As a 40 year old i can only imagine how confusing this world must be for young, disillusioned boys. Holy shit i just might have been an alt righter in my younger, angry, hate the world days. That's scary.
I used to listen to and read Rush Limbaugh when I was 12 or so, back in the 90s when he was just getting super famous. So I went through a period in my teens where the conservative side of politics seemed to make sense. It was only when I started studying many different political thinkers, and lived through the Bush administration and resulting economic collapse, that my political views shifted. Conservative politics is very simple to explain in many ways, so it's easy to suck in people who are young or new to politics. Especially if those people are coming from an already conservative religious background. When mainstream entertainment/Hollywood seems (seems being the key word) to be far left, people like Rush actually make the conservative position look like the rebel, outsider position, thus making it even more attractive to angry young people, especially males.

Yes, totally agreed. It's an unpopular opinion on the left (which is totally understandable) because he interacts with some of the most questionable people on earth, but it's definitely more a product of circumstance and social bubbles. I definitely wish he was more open to calling them out and as playerjoe said, definitely comes down to an underlying economic incentive, subconscious or not. And you’re telling me that it’s ok for Dave Rubin to the same thing with WAY MORE extremist and extremist-normalizers? Gtfoh

I seem to remember Eric Weinstein playing a music instrument (I am not sure but I think he played harmonica or something before some of the Peterson debates?) so I have a feeling he really, really wants to be on stage at a rock gig. @@taylorjakes2129 Bullshit. Sam actually does his due diligence on topics and doesn't beat around the bush with faux civility when debunking the lies and malicious rhetoric spouted by these IDW pricks.
With all due respect to Sam, he could have impressed me more by weighing in not on nicknames, the social etiquette of who gets invited where, or twitter gossip, but on Eric's more interesting claims about runaway institutional incentives, technological parasitism, or the uncomfortable question of whether large parts of the Left have become just as ideologically captured as the Right. I'd like nothing better than to see Sam & Eric go at it. But it's a simple fact of life that in order for a conversation to happen, both parties have to feel that it's worth their time. Personally, I resolve that conflict by accepting any & all invitations to discussion at any time, but as I am not a public figure like Eric, I have that luxury. My recommendation to Sam would be to more clearly define his positions on the issues that Eric cares about. "I think you're dangerous" is not a position on an idea, and it doesn't make for a very attractive invitation to conversation. Incidentally, if any of you in Sam's audience wants to debate a Lefty who has a somewhat IDW-ish perspective, hit me up. I'm available. The IDW perspective makes sense to me, and so does the traditional Left perspective. It's an important conversation that needs to be had.
@@Starcrash6984 Perhaps he would, but the assumption there is that "element of surprise" is necessary or useful; this maintains a model where victory or defeat is the goal of a debate, rather than discussion and clarification.
So Eric Weinstein does not think a conversation with Sam is interesting but he is more fascinated by debating some singer? Are you really that naive? Eric is a clout chaser, he wants Billy Bragg's audience and that's about it. Just like how Candace Owens only wants to debate celebrities haha.
@@Dan0TheMano Personally, I agree that there is good reason to fulfill one's primitive obligation to "be a man" and be willing to accept a personal challenge from anyone we see fit to challenge in public. There are, of course, practical obstacles to this in the contemporary media landscape; so I reserve for others the possibility that it may be useful to call out questionable behavior of someone we have no actual desire to speak with. i.e. if it were me, yes, I would accept Sam's invitation, even suspecting the resulting conversation may be uncharitable. But under the circumstances (namely, widespread political vitriol) I consider that a personal choice, and I don't begrudge Eric for having different standards. Ideally, Eric should develop the appetite to engage with someone who will likely make a lot of cheap shots. But I think Sam could also demonstrate he is capable of taking more expensive shots. There are things both parties could do to increase the odds of a productive debate, assuming one is desired.
1. Sam is a very skilled and harsh debater and it's possible Eric is scared. I'd actually love to see them debate. 2. Eric nailed it when he said Sam looks for trivial missteps in order to make people look stupid. That's most of his content. 3. Dave Rubin isn't the smartest

