This trio is so brilliant and breath taking. Lugansky’s interpretation of the piano and his emotion is timeless. Maisky and Rachlin have a lovely energy here. I wish this was available for purchase somewhere. What a gem!!
IMO by far the best interpretation of this wonderful piece! So much so that I "refuse" to listen to the subsequent movements in interpretations by other trio "ensembles"... Most unfortunately the subsequent movements are missing in this video. It was uploaded a few years ago by someone else. I asked him vehemently for the missing movements: he replied he too was interested in getting them, but... so far nothing happened. I went as far as to suggest that he should try to contact N. Lugansky's secretary, or Julian Rachlin's, or Mischa Maisky's, for I don't believe that none of them is in possession of a copy. To obtain permission to use that copy would be a service done to Musical Culture!... Perhaps you @CarlosFernándezMarroquín will be able to do something about this... I, for one, would be MOST INDEBTED! Thank you so much for the present upload. Shared on Google+
I'm with you, sir! All the other interpretations pale by comparison. And having heard Nikolai Lugansky in recital and performing Rachmaninoff's 3rd with Chicago and the Paganini Variations with San Francisco, I consider him one of the finest interpreters of Rachmaninoff today.

Listen to Golub, Kaplan, Carr....
Drie briljante musici. Briljante uitvoering van dit trio. De cameraman had zijn lens jammer genoeg ingesmeerd met vaseline...
