Chowpatty Beach:
Adjoining the Marine Drive, Chowpatty Beach is one of the most famous beach in Girgaon area of South Mumbai. It is a favourite evening spot for courting couples, families and anyone out to enjoy what passes for fresh air. Watching the glorious sunsets from this beach is a sight worth seeing.
The beach is noted for its Ganesh Visarjan, when thousands of people from all over Mumbai and Pune come to immerse idols of Ganesh in the Arabian Sea.
Some of the famous tourist attraction near this beach namely Marine Drive, Fish Aquarium, Hanging Garden & Kamla Nehru Park (both situated in the Malabar Hills area).
VIEWING DESK:
Built on an area of 470 square metres, it can accommodate 500 people. According to BMC, it took around 7-8 months to construct everything which cost around ₹3.5 crores. In addition, this gallery has a seating capacity of 150 people.
This deck will be second to the Dadar viewing deck in the city from where citizens can enjoy an unhindered view of the Arabian sea.
The Construction of viewing deck was started in October 2021 and was opened for general public in April 2022 recently.
