      Hahahaa there are no silly questions Debbie - please do ask away! When I get enough of the same types of questions, that’s when I decide to make a video. I take time to think about thorough explanations and try to ask more people about their challenges. Thank YOU for letting me know that I was able to help solve your fight with the glue bottles. Please let me know if it worked for you!

    Where I live, we don't have any of those glue brands. We have a wooden white glue which dries transparently, but it also comes in plastic jars of 1 pound. Impossible to fill in the smaller bottles directly from it. But the problem is solved with a needless syringe. It makes the transfer extremely easy, without bubbles, without air pockets, without mess. Thank you for the tutorial though :)

    I like Elmers “glue all” and Aileens, Alieens is harder to find and more expensive where I live.
    The
    “Glue All”does glue almost anything and It tend to use a toothpick for glue application for quilling, I have several small tiny tipped glue bottles, but mine clog with Aileens and are quite messy.... So, I just squeeze a small blob on an old plastic card and then after multi uses,throw the toothpick away, I usually use all or most of glue, then wipe off old card.... no real waste, as I wipe toothpick off between uses, it gets used quite along time until it gets ugly, before. Actually throw it away.
    Sometimes I just use my metal tiny tipped pokey tool, as well.
    By the way , I love your tutorials!.... Thank you!

      Oh that's too bad Aleene's glue tends to clog up your fine tip nozzle, but I'm happy that Elmer's seems to work just fine. Yes, I've used toothpicks and plastic cards forever too! Thanks so much for your kind words Kathy - it makes a different to me to know I'm able to help! 😀

    🤯😱😳🤭😲 Of all the bottles of Aileen‘s glue I’ve purchased how is it that I never realized the various notches for pouring??? I would take the cap off, grab my xacto knife and cut the tippy top like you did. You just gave me one of those Oprahs’ “A-ha” moments!😂😆 I used Scotch’s tacky glue for a long time but switched to Aileen’s Turbo Dry tacky. It’s way more economical (Scotchs $6 vs Aileen’s 3 pack for $8) and grabs hold VERY quickly.
    Also, the tip on squeezing the empty bottle before filling…brilliant!!! LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!❤️THANK YOU SO MUCH! 😘

    Thanks for your tips! Now my turn: On new bottles of Elmer's Glue, pop off the orange tip and rub a thin film of petroleum jelly over the screw threads. Return the orange tip to its regular place, and glue away. The top will never become glued tight again! I taught 3rd grade, and I did this to every students' glue bottle the first week of school. I reminded kids to "peel off the scab" on the bottle top, and it would always easily twist off. No more frustrated kids!

  • @eh2179

    Thanks, very helpful vid 👍🏻🇬🇧. I didn’t think to squeeze the smaller bottle I was transferring glue into - 🙄. Glue went all over the place but did bash it a LOT on my work surface to get the air out and glue down. Also, what do people use for a pin in the very very small nozzle tips? Mine go rusty ‘always’ even bought special anti rust sewing pins and it still happens. Glue comes out brown :/

    • @PaperZenCeceliaLouie
      @PaperZenCeceliaLouie  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m happy to hear my tutorial was helpful E H! 🇨🇦 the sewing pin must be stainless steel to avoid rusting because it’s reacting with the liquid in the glue. My husband warns some packaging will claim to be stainless steel but it’s not. I didn’t know this and was lucky mine happened to be stainless steel map pins.

    • @PaperZenCeceliaLouie
      @PaperZenCeceliaLouie  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Irene, I have not tried a glue stick, but I don't think it would work well because you would need to apply pressure against the glue stick for the adhesive to coat well. Also, I have found glue sticks are not as strong a bond as the glues mentioned in this video. Try watching this one to see how I prefer to treat my glue: th-cam.com/video/hGL5PDZmyto/w-d-xo.html

  • @janicebleasdale7140
    @janicebleasdale7140 ปีที่แล้ว

    My problem is after i fill the glue bottle, even though I have burped or squeezed while filling, the bottle gets filled with air? And it gets hard to squeeze and the glue does not flow out. why does this happen and How to solve? I always clean the nozzle when I fill a bottle. Sometimes though afterwards the bottle remains easy to squeeze and glue flows easily.

    • @PaperZenCeceliaLouie
      @PaperZenCeceliaLouie  ปีที่แล้ว

      If the bottle has an air bubble, then it’s trapped under a thin layer of glue. Use a toothpick to pop the bubble to release the trapped air.
      Ensure to squeeze the bottle and watch the level of glue come up to the rim, THEN release the squeezing as you fill. This will ensure you don’t trap air again.

    I got a fine tipped bottle in a kit. Filled it with Aleens and it was so thick it wouldn’t come out. It looks like you don’t have that problem. Is there a difference in bottles, do you think?

    • @PaperZenCeceliaLouie
      @PaperZenCeceliaLouie  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh sorry to hear the Aleene's glue didn't work in your bottle Donna. Yes, there must be a difference between our fine tip nozzles then. When I look at the Darice listing on Amazon, I can't find any measurements to tell me how large the tip is. Does your kit say what the measurement of the nozzle is?
