My God what a performance! Outstanding playing from everyone but I can’t help but praise the pianist in particular for such a powerful, clear and poetic performance.
Yes but the pianist although admirable wasnt as good as he should be? The high arpeggios didn't have enough force in first movement and last movement all over the place
I met him and he’s super down to earth. When he went to conservatory at 14 his teacher had a lesson with him every single day! He said it was too much and he couldn’t even practice.
Brilliant - Sparkling - Beautyful - Dancing - Joyfull - Passion and what a lovely interaction between three great musicians. Thank you dears. You made my day
He is the best ensemble pianist in this time.. literally best one in the world.. he works at a lot of international competitions as a accompanist and teaches at Karajan akademie Berlin, Folkwang university of Arts Essen.
I love a strong pianist and we have one, here. However, the pianist can be too strong. Some of those glorious & delicate harmonies get swallowed up by the piano. Still very beautiful, however.
@@jimjennings7623It felt to me, like a musical conversation. Sometimes the piano had the spotlight, sometimes it was the strings and sometimes they were equally loud. It felt intentional to me, not swallowing up anyone. Just my humble opinion.
This is to my opinion the best rendition of this immortal trio, and with the strings being excellent, still Thomas Hoppe cannot be praised enough. Just incredible lightness still powerful, just perfect. Milestone performance. Had an experience recently coming close, though: young trio from Paris I heard in Lucca - Trio Zeliha. If you have the chance, go see them- splendid and just starting their career
Yes, this is an outstanding performance. And yes, the pianist plays with the right balance of strength and delicacy. While I am unsure that he would hold my attention in a solo recital, he knows how to work in a group.
I also watched the same performance back in 2016, it was already outstanding, but this one is even better. Goosebumps throughout the entire performance!
I’ve just started to look at the piano part for this and I appreciate how demanding it is. All I can say is bravo to all! What a performance! Much to aspire to…..
None of them sre replaceable. The strong emotions fit so well with all three different instruments. I dont know if you can tell but they are so invested with the mood of this delightful piece. This is a masterpiece. Bravo!
Very good. But in general, especially in the forte and fortissimo parts, I'd like ho hear a little less piano and a little more of the strings. The section around 18:00 is a case in point, but it is a general issue.
I've recently been confused by the second mvt. It's played rather slowly compared to the actual 72 tempo. Is this a difference in interpretation? Personally, I prefer it slower.
Great clarity - very "un-mushy". I know that's a recording-quality characteristic, but once you have that - the musicians still have to deliver. And they sure did.
I don't remember hearing this crystal clean intonation and articulation from even the most famous string players. The recording quality and the sound engineering is excellent, and you don't hear a single flaw throughout, only the most polished and refined sounds imaginable.
I don't understand. I've had no difficulty and I know it from several recordings. This is my favorite, especially for the piano part which Mendelssohn wrote for himself.
Obviously a skilled pianist but he is drenching the strings in forte parts. Not very sensitive. The recording with Julia Fischer, Daniel Muller-Schott and Jonathan Gilad is on an entirely different level.
The piano parts for his trios are just amazing!
My God what a performance! Outstanding playing from everyone but I can’t help but praise the pianist in particular for such a powerful, clear and poetic performance.
But I would have liked to hear the others as well.
Yes but the pianist although admirable wasnt as good as he should be? The high arpeggios didn't have enough force in first movement and last movement all over the place
I want to play like that cellist. legit.
+ he is amazing
I want to like that pianiste lol😂😅
Hello
I met him and he’s super down to earth. When he went to conservatory at 14 his teacher had a lesson with him every single day! He said it was too much and he couldn’t even practice.
Yeah, he's def an inspiration.
Brilliant - Sparkling - Beautyful - Dancing - Joyfull - Passion and what a lovely interaction between three great musicians. Thank you dears. You made my day
The pianist is outstanding! Never heard of him.
Me too! What a guy. I came across their Brahms Trios, he plays the third incredibly powerfully and beautifully.
I was listening while working without watching ... at some point a just stopped and ..." .. that pianist is really good ... let's have a look " :)
I think the piano parts for Mendelssohn’s trios are extraordinary
He is the best ensemble pianist in this time.. literally best one in the world..

