Hi Camden David. Generally nice tips on both Istanbul and Cappadocia. I am compelled to add, 1. Maybe skip the Hot Air Balloon. Take a few instagram shots from the ground. 2. Don’t forget the even “far away” towns, which provide true peace at the very finest hotels and are still all served by tour company pickups (looking at you Mustaphapaşa) - we stayed at Cappadocia Estates. And 3. You can hire a car and driver through the hotel (well we could), rather than renting a car. Even without common language we enjoyed our driver (Hi Şefki!) and the experience he brought. Thanks for the video.
I just have been in cappadocia, it was really beautiful. I travelled with a group so everything was organized. We just couldn't manage the balloon ride - the first day it was cancelled, and for the next days they wanted more money, 400€ instead of 280, but we didn't want to spend so much money on it.
@@mariama3842 It's not really mountains, it's more like giant boulders that you can go around, and gradual incline on hills. Be sure to choose a legit company with happy horses!
Hello David, i am going to capadocia next week, but i am doubting if you pay a guide to visit around, we have our own rental car. The price of the guide is between 250-320 euros without food of entrances, that is why i am doubting if visiting by ourself of payment the guide. Txs a lot for the tip :)
Hmmm, that's such a tough question to answer. I'm sure the guide will be able to provide extra informational that will enhance your experience. But in my experience, it's not necessary if you're on a tighter budget. No wrong answer really -- just depends on what you're hoping to get out of the experience. But I hope you have a wonderful visit!
Thanks for this informative vedio. We are going to Cappadocia in October. Any suggestions for weather at that time ? Also how far is hot air balloon place from the hotel which is in urgup? And will the hot air balloon companies cover the pick up and drop from the hotel which you told in the vedio ? I think hot air balloon is in another town ? And is there a roof top patio from where we can see the balloons flying in the morning
October should be a great month for weather (although I haven't visited at that time). I'd probably pack long-sleeves and definitely a jacket for the hot air balloon. All the hot air balloon companies make pick-ups & drop offs from the hotels (they'll arrange that with the hotels). It probably took us 15 minutes to drive to the actual site on the morning of the flight. There is a roof top patio at the Sacred House but it's not really known for being a spot to watch the balloons in the mornings. I hope that helps!
You can't know exactly the weather but nights and mornings gonna be cold that's for sure. Days could be hot or cool but nights are gonna be cold in October. Even August nights are pretty cool. I checked it was around 11-12c(55f if american). So in October it is gonna be colder of course.
Hi! Turkish here. I've visited Kapadokya several times in the summer and also once in the dead of the winter. It's lots of open air museums and geopark type of places, which is not comfortable to do in the summer heat. So October sounds really great, because you'll have nice chilly weather, and the colors of the trees turning will blend beautifully with the rocks (yes I am super romantic about that place, lol). Although I have to say, the geological formations (fairy chimneys and such) appear absolutely dreamy when covered in snow as well. Enjoy your travels!

Thanks for sharing all this! Always great to get a different perspective. Much appreciated :)
Cappadocia is the most beautiful place on earth. ❤love everything about Turkey
Absolutely!

Thanks for all these helpful videos on Turkey!
You got it!
Could you please share specifically which horseback riding tour you did? There are a lot of options online but yours seemed great!
Sure thing! Here's a link to it: bit.ly/3WqwN3t
Ample bus service from town to town, all hours of day'n'night. You don't need a car.
This is true -- But I would have saved money and had more flexibility with a car. Just depends what you plan to do :)
Very useful tips. Is December a OK time to visit Cappadocia? Thanks!
Haven't been in December but have hear you can get some great deals! Just be prepared for the cold :)
Could you please suggest me whether should I plan for the Cappadocia tour in the month of August?
New subscriber 🎉have you visited Alanya? Which airport do you recommend for Alanya?
Welcome to the community! I haven't visited Atlanya yet but it's high on my list :)
@@camdendavid thank you waiting for your review 🎉
Is there any inexpensive place to airbnb? PS can we not use train to go to this place from Istanbul using istabulkart card?
1) travellers tip - never ever not have some cash available, a little US$ and a little local currency. 2) Slow down, be calm, take the hat off…👍😂🤗
Hahahha you don't like that hat?!?!
How much did it cost for the horse ride and for how long was it? And at which time do you recommend to take the ride?
I think it was $28 USD per person and about 2 hours long. Started somewhere around 5:30 or 6 and rode til 7:30 or 8. Highly recommend that time slot
@@camdendavid is it safe for beginners as its on mountains?
@@mariama3842 I would say it is as long as you are taking a guided tour

@@camdendavidbro you should have asked professional tour companies and guides in the area.
@maluboeckx1041 bro I am a licensed tour guide in Cappadocia. We charge around $90 for the full day service. Where the hell you got that price?
Do you have a website with details and how to book?@@oguzhanturkoglu9311
Price?
For?
Instead of using taxi you can take a travel bus. This is most cheaper.
