@arsenioss7020 Jesus kept the sabbath and si did the apostles and early Christians unto the roman Catholic church thought to change laws and times. A bir before that some Christians moved from sabbath to separate themselves from Jews who were rebellious but God did not change the day He sanctified. One day is holy But we worship Him every day.
With respect, I think the day of crucifixion of Jesus was Friday, and Saturday the Sabbath (John 19:42). Sunday, the 3rd day, Jesus is risen. Sunday is the first day of the week (John 20:1).
No, according to Christian tradition, Resurrection Sunday is the eighth day. It's the day after... This is why I celebrate resurrection every Sunday of the year.
@@maxjnb4816 Agree, tradition can distort truth, e.g. I think Christians definitely need to celebrate the birth of Jesus, but baby Jesus was given gifts by the 3 wise men, the Bible does not mention people giving gifts to each other at Christmas, there are implications to this gift giving, & the tradition of gift giving distracts from the meaning of Christmas.
@@ARoo-tru We're not speaking of Christmas and the giving of gifts. This is about setting aside the commandments of God ( The Sabbath) to follow a man made tradition (Sunday worship).

I am also a seventh day adventist but we have to be careful, because Ellen White wrote that we are the church of Laodicea Rev 3:14-19: "And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eye salve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent."
I have discovered it only recently during a fellowship. The Sabbath Day is meant for us people. Not as a ritual, like many misguided people do. The Lord wants us to rest, so that we dont exhaust ourselves. We all work hard and everything, and to be fair, it is very merciful of Him. Others everyone would work themselves to the bone. For example, I work 6 days with varying shifts and have 4 days off. Then my cycle starts over again. I always take 1 of my days off to just do nothing. The Lord asked me to rest one day and I can choose which one. Now I see the Sabbath different. It feels truly like a resting day. Dear Lord, I thank You for showing Your way to me. Me, an unworthy sinner of Your mercy. You know my weaknesses, but know how to treat me properly. I am blessed to have You in my life. Amen.

Saturday Sabbath Shabbat Hebrews 4:1-16 1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. 2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. 3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. 4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. 5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. 6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: 7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. 8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. 9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. 10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. 11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. 12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. 14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. 15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Leviticus 19:30 Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD. Isaiah 56:2,4,6 2 Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil. 4 For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant; 6 Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant; Isaiah 58:13 13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Bible-Verses-About-Sabbath-Day/
God did make the earth in 6 days. Just like Jesus turned water into wine in an instant. Where do you think that the sugar came from. Where do you think that the yeast came from. Where do you think that the skin of the grape went to make the wine. When there was only water. Where did the alcohol come from. The process to make wine takes years. And He made the best wine. This is a declaration that He is outside space and time. So if God said He made it in six days He did make it in six days.

