Fun fact the Composer for these songs just made a bunch of bangers for the game and then later matched each song with each boss but you can tell this was made for a final boss if it’s gonna be a mix of different songs
6:18 to 6:28 okay literally *NEVER* heard that part of admission to predition before, because I'm used to a different version... from a guy that has all the "in-game" music instead of the OST.
1:27 I think this might actually be a reference to Cuphead and Mugman’s theme. Kristoffer Maddigan mentioned on the Japanese CD set that Cuphead and Mugman’s theme was hinted at in this song, Victory Tune, Introduction, and Rugged Ridge. This is the only tune I could find that appeared in all four songs, which leads me to believe this is meant to be their theme. I could be wrong though!
Some of the connections made in this video seem really tenuous, barely more than matching instrumentation or similar rhythm sections. 0:08 NO. Horn stabs don't count as leitmotif. 0:20 NO. This is the main unique theme in Admission to Perdition. It's not Threatenin' Zeppelin just because there's a clarinet. 0:58 NO. All three of the featured voices here aren't even present in that snippet of Aviary Action. 1:16 NO. Again, this is a unique theme. 1:27 NO. These phrases have a totally different melodic contour and rhythm. 1:47 NO. NO. Different unconnected motifs again. 1:56 YES. This is Junkyard Jive's main motif. 2:15 YES. This is a near-direct quote of Sugarland Shimmy. 2:31 YES. Junkyard Jive again. 2:36 YES. This is the percussion break from Floral Fury. 3:00 NO. This is not Ruse of an Ooze, it's just the bit before the next part of Fiery Frolic. In the original track it's on trombone, not piano. 3:04 YES. This is just the piano break from Fiery Frolic, now played by winds. 3:17 YES*. Obviously Clip Joint Calamity is here. Carnival Kerfuffle is arguable since the piano part has a similar winding phrase, but I would still just call it a variation of Clip Joint Calamity. 3:45 YES. This is very clearly Dramatic Fanatic. 4:04 NO. This is just a transition - the rhythms and phrases don't match Shootin' 'n' Lootin' at all. 4:12 YES and NO. This is the Admission to Perdition theme, with Honeycomb Herald's winding clarinet phrase added in (not actually shown in the snippet here). Pyramid Peril is not present. 4:54 YES, NO, NO, NO. This is just the motif from One Hell of a Time with a build at the end, unrelated to anything else. If anything you could argue the little saxophone interjections match those from Ruse of an Ooze. I wouldn't. 5:54 NO. These are just octave drops, very different shape of phrase compared to Railroad Wrath. Not to be a hater or anything. It just ain't right.
I'm sorry, but it feels like you found melodies that used the same instrument and forcibly called it a "reference" for a lot of these claims (ex. 0:20). A bunch of these don't even sound close to what you think they're referencing, especially compared to parts that use identical motifs (Junkyard Jive, Sugarland Shimmy, Clip Joint Calamity, etc). You spotted all the motifs, but that fact doesn't mean the composer wrote this entire thing as a mindless reference-fest. Especially from 0:07 to 1:55, I don't think any of that is correct. I don't even know what to say for 4:54, though
Everyone else who’s pointed out all the references in this song has done the exact same thing as I have. And I don’t know about you, but to me, these references are obvious when you listen for them. The only one that’s entirely instrumental is the Threatenin’ Zeppelin one. All of the others have similar melodies. And everyone else besides you on the internet (I’ve seen posts about the references in this song) agree that these are all the references. smh.
@@PBJellyBoi majority opinion≠right The majority of people seem to treat this entire track mindless reference-fest just from the identical boss motifs that don't even make up the entire thing. They're looking for things that aren't there. I can't fathom the similarity for a lot of these. I don't know what "everyone else" besides me on the internet hears. I know this is the most self-rightous comment in existence but I just can't hear the similarity in some of these at all. I have to express my opinion in some way.

Railroad wrath, Fanatic dramatic and Perami peril seem to have been made precisely for their respective bosses.
4:54 botanic panic, aviary action, murine corps and railroad wrath have a very similar part, i thought that was the reference

Good job on listing the references and leitmotif!👍
Great ear! This was super helpful, thank you! I love hearing how other Cuphead leitmotifs are used throughout the soundtrack
Yes Thank you, Ive been looking for a video that puts the songs side by side
0:08 I’m pretty sure that victory tune
This is accurate. Thank you for taking the time to make this video, now I understand some of the references
Thanks :)

They should start an SOEWT like in PVZ 2 modern day but SOEBT(Spotting out ever Boss themes)
aw man i love that you made that connection! one thing about pvz2 though is that the worlds are usually distinguished by timbre and not melody
