On UWorld bank they have that, carpal tuner syndrome associated to a patient with CKD on dialysis but on first aid book they made the association bwt Apple green Amyloidosis and medullar thyroid carcinoma (MEN2A) in this case correlate to the Parathyroid like Mike says. Good question

@@guillermoluisllanesrodrigu4756 no im not disagreeing, i know there is an association but based on AMBOSS at least there is an association between carpal tunnel syndrome and dialysis associated amyloidosis, that is why I am confused as to why it can not be an answer too. Its a great question and I got a lot of good teaching points from Mike, but still confused as to why it can not be an answer too

i thought so too but you are wrong since there is no mention that the patient in on dialysis. therefore he cannot have dialysis associated amyloidosis and cts

So the question basically is asking what can a patient with amyloidosis present with?
    Ok
But why not CTS Option 1?
Amyloidosis can be associated with CTS right?
    Flank pain i get it
    Why not CTS

I was just asking the same question! Secondary amyloidosis can cause CTS

Good Q. I was relating amyloidosis with S4, which can cause pHTN, making C as right choice. Probably, that's overthinking.

Multiple myeloma can also be a possibility for flank pain with hypercalcemia i guess which will still be the same answer
My question is: does the calcitonin produced by medullary thyroid carcinoma decrease the serum calcium levels?

I think,,Medullary thyroid cancer part of Men 1 may result in excess calcitonin that causes a type of amyloidosis

@@medico6060 Medullary in MEN 2. In this case, MEN2A has parathyroid secretion, causing hypercalcemia.