One of the very best interpretations I ever heard! Bravo! Bravissimo!
What an exquisite performance. The timing, interplay and interpretation. The best performance of this piece I've ever heard.
I can not imagine it any better. Absolutely wonderful. And that pianist - outstanding!

A gloriously cheerful work, fiendish piano part (Mendelssohn must have been an amazing pianist), in a wonderful performance. One of the best.

Exquisite.
Omg, I can't listen to this music without bursting into tears. And ATOS trio is sublime!
Such beautiful playing!!!
Brilliant, absolutely top notch.
You only have to listen to almost any other recording to realise how good this one is.
This is one of the most beautiful pieces I have ever heard. I am in awe.
Wow, perfect ensemble,
Best recording of Mendelshonn piano trio i ve heard so far
My god, this is breathtaking. Goosebumps throughout.
Terrific performance, great pianist.
Beautifully played throughout- heard inner melodies of each instrument clearly. Thanks.
Absolutely delightful. Your playing gave me chills (the good kind!), Thomas! Thank you so much.
I am never disappointed by this really talented ensemble. This was a sparkling performance. Thank you for posting.
Marvelous
The Scherzo!!! The entire performance, really. Absolutely fantastic!
None of them sre replaceable. The strong emotions fit so well with all three different instruments. I dont know if you can tell but they are so invested with the mood of this delightful piece. This is a masterpiece. Bravo!
Such a brilliant performance with sensitivity and passion. So inspiring.Thank you.
Wunderschön! Der zweite Satz ist zum Hinknien schön!! LG aus Graz!

Bravissimo❤❤❤
ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!
Yes, exquisite. Thank you.
Awesome playing, have to rethink trying to play this with my strings friends.
Man, Russell Crowe just has so many talents.
😂 hard to watch this now without thinking of that . Russell plays so good though .
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
wonderful. great musicians.
Crying bc it’s so good😢
Bravissimi!!👏👏
The cello start it and i almost cry
Bravo!!!
BRAVISSIMO 👏👏👏
It's fantastic!!
The piano is great. I wanna play like him.
I am in tears.
I had no idea the guy from the hangover was such a passionate cellist!
Sublime playing

When this was written, pianos where tinny with crap sustaining pedals. I agree. Today's piano swamps 19th cent Trios.
Bravi!!!!
The cellist😍
trio maravilhoso!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just, WOW...
Bravissimi, 👏👏👏
magical mendelson... piano is brill
Great 👍
Wow!
Ganz große Klasse.

I've recently been confused by the second mvt. It's played rather slowly compared to the actual 72 tempo. Is this a difference in interpretation? Personally, I prefer it slower.
easier to sightread xd. as a pianist i prefer slower so I have more time to think and control how to play the different voices during the solo parts
Thank you! Аnd thanks to the great Mendelssohn.
Damn… cellist… dude… you’re 1:15 secs in… you bout to have a heart attack 🥺. Superb playing, though man.
Do you like Brahms?
Annette has lovely, natural hair.🦋
But an an extreme ugly dress, so sorry
I love playing Mendelssohn. His music sounds so impressive technically, but it's not really that difficult to play once you get the hang of it.

fucking legendary
that scherzo man
😂🤣😂
El camarografo arruina la parte visual.
I WISH I CARRIED ON PLAYING THE VIOLA
viola? you mean violin?
the last movement as Haydn
I've known performances of this work in which the pianist allowed the other players to be heard. I know it can be done.
I don't understand. I've had no difficulty and I know it from several recordings. This is my favorite, especially for the piano part which Mendelssohn wrote for himself.
