Sir Tim is the genius of our times. I have seen him grow the industry to a level no one ever thought would be archived. He has built a monster of an airline with the help of Sheikh Mohammed to a level that will be unreachable for a few more decades.

Emirates is essentially a transportation service which funnels cheap labor into Dubai. Take Bogota, for example. It’s smart they are flying to Dubai via Miami, because there will be some demand for that segment alone, but the real point of the route is to provide transportation for cheap Colombian labor to get to Dubai. You can see this with countless other airports they operate to.

The Emiratis appreciate creative people, so they gave him this great post that every Emiratis dreams of, perhaps even members of the royal family. This is evidence of the principle of Emiratis leadership appreciation for competencies.

How many times is the interviewer going to ask the same question?
Gets boring after the second time asking about a possible ipo.
Listen to Clarks’ first answer and move on please.

Wow! I didn't know the problem with the RR engine was so problematic for Emirates on the airbus, whats the alternative engine for a Boeing aircraft? Yes i know they want the 777X but at the moment it is six years behind and what engine will the 777X use.

Its not clear to me, as QR are flying the A359x around this part of the world, and I am not hearing of problems with the RR Trent engines and excess engine shop visits .............. or maybe QR are just suffering it? After all they do have an airframe shortage themselves too, having brought back the A380s and are still running A330s, even leased ones.

He stated that the 900 variant is performing fine but the 1000 variant is not as the engine core is different.

I have a query, or should I say a correction to the population figures Sir Tim quoted ..............
Dubai population is not 6.2 m, its about 3.6 million, so did he get confused with UAE as a whole? No, as this is +/- 10 million.
So what was he talking about with his quote of 6.2 million?