@@bernardauberson7218 To address the question of whether the apostles met more than once a week and if this contrasts with the idea of a single meeting on the first day of the week, it’s essential to look at the book of Acts. Several passages illustrate that the early Christians, including the apostles, met frequently, and not just on the first day of the week, without making any definitive changes to the Law of God. 1. Acts 1:13-14 - After the ascension, the apostles gathered continuously in the upper room for prayer. This wasn’t restricted to a particular day but demonstrates a unified, ongoing practice. 2. Acts 2:42-46 - The early believers met “day by day” in the temple and homes, breaking bread and devoting themselves to teaching. Their meetings were daily, which directly counters the notion of a single weekly gathering. 3. Acts 5:42 - The apostles continued teaching and preaching every day, both in the temple and from house to house. This daily gathering further shows that meetings weren’t limited to any particular day. 4. Acts 20:7 - While there is a mention of a meeting on the first day of the week, this was a specific event and not an indication of a change in God’s Law regarding the Sabbath. It simply reflects an instance of gathering, not a new rule or mandate. When viewed together, these scriptures clearly show that the apostles and early Christians met frequently, and often daily, rather than only on the first day of the week. There’s no suggestion of a change in the Sabbath or any alteration to God’s laws regarding worship. Jesus’ View on Sabbath-Keeping Jesus Himself affirmed the importance of the Sabbath and clarified its purpose: 1. Matthew 12:8 - “For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.” In this passage, Jesus asserts His authority over the Sabbath but does not nullify it. Instead, He explains its intended purpose, freeing it from the burdensome interpretations of the Pharisees. 2. Mark 2:27 - “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.” Jesus highlights that the Sabbath is a gift meant for humanity’s benefit, affirming its relevance and purpose. 3. Luke 4:16 - “And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as was His custom, He went to the synagogue on the Sabbath day…” This verse shows that Jesus regularly observed the Sabbath by attending synagogue, setting an example for His followers. These scriptures show that Jesus kept the Sabbath and taught about it, not to abolish it but to clarify its true meaning. He restored the Sabbath to its rightful place, one of rest and spiritual renewal, not legalistic burdens. Daniel 7:25 and Changing Times and Laws As for the idea that times and laws would be changed, Daniel 7:25 warns of an entity that would “think to change times and laws.” Many have interpreted this as relating to later shifts, particularly the alteration of the Sabbath. It’s well-known that the Catholic Church reinterpreted the Sabbath commandment, emphasizing Sunday as the “Lord’s Day.” Catholics often cite Matthew 28:1-10 and Acts 20:7 in support of Sunday worship. However, this shift is the subject of significant debate among various Christian groups. The Sabbath commandment is mentioned 150 times in Scripture, more than any other commandment. Its importance is clear-if it mattered that much to God, it should matter to us as well. The early Christians didn’t abandon it, and neither should we. This version includes Jesus’ clear affirmations of Sabbath observance, which reinforce the argument for its continued relevance and importance, both during His ministry and in the early church.

This has been twisted... Jesus is not the Sabbath. The Lord is very clear that the Sabbath is the 7th day and will continue into eternity.. Isaiah 66 Isa 66:22 "For just as the new heavens and the new earth Which I make will endure before Me," declares the LORD, "So your offspring and your name will endure. Isa 66:23 "And it shall be from new moon to new moon And from sabbath to sabbath, All mankind will come to bow down before Me," says the LORD. Showing that the Sabbath will be honored in heaven and this clearly can't be Jesus.. Then you have Hebrews 4:9 showing that it is clearly relevant to Christians.. Hebrews 4:4 For He has said somewhere concerning the seventh day: "AND GOD RESTED ON THE SEVENTH DAY FROM ALL HIS WORKS"; Heb 4:5 and again in this passage, "THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST." Heb 4:6 Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly had good news preached to them failed to enter because of disobedience, Heb 4:7 He again fixes a certain day, "Today," saying through David after so long a time just as has been said before, "TODAY IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE, DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS." Heb 4:8 For if Joshua had given them rest, He would not have spoken of another day after that. Heb 4:9 So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. (CLEARLY STILL A SABBATH FOR THE RIGHTEOUS) Heb 4:10 For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His. Heb 4:11 Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience. Heb 4:12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. The Sabbath was changed by Constantine and the catholic church in 321 & 364 AD.. There isn't one single scripture changing the Sabbath or saying that the Lord is the Sabbath. That is a doctrine of men.

Colossians 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days. Hebrews 4 Paul explains that the Sabbath is rest from our WORKS - The Greek form of the word 'works' in Hebrews 4:10 is (ἔργα). That form is used of the acts of God - both as creator, Hebrews 4:10; and as governor, John 9:3; Acts 13:41; Revelation 15:3; of sundry signal acts of Christ, to rouse men to believe in him and to accomplish their salvation (ie healing miracles).
For Christ's sake , Sabbath is the day God rested after creating the universe. It's a day not a person and no one can change it . It's like you're trying to change your date of birth.

Christ said "...come unto Me and I will give you rest (Sabbath)...". Christ is eternal Sabbath rest, eternal day. The phrase of, "...in the beginning...," is a direct reference to not just "a" beginning, (the creation of matter) but "various" beginnings, (stars, earth, life, time) but it ultimately focused on the priority beginning, the creation of man and the woman who they will join together in their family pilgrimage of discovering God.

