she's so smart. I mean she actually had everything understood in the end, she had understood that he's no that kind of person who says I love you, he just values her, respects and when he picks her hand, that scene said much more about those two that all the episodes.
I see is sad story becouse womens don't like be values they want be loved. But even If I didn't wath the show I think this scene say abaut he love her and values in one time not anly values

I literally watched this show because of Contessina. The actress and her script were brilliant. Every thing else was just ok.

I loved to see her again in the second season too... and all the children were constantly thinking about her, when facing a decision they always wondered what grandma would have done. I loved it!

she was too intelligent, intuitive, opinionated, and was lead by what she felt in her heart and she was born at the wrong time in history. She had a good sense of business and politics. He didn't understand that that was what he needed in a wife. Typical 14th century male.
Did you all not watch the same show? The story mostly revolves around the romance and betrayal - but the two actually created and made the Medici into a Dynasty.
She was chosen due to her work with handling money and support. He was also the one to take over his father's business. Yes their love life is not typical - but they both were forced to marry. Their love grew slowly and it shows at the end.
They are not the typical love story but the one mant of us should see. We are told as kids to find your soul mate- but sometimes we have to learn to grow love and respect for the other.

Jacqueline Ayyy exactly! She should have left but she loved him too much to do so. And tbh I think he loved her too but didn’t want to admit it to himself because she was imposed to him by his father so he did not want to let his father win. But in the end when he kisses her hands first and then lips you can see he loves her. And also when Contessina confronts him and they fight, he makes love to her, and after they make love Cosimo locks the door at night when Maddalena was supposed to go into his room. So yea. He was a jerk but he loved her.
She deserved better but in the end they were just perfect for each other, somehow they are my guilty pleasure, I know I shouldn't ship them and yet... they fit so well! PS : kudos for Tessa and Scott

Although Madallena is in front of him ,all the time ,he starting something with her,after her flirtation with Enzo .He brought Madallena in house because wants to punish Contessina .He is definitely sadist .He hates and loves her at the same time.He hates her for the facts that is was his father's choise,not his.And at the same time ,he is very attracted to him, and because of that ,he doses all the moments with her, and does not have the courage ,to looks in at the her eyes.When they clash and have sex ,it is best to see,his huge hatred for her and even greater passion.That is only way his know he loves.After that sex ,her gaze reveals that she is aware of it .After sex his eyes look her differently ,the knowledge that she stayed because of him,that he is one she wants,not Enzo,the fact that he did everything that hurt her because of his possessiviness,than its clear to him in terms of sadness and affection for her.Another proof that Madallena was means of revenge ,is when she says Marco Bello,even if I ran away ,he would not notice.He consciously played with two woman.The best end would be that Madallena to leave with Marco.And that the one who had been with him for so long ,who tormented him like sadist , would definitely leave him .If he had lost her ,he would love her all his life.But unfortunately she loves him too .Sorry for bad english,it is no my ,native language.

I love their relationship, their dynamic, bit the truth is, the sad fact. They didn't marry the loves of their lives, who they'd both met, but they married the love that they needed to get through the life that they had to live. Cosimo couldn't have married Bianca and still been a banker and Contessina couldn't have married the guy because... okay, Cosimo married the love he needed for that life, honestly she could have been good without him.
I still love them and I'm so glad they got together.
Contessina would have been good too if she was allowed to be married to the noble she was in love with and honestly marrying Cosimo made her more harm than good at the end (i mean...being rejected by the other nobles, Cosimo bringing this other red haired women to their home,...)
