Sorry for your loss. I don't think I realized how much music can affect you in so many ways. I listen to this song and it transports me back to a time when friends and family were still alive. I picture my friend and I driving around in his 73 Challenger, windows rolled down, blasting this song on the radio through the Kraco coaxials, singing out loud. He's been gone for 6 years now and there isn't a day that goes by where I don't think of something that reminds me of him. Really good friends are hard to come by and I know that I will never have a friend like that again. I am thankful for things like this song that remind me and give me that small moment of happiness. Today is Thanksgiving. Hope you are smiling today sir.

One of the best parts of the 80's is the vibrancy! From the make-up, to the clothes, to the hair styles, to the music! ALL so wild! Man, we really broke out of the mold. I sure miss it.
Used to get up early to go work in tobacco fields in the summer when I was young, and when this song came out on MTV, I was lucky enough to hear it most mornings before I left for work......got me through the day! 80's music will never be replaced, or forgotten.
Something happens to my phone when I use YT Music. It overheats for freaking out loud. So much so, I have to place the phone on a table. Other apps won't work so I have to turn it off. Having been a teenager in the 90s, I'm sort of a bit partial to that decade, but yeah, if I had to choose between only 80s or only 90s, I think I'd probably still go with 80s music. :)
Exactly, they had crazy looks and styles + then you had bands like: Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys, Erasure, The Smiths etc that just wore checked shirts/ white/black or logo T-Shirts, Jeans, Nike trainers/black shoes etc Been like that with every other decade!
I love music and know what I like and don't like when I hear it whenever it was written or performed. Spread your wings and try music you think you'll hate. Just give it a try. Ya know what? Some doctors can be stupid homosapiens too.
The late 80s was not very good, in my opinion. 1989 especially was pretty bad. There were a few exceptions, such as "Like a Prayer" and "Buffalo Stance" but overall fairly uninspiring. Life was better when there were more Brits (like the Thompson Twins) on the charts.
Caray ellos los hermanos Twins eran puro talento ..creo que cambiaron la música hacia ellos y lograron ser reconocidos después de 40 años por todos nosotros 👏🏼💯
Brilliance. Pure brilliance. Back when men could show emotion and sing their heart out in melody. Also makes me sad for the world we live in today. This was and is the best music for the soul!
@1972gsm, I'm 47, not too far behind you and Agree 100%. I was born in that Period of more Soft Rock and Disco. My Older Sister is 51 as well, and I always remind her that she was born in 1 of the Best eras for Music, the earlier 70's had better quality RocknRoll and actual hits. Although, I'd take anything in the later 70's compared to the garbage from the late 90's and beyond. I'd also go back to the 80's in a real hurry as well. 😎🌴🎶👍🏻
80s music captured the time with everyone. Whether you were into metal, hip hop, or had blue hair into Missing Persons, the 80s had you covered. I MISS IT.
I was a child of the 80's. Yup, that kind of music and less technological time just isn't replicable. H2O. Billy Ocean. Billy Joel. Benetar. Prince. MJ. Duran Duran. George Michael. Starship. Can't go back, though. 😕

This kind of music makes me nostalgic for a time period I never experienced first hand or was old enough at the time to remember. I wasn't born until 1987 so even though I was technically here in the 80's, I wasn't old enough to remember anything about it first hand. But 1980's synth/new wave music makes me feel as if I was.
Woke up to this tune several mornings in boarding school; the year of my Leaving Cert; 1984. School was a drag, and I found it difficult - especially that year, but the music helped me through. Superb hits that year by Howard Jones, Alison Moyet, Michael Jackson, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, China Crisis, Tears for Fears - I could go on, but, approaching 57 this year, I feel so blessed to have been a teenager in the 1980's. Great memories with nothing but a basic Toshiba radio-cassette recorder and a Raleigh Stratos racing bike to pass my summer holidays by! Innocent times..
Saw Tom Bailey play last night at a festival which has bought back so many memories. I cant stop playing my albums now. Loved them then and love them still. Nothing like 80's music.

I'm so fortunate to have been a teenager during the eighties, and still know just how good the music still is in my fifties.
