    I can honestly say you’ve helped me an insane amount through my journey. The moment I found out I was dangerously close to becoming type 2 diabetic i changed my eating habits that exact day and your videos have made it so much easier. Fasting and eating healthy has become very easy to me now and just in 3 weeks I lost 20 lbs. I’m on month 3 and I have a doctors appointment coming up and for the first time in my life I’m excited for it. I’m even walking an hour every day now, and other than a few drizzles of sauces with my meals I haven’t had a single grain of added sugar since my initial results came in. Thank you so much and keep ‘em coming!

      I second what this dude just said! I've lost 80 lb in 6 months and with a really busy schedule as difficult for me to exercise as much as I would like so this is pretty much strictly off of diet and trying to remain in ketosis I try to stick with underneath 30 g of carbohydrates a day but sometimes I go up to about 40 did I don't know how much I've improved my insulin resistance but my A1C drop back down to normal range at 5.4 in my blood sugar after eating half a rotisserie chicken was 80 so I think I'm doing massively better and I just feel better all the time compared to how I was 80 lb to go with high blood sugar..
      Your videos have helped me massively!! Plus you look like Debra from Dexter!😊

    Kait, you are helping to change my thinking about my wife’s rice cooking technique. Latina’s “fry” the rice in a layer of oil, much like making risotto. After the oil is absorbed they add water. I used to think this was terrible but after arguing about it with her, her triglycerides are low and numbers are good. Go figure- lol. Oh - she did compromise and uses olive oil now.

    Hello I’ve done keto off and on for the past 6 years and it’s great. I always used to think my insulin spikes came from being pre-diabetic. It just isn’t the whole truth. I recently discovered that I have Hashimoto’s Disease and that there is an endemic of Hashi’s right now. Understanding Hashimoto’s has helped me understand even more about keto and how to make it more sustainable. I definitely didn’t expect what I found I thought I already was an expert. Great content thanks for promoting the best diet! 🎉

    a good approach to making changes to one's diet. The most surprising ones on your list for me were fresh-squeezed juices and dried fruit. (but of course it made perfect sense when you explained why). Since I have chosen to be gluten free as well as avoiding sugary foods and eating mostly fermented dairy like plain yogurt (drinking milk or eating regular dairy products causes digestive problems) for many years, I think I may have fewer changes to implement. My thanks for your informational video -- a great guide to create healthier options for meals.

    Hey! Hi! Not much for me to add, as I pretty much agree with you. What I will say is that years ago I was pre-diabetic., and when I found out, went clean keto. I lost fat so fast, my head nearly spun off my shoulders. Also, in FOUR months, my A1C dropped to 5.1 (it's 4.9 now). I eventually add some complex carbs back into the diet, as I was simply losing too much fat. However, I was careful about them - (well washed) brown basmati (least junky rice there), sprouted grain bread, etc. Maybe I am lucky in that I find anything sweet to be revolting. Now that I've bored you, I'll bid you a take it easy.

    • @heavenlyflower_sl
      @heavenlyflower_sl 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      me too... somehow i managed to train myself that baked goods are revolting. i used to devour baked goods n bread abnormally, over a couple of months my fasting blood sugar was higher than last year's checkup, altho still in normal range. i'm older so i knew this wont last long n my metabolism would go haywire if i kept this up, i knew somethings gotta give so i ate a lot of healthy fat (olive oil, half big avocado a day, peanuts/cashews i roasted myself so no salt), n now when i went to coffee shop or passed a patisserie i didnt find the breads n pastries interesting anymore. i think that consistently eating low carb does transform my tastebuds n craving

      @@heavenlyflower_sl My problem years back wasn't sweets or snack foods but main course refined carb laden foods, like pizza, pasta, rice, french fries, corn, etc. My meals were just a load of refined carbs. A few days after getting off that junk, my taste buds were totally different. I just didn't want any of that anymore.

    What about using a juicer to make fresh apple juice? Is this still bad.

    Thanks for all of the great content. I am wondering about the connection of eating meat and getting hot flashes during perimenopause. Are there any studies about this? Any videos on nutrition for women in perimenopause?

    Great video and none of them surprised me, all high carb and low fat. The grog was probably the only thing that wasn't high carb but that is bad for the liver.

    Hi Kait! I am type 2 diabetic. I use oven baked fruit as a sweet treat, thinking it's better than sweets. Am I wrong? I understand that, although there is no added sugar, the drying process concentrates the fructose. They're also in much smaller have than sweets. What are your thoughts, please? I use the Urban Fruit brand from Amazon, and mostly the strawberries. Thank you xx

    Kait, thank you for all that you do but I am confused, some research suggest that coconut oil can actually clog the arteries over time.

      This is a myth about saturated fat. The totality of evidence does not support that concept.

    Is this possible ?

    Rice is not the demon its made out to be. If prepared properly. And do not eat freshly cooked and warm. Cook the rice days ahead, same with potato's, almost any starchy veggie food. Boil the potato's / rice, store in the fridge for a cop0ule days, the starch as it cools, and kept cold, transforms to resistance starch which is good for you. Then you can reheat as you wish. Family fav is EVO roasted garlic mashed potato with heavy cream and butter whipped in. Plunk the taters / rice in boiling water to heat up for a few minutes, use and or mash away. My blood sugar doesn't spike in the least 2hrs after.