Promises to All Who Keep God's Law of Love Remember the sabbath day to keep it holy. Exodus 20:8. God said, "The seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God." He placed His sanctity upon this day and blessed it and hallowed it as a day of rest.... It is the only commandment in the whole Decalogue that tells who God is. It places God in distinction with every other god. It says the God that made the heaven and the earth, the God that made the trees and the flowers and that created man; this is the God that you are to keep before your children, and you have only to point to the flowers and tell them that He made these and that He rested on the seventh day from all His labors.... The seventh day is a God-given memorial.59 Pointing to God as the maker of the heavens and the earth, it distinguishes the true God from all false gods. All who keep the seventh day, signify by this act that they are worshippers of Jehovah. Thus the Sabbath is the sign of man's allegiance to God as long as there are any upon the earth to serve Him.... God has given men six days wherein to labor, and He requires that their own work be done in the six working days. Acts of necessity and mercy are permitted on the Sabbath, the sick and suffering are at all times to be cared for; but unnecessary labor is to be strictly avoided.... And the commandment includes all within our gates. The inmates of the house are to lay aside their worldly business during the sacred hours. All should unite to honor God by willing service upon His holy day.60 So long as the heavens and the earth endure, the Sabbath will continue as a sign of the Creator's power. Nothing more “sets you apart” from this lawless world than keeping than obeying God’s commands, all of them. Nothing will get you more persecuted as a believer than believing God vs believing men. Sunday was first institutionalized by Constantine in 321 AD as the “venerable day of the Sun.”
Sunday, or the Lord's Day, is the cornerstone of Orthodox Christian worship and observance. This special status stems from a combination of theological and historical reasons: Theological Reasons Resurrection of Jesus Christ: The most fundamental reason is the belief that Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the first day of the week, which Christians later designated as Sunday. This event is the central tenet of Christian faith, and Sunday commemorates this victory over death. First Day of Creation: In the biblical account of creation, God rested on the seventh day after completing His work. Christians see Sunday as a continuation of this divine rest, a day set aside for spiritual renewal and communion with God. Historical Reasons Early Christian Practices: From the earliest days of Christianity, believers gathered together on the first day of the week to break bread (the Eucharist) and pray. This practice, rooted in the commemoration of Christ's resurrection, solidified Sunday's importance in Christian life. Distinction from Judaism: By choosing Sunday as their primary day of worship, early Christians differentiated themselves from Jewish practices, which centered on the Sabbath. In essence, Sunday for Orthodox Christians is more than just a day off; it's a sacred day dedicated to celebrating the Resurrection, connecting with God, and strengthening the bonds of the Christian community.
"Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always." Matt. 28:20. When did Jesus command them to keep the first day, since He never mentioned it, not even once. Jesus performed seven Sabbath miracles. Was that to show the Sabbath was abolished, or was it to demonstrate that it was lawful to do well on the Sabbath day? "How much then is a man better than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do well on the Sabbath days." Matt. 12:12. Are His words just for the Jews? Did Jesus regard the Sabbath as a literal day? The Sabbath is mentioned 49 (7×7) times in the Gospels, the first day is mentioned but six times (man's number). That fact alone should tell you which day is important to God.

