Thank you so much for sharing your visit to Patong, Phuket. It has been 1984 since I was there during a U.S. Navy port visit where we had liberty busses from the East Coast of Phuket. Now, at age 63, I really enjoyed the historical aspects of your tours through Phuket much more than when in my 20s. Back then, the majority of shipboard sailors were much more interested in Patong Beach and the bar scene than the historical aspects of the Phuket area. The times and world political, social, and economic climates have changed since my time seeing the world, but now retired from the Navy, I am excited to get more out of world travel than when I was much younger. Thank you again for sharing your visits all over the world. My wife and I really find enjoyment in it!

The name of that temple is 定光堂 5'43", pronounced "Dìngguāng táng", but don’t worry, it’s okay, you've said it well!
That museum is very similar to our previous country house, which shows that many countries in Asia have similarities!
The words on the plaque you mentioned is "普天同慶" 14'10", the pronunciation is "Pǔ tiān tóng qìng", which means the whole world joins in the jubilation/ a feeling of great happiness.
In fact, general temples do not specifically require you to take off your shoes when you enter the temple. They should have stipulated them according to Thai customs!

I really appreciate your sharing the history with us. The architecture is very interesting and beautiful. The school did look like a mansion. What a great place to go to school as a kid. The mansion that you visited was gorgeous inside and out. It was wonderful to know that the family has been there five generations. The kitchen itself was very, very interesting! Glad you got to see a tiny snippet of northern Phuket. Mai Khao Beach north of the airport goes on for about 10 km and then that beach continues in Phang-Nga for another 30 km or so to Khao Na Yak. All of it soft, white, unspoiled, empty beautiful beach and coastline. It's a wonderful, peaceful place.
Patong is the west of Phuket, and Bangtao is the North

Love the drone shots. Patong Beach and Walking Street are much busier than this time last year. Too bad you guys came too early on Walking street. It really picks up around 10:00 PM.

we like Patong. There is so much energy. And around patong there are hidden paradise beaches. For example freedom or Tri Trang beach. FReedom beach has a free entry, too. But is a longer walk in jungle.

I have a car and profesional driver for you, actually a Toyota 4 door pickup truck, my Thai place is in Phang-nga, I am not there now but son #1 is there, speaks English-Thai and knows Phuket, Krabi, Phang-nga and Bangkok very well. If you want to see Phang-nga town with local, son #1 is there.

I was there... also about 2 weeks ago! Patong is way tooo busy (for my taste)... and full of arrogant russians! Only reason i stayed there... i met a cute beautiful Thai girl who is living and working in Patong and she offered me to stay at her place for free! She even brought me on her scooter to freedom beach(and other places nearby)! Which they also sell boat tours to ... waaay for too much money!
Lam head sing beach is the place to go! .. ;-) truly heaven compared to this big busy patong beach!

I know I have visited Thailand 4 times but Phuket was my least favourite place in Thailand (although I think Pattaya would beat it if I went there but thankfully I didn't lol) even though there were some good places such as Surin Beach, Kamala Beach, Kata Beach, Promthep Cape, Wat Chalong, Karon Viewpoint and Big Buddha but I actually hated Patong and completely avoided Bangla Street altogether - I do prefer Krabi much more
