chose the guy on the right because he was most close to his iron sights as he opened the door. You can see he was already ADS as he opened the door, so best option was to choose closest person in your sights.
Loved every bit of this, the educational talks before things really pop off, the clean and confident movements and shots, showing off that you really know what you’re talking about. This is the type of mentality I try to stay in during these types of games, especially VR I also love the double taps, even though it’s a game and the chances of them getting back up are very low, it shows the tactics used in real life scenarios. Not knowing if that enemy is faking a death, to just get the jump on you as you turn away. Again, great tactics and even better gun play

Just bought Alyx only for this mod. I've always loved mod creators that make the full use of the game mechanics and actually incorporate VR even more than just the base game. Also seeing your approach to every situation in this video was amazingly entertaining

Nice job there mate and love the tactics 💯💪 Death check in a solo situation is a prio. Room clearing is unpredictable, but staying behind the apex of a doorframe will save you from exposure... Having control of the room, knowing what type of room it is ( box, L shape), orientation and positive or negative cornerfed is all key to control Pls correct me if i am wrong 🙏

Hardest difficulty, and some clean as hell movement. You definitely didn't disappoint in this one. While I agree on the matter with the tea-cup, it has it's place. All's fair in the name of being comfortable if your accuracy doesn't suffer for it. It was almost like a dance watching you sweep the building, taking the corners and easily removing any and all threats while keeping yourself protected. While the civilian behind you could of made some smarter choices, you worked well with defending her. That and the last part of thamission was insane. Keep it up!
Thank you mate I hear you on the tea cup but for us it's a huge no no, you never ever ever hold a pistol with a teacup method. It's means you have no control over the top of the weapon. Given you are right hand shooter you left hand must cover your right hand and rest in between the finger spacing as high as possible. That how we are taught in the military.

Recorded on 3090 overclocked on water. You cant get smoother FPS. Its how VR games look. The FPS in game was at 75FPS and 60FPS solid for YT. Its not the FPS its the motion. Appreciate the comment Joseph.
I live in America where me my friends and family all go out shooting a lot, with AR15s handguns and shotguns. I was absolutely in love watching this. I love how your handgun handling is accurate in that they are much more skill based to use than rifles because you only have two points of contact therefore it is harder to line up rear and front sight to shoot straight. I just loved watching the small things a lot of people don’t notice when it comes to shooting. the beauty in this was your situational awareness and I wish I could play this without getting motion sickness, you were able to make split second decisions that would have got me shot. I would love to see you go to America and do some competition shooting, you would be impressive. You gained a sub from me. This is awesome, you’re so immersed in it, it had my asshole clenching too lol

cant wait for more VR gameplay I recommend trying out boneworks would love to see you be able to physically interact with enemies and work with more than just a glock in general great entertaining and educational content would love to see you in the zone in stalker anomaly with the new EFP 3.0 mod pack since tactical realism/mil-sim is your thing I think a mission to take out a group of bandits in the zone etc would make for a great video

Hardest difficulty, and some clean as hell movement. You definitely didn't disappoint in this one. While I agree on the matter with the tea-cup, it has it's place. All's fair in the name of being comfortable if your accuracy doesn't suffer for it. It was almost like a dance watching you sweep the building, taking the corners and easily removing any and all threats while keeping yourself protected. While the civilian behind you could of made some smarter choices, you worked well with defending her. That and the last part of thamission was insane.

Thank you mate I hear you on the tea cup but for us it's a huge no no, you never ever ever hold a pistol with a teacup method. It's means you have no control over the top of the weapon. Given you are right hand shooter you left hand must cover your right hand and rest in between the finger spacing as high as possible. That how we are taught in the military.

I just play the way I am trained. There is no other way so to me I am just gaming. I don't really think about it, I enjoy shooters.

Recorded on 3090 overclocked on water. You cant get smoother FPS. Its how VR games look. The FPS in game was at 75FPS and 60FPS solid for YT. Its not the FPS its the motion. Appreciate the comment Joseph.

I live in America where me my friends and family all go out shooting a lot, with AR15s handguns and shotguns. I was absolutely in love watching this. I love how your handgun handling is accurate in that they are much more skill based to use than rifles because you only have two points of contact therefore it is harder to line up rear and front sight to shoot straight. I just loved watching the small things a lot of people don’t notice when it comes to shooting. the beauty in this was your situational awareness and I wish I could play this without getting motion sickness, you were able to make split second decisions that would have got me shot. I would love to see you go to America and do some competition shooting, you would be impressive. You gained a sub from me. This is awesome, you’re so immersed in it, it had my asshole clenching too lol