When discussing biblical support for Sabbath observance, particularly the Seventh-day Sabbath (Saturday), the Bible contains numerous verses that uphold this practice. In contrast, there are very few verses that proponents of Sunday observance (commonly referred to as the "Lord's Day") point to as justification for worshiping on Sunday. 1. Seventh-day Sabbath (Saturday) The observance of the seventh-day Sabbath is a consistent theme throughout the Bible, particularly in the Old Testament but also mentioned in the New Testament. Here are key Bible verses supporting the seventh-day Sabbath: • Genesis 2:2-3: "By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so, on the seventh day he rested from all his work. Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done." o This is the very first mention of the Sabbath, with God resting and sanctifying the seventh day of creation. • Exodus 20:8-11 (Fourth Commandment): "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labour and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work... For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore, the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy." o This commandment, part of the Ten Commandments, explicitly commands the observance of the seventh day as the Sabbath. • Exodus 31:16-17: "The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath, celebrating it for the generations to come as a lasting covenant. It will be a sign between me and the Israelites forever, for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed." o This verse highlights the Sabbath as a perpetual covenant and a sign between God and His people. • Isaiah 58:13-14: "If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath and from doing as you, please on my holy day... then you will find your joy in the Lord." o This passage emphasizes the blessings associated with keeping the Sabbath holy. • Mark 2:27-28: "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. So, the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath." o Jesus affirms the importance of the Sabbath and His lordship over it. • Luke 4:16: "He [Jesus] went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom." o This verse shows Jesus' regular practice of keeping the Sabbath by attending the synagogue. • Acts 13:42-44: "As Paul and Barnabas were leaving the synagogue, the people invited them to speak further about these things on the next Sabbath... On the next Sabbath almost, the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord." o This passage shows the early Christians, including Paul, observing the Sabbath. • Hebrews 4:9: "There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God." o The New Testament continues to affirm the concept of a Sabbath rest. 2. Sunday Worship (the "Lord's Day") Those who observe Sunday as the day of worship often point to a few select New Testament passages to support the change from Saturday to Sunday. The key verses include: • Matthew 28:1 and Mark 16:1-2: "After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb." o This is the account of Jesus' resurrection, which occurred on the first day of the week (Sunday). Sunday worship advocates argue that the resurrection justifies a shift in the day of worship. • John 20:19: "On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, 'Peace be with you!'" o Jesus appears to the disciples on the first day of the week (Sunday). • Acts 20:7: "On the first day of the week we came together to break bread. Paul spoke to the people and, because he intended to leave the next day, kept on talking until midnight." o This is one of the main verses used to support Sunday worship, as it shows early Christians gathering on the first day of the week to break bread. • 1 Corinthians 16:2: "On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with your income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made." o This verse speaks of setting aside offerings on the first day of the week. Some interpret this as evidence of early Christian gatherings on Sunday. • Revelation 1:10: "On the Lord's Day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet." o This verse mentions "the Lord's Day," which many Christians associate with Sunday. However, the specific meaning of "the Lord's Day" is debated, as the Bible does not directly link it to Sunday in this context. Comparative Analysis: • Sabbath (Saturday) Verses: There are dozens of clear, direct references to the seventh-day Sabbath in both the Old and New Testaments (Genesis 2:2-3; Exodus 20:8-11; Isaiah 58:13-14; Luke 4:16; Acts 13:42-44, etc.). The Sabbath is part of the Ten Commandments and a sign of God's covenant with His people. Many Old Testament prophets and Jesus Himself reinforced the importance of Sabbath observance. • Sunday (Lord's Day) Verses: There are very few explicit references to the first day of the week as a special day for worship. The key verses used to support Sunday worship (Matthew 28:1, Acts 20:7, 1 Corinthians 16:2) are mostly descriptive and focus on events like Jesus’ resurrection or early Christian gatherings. There is no explicit command in the New Testament to change the Sabbath from the seventh day to the first day. The Bible contains far more verses explicitly supporting the seventh-day Sabbath (Saturday) than it does for Sunday worship. The seventh-day Sabbath is affirmed through creation, the Ten Commandments, and Jesus' own practice, while Sunday observance is based more on tradition and the significance of the resurrection, with only a few indirect verses supporting it.