As a 40 year old i can only imagine how confusing this world must be for young, disillusioned boys. Holy shit i just might have been an alt righter in my younger, angry, hate the world days. That's scary.
what you re saying is very important.
I love Sam.
Never get tired of Rogan low-key stomping on Dave Rubin
Man, with friends like ROgan, who needs enemies
I’ve never come across a man more in love with himself than weinstein

I have. While it's horrible that he actually has to go to rehab for an addiction, I can't help but think of him taking over a group therapy session for three hours about how pill bottles are drawing on an addict's desire to crawl back into the womb.
Troll Watch I feel bad for him and I heard it’s cause his wife had cancer so he didn’t know how to cope with it but I also know him and his fans would call addicts beta cucks who need to be in prison so I don’t how I feel now

Ben says to not have kids if you can't handle it. Again... Common fuckin sense but whatever lol...
So yeah... A broken clock is right twice a day but my god. The other stuff they talk about lol shyeesh. Fake jews (Jino's), conspiracy theories, sexist/racist bullshit, pro greed ideas, bad faith engagements, clout chasing, weird religious stuff about chaos etc etc... So eyeahhh... Normally these guys would just be written off as coo coo but they sadly have hundreds of thousands/ maybe even millions of fans, some of which are mass shooters in waiting so... We gotta talk about these pricks and how they are problematic.
I can understand why one would not want to debate some one that they despise. AOC was pressured into talking to shitiro. She would crap all over him because he's full of shit and she's a good faith actor. BUT... It would give that shit bag more attention and she's too busy for that nonsense. The right can call her chicken shit for not debating him but there is good reason to ignore the nazi boot lickers. I hate goose steppin shit bags too... Where does it say I HAVE to talk to them?
But in the case of Rave Dubin we know damn well he's too cowardly to debate Sam for obvious reasons and would only do so if Sam got with his lawyers to sign papers for a ton of stuff he wouldn't be allowed to talk about.
Sadly we live in a world that's mostly stupid/clueless people. And tricking stupid people is what most of the right is into. It's the opposite with leftists. Tricking people is fairly easy since most people can be tricked easily. That's why the right has the power that it does.
Dave Rubin is Rave Dubin and Sam Seder is....well...Sam Seder! That's how you know Sam is undunkable! :)
Wounded Antelope made my day :) . I'm ready for the IDW to debate Sam. MJR has to be a dunking show. The IDW and whatever Dave Rubin is needs aggressive rebuttal.

In one specific field of knowledge, yes. He's a fucking moron when it comes to most fields outside of it.
If you can stand Peter Thiel, watching him and Weinstein debate socialism/Marx/capitalism on his podcast the portal reveals that he knows and agrees with a lot of the obvious realities that Marx illuminates (Peter Thiel of course...not so much...fuck that guy). Besides politics though, he's actually got some very interesting ideas on things like physics like you were mentioning.

The idea that he’s defending Dave Rubin “because he doesn’t prepare, like my show!” is absurd. Like what he does has no consequences. Rogan doesnt need to be familiar with a lot of topics and his guests’ work to have a non-problematic discussion, like with an athlete. But the dude has pseudoscientists and extremist-normalizers on too and he has NO CLUE what to push back on. Misrepresenting knowledge and expertise to a primarily young audience is ridiculously irresponsible. And you’re telling me that it’s ok for Dave Rubin to the same thing with WAY MORE extremist and extremist-normalizers? Gtfoh
rogan's helped launder a few sleazy 'idea' people himself, and he should take his own advice and prepare a bit better, too.
Exactly. Rogan has had on plenty of shitty people and he almost never pushes back at all. Mainly because he doesn't disagree with them but also because he's intellectually lazy and a terrible interviewer.
Speaking of the IDW... I hear Peterson checked into rehab. As a human, I hope he has a good recovery, but the irony is juicy and I hope he never feels it's his place to trumpet his BS again.

I think he'd rather save that for a debate should one happen, don't you?
@@Starcrash6984 Perhaps he would, but the assumption there is that "element of surprise" is necessary or useful; this maintains a model where victory or defeat is the goal of a debate, rather than discussion and clarification.
@@UBIeconomics Point taken.
Dave Rubin: Stop. Defending. Me. You’re just shitting on me.
Rogan’s the hunter wounding the antelope with his “defense.”

3. Dave Rubin isn't the smartest
