Hate to bring the bad news, but if you put more paint over paint that's falling off, it all keeps falling off still :( You'll need to get past that garbage spray job before anything else will adhere for any amount of time :(

I called it a van when I first got it any everyone thought I had bought a delivery van 😂 here it’s called a truck. Even though it’s an suv or whatever, it’s called a truck 🤫
Try getting an ozone generator try to find one for about $100 run an extension cord for power. Keep windows rolled up and place generator inside vehicle for 12 to 24hr you may also want to run the fans / AC to circulate the ozone inside the vehicle to maximize effectiveness you can do this maybe for 2 to 3 hours then just run it regularly without circulation or do it periodically but the longer you leave the ozone in it will eradicate the bugs after this shampoo and vacuum the vehicle thoroughly hope these tips help. Also after doing the above mention tips you may want to put ant traps all inside the vehicle under seats this should fix your problem

Check for the timing belt being done less than 90k miles ago. After that's done, she's pretty much bulletproof.