A National Sunday Law refers to legislation enforcing Sunday as a mandatory day of rest or worship, often linked to Christian Sabbath observance. Throughout history, various governments and religious groups have merged state and church authorities to enforce Sunday rest, typically driven by Christian religious interests. Below is a timeline of historical instances and discussions where state and religion have combined to enforce or propose a National Sunday Law: 1. Roman Empire (Constantine's Sunday Law - 321 AD) Event: The first instance of a state-enforced Sunday law comes from Emperor Constantine I of the Roman Empire in 321 AD. Law Details: Constantine decreed that Sunday, the "venerable day of the sun," would be a day of rest. All workshops were to be closed, and people were encouraged to rest, except for those engaged in farming. This law wasn't overtly religious but aligned with Constantine's support of Christianity, which was growing in prominence. Significance: This was the first official act of combining state power with Christian religious practice to enforce Sunday observance. While Constantine remained a pagan until his deathbed baptism, his pro-Christian laws helped shape Christian influence on future legislation. 2. Holy Roman Empire (Council of Laodicea - 364 AD) Event: The Council of Laodicea, an ecclesiastical synod held in 364 AD, established formal decrees regarding Christian conduct and Sabbath observance. Law Details: Canon 29 from the council stated that Christians should not "Judaize" by resting on the Sabbath (Saturday), but rather work on that day and rest on Sunday, honoring it as the Lord's Day. Significance: Though ecclesiastical in origin, it further pushed the shift from the biblical Sabbath (Saturday) to Sunday rest, contributing to future laws that would enforce Sunday as a day of rest. 3. Medieval Europe - Middle Ages (Church-State Influence) Event: During the Middle Ages (roughly 5th to 15th centuries), the Roman Catholic Church wielded considerable influence over secular rulers. Various local and regional laws enforced Sunday rest based on religious authority. Law Details: Throughout much of Christianized Europe, Sunday laws were more customary than statutory. However, the church's control over kings and states led to the enforcement of Sunday as a religious and rest day, with non-observance sometimes being punished. Significance: The church’s dominance in medieval Europe established Sunday as a uniform day of worship, intertwining the religious and secular realms. 4. Colonial America (Sunday Blue Laws) Event: The American colonies adopted Sunday laws, commonly called Blue Laws, from the 17th century onward. These laws restricted various activities on Sunday in adherence to Christian religious norms. Law Details: Blue Laws prohibited most forms of work, entertainment, and even travel on Sundays. In New England, for example, only church attendance was encouraged, and failure to observe these laws often resulted in fines or public punishment. Significance: These laws were among the earliest forms of state-enforced religious observance in the American context. Even after the U.S. Constitution’s First Amendment ensured the separation of church and state, remnants of these laws persisted. 5. 19th Century USA (National Sunday Law Movement - 1880s) Event: In the 1880s, there was a major push for a National Sunday Law in the United States. The movement was spearheaded by groups such as the National Reform Association (NRA), which sought to make America a Christian nation through legislation. Law Details: The NRA lobbied Congress to pass a national law mandating Sunday observance. Senator Henry W. Blair introduced the Blair Sunday Rest Bill in 1888, which aimed to "promote its observance as a day of religious worship." Significance: Though the bill failed to pass, this era marked one of the most organized efforts to legally enforce Sunday rest in the U.S. Seventh-day Adventists, in particular, strongly opposed the bill, seeing it as a violation of religious liberty. 6. 20th Century USA (Continuation of Blue Laws) Event: Though formal national Sunday laws did not succeed, Blue Laws persisted in various U.S. states and municipalities well into the 20th century. Law Details: Many states, including Connecticut, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, had laws prohibiting the sale of certain goods or engaging in specific activities on Sunday, often justified by religious or moral reasoning. Over time, these laws were gradually repealed or relaxed. Significance: While not a national effort, these laws reflected lingering attempts to combine state power with Christian religious customs to regulate Sunday as a day of rest. 7. European Union (Sunday Rest Proposals - 2009-2011) Event: In the early 2000s, there were discussions at the European level to introduce mandatory Sunday rest across the European Union (EU). Law Details: In 2009, the European Parliament debated whether to pass legislation enforcing Sunday as a weekly rest day across member states. Although supported by Christian and trade union groups, the proposal faced resistance, especially from secular members of the EU. Significance: While no EU-wide law was passed, the debate highlighted continued efforts by religious and social groups to enforce Sunday observance at a legislative level in modern times. 8. Germany (Constitutional Protection of Sunday Rest) Event: Germany has constitutional protections for Sunday as a day of rest, based on Article 140 of its Basic Law (Grundgesetz), combined with the Weimar Constitution (Article 139). Law Details: Sunday is legally protected as a day of rest and spiritual elevation. Most businesses are required to close, and exceptions are limited to essential services. This is partly rooted in Christian tradition but also justified on social grounds. Significance: Germany represents a modern example where Sunday observance is legally enforced at the national level, though the reasons extend beyond purely religious grounds. Summary of Lobbyist and Discussion Efforts: 1888 - U.S. National Sunday Law Movement: The Blair Bill proposed at the national level in the U.S., supported by religious and reform groups, marked a significant lobbying effort. 2009-2011 - EU-wide Sunday Rest Proposals: Lobbyist efforts, primarily from Christian trade unions and religious organizations, sought to establish an EU-wide Sunday rest policy, though it did not succeed. Ongoing - Various Modern Debates: While the formal push for a National Sunday Law in Western countries has diminished, religious and social groups periodically raise the issue in regions with historical Sunday observance laws.

Amen.

Hebrews 4:1-16
1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

6 Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;

Ty for sharing I love reading the Gospel
God did make the earth in 6 days. Just like Jesus turned water into wine in an instant. Where do you think that the sugar came from. Where do you think that the yeast came from. Where do you think that the skin of the grape went to make the wine. When there was only water. Where did the alcohol come from. The process to make wine takes years. And He made the best wine. This is a declaration that He is outside space and time. So if God said He made it in six days He did make it in six days.
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Old Testament even says it’s Saturday

His heart is not right with God. he's leading people to hell.
How can you love his heart?
@May-May1888 there are traditions that lead to hell, yet despite all these failings, doesn't God look on the heart? To what purpose is anyone chosen but to bare a light on a hill. I know he's not perfect... none of us are. Do any of us comprehend the vastness of the goodness of God yet take seriously His ways of doing justice? Therefore, if we decern a truth or an error, continue to build on what is good. And that which will lead us to repentance (including Mar Mari) will be the goodness of God. Nobody is perfect but God.
When we correct with harshness and feel justified in doing so, we cast stones. When we correct with mercy and compassion, we cast grace.

Jesus’ View on Sabbath-Keeping
Jesus Himself affirmed the importance of the Sabbath and clarified its purpose:
Daniel 7:25 and Changing Times and Laws
As for the idea that times and laws would be changed, Daniel 7:25 warns of an entity that would “think to change times and laws.” Many have interpreted this as relating to later shifts, particularly the alteration of the Sabbath.
This is what happens when you believe the Creation was Not Literally six days. AMEN.

Hebrews 4:4 For He has said somewhere concerning the seventh day: "AND GOD RESTED ON THE SEVENTH DAY FROM ALL HIS WORKS";
Heb 4:5 and again in this passage, "THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST."
Heb 4:6 Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly had good news preached to them failed to enter because of disobedience,
Heb 4:7 He again fixes a certain day, "Today," saying through David after so long a time just as has been said before, "TODAY IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE, DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS."
Heb 4:8 For if Joshua had given them rest, He would not have spoken of another day after that.
Heb 4:9 So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. (CLEARLY STILL A SABBATH FOR THE RIGHTEOUS)
Heb 4:10 For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His.

The Greek form of the word 'works' in Hebrews 4:10 is (ἔργα). That form is used of the acts of God - both as creator, Hebrews 4:10; and as governor, John 9:3; Acts 13:41; Revelation 15:3; of sundry signal acts of Christ, to rouse men to believe in him and to accomplish their salvation (ie healing miracles).

Promises to All Who Keep God's Law of Love
Remember the sabbath day to keep it holy.
The seventh day is a God-given memorial.59
Pointing to God as the maker of the heavens and the earth, it distinguishes the true God from all false gods.
All should unite to honor God by willing service upon His holy day.60
So long as the heavens and the earth endure, the Sabbath will continue as a sign of the Creator's power. And when Eden shall bloom on earth again, God's holy rest day will be honored by all beneath the sun. "From one sabbath to another" the inhabitants of the glorified new earth shall go up "to worship before me, saith the Lord sd 59.null.null - SD 59.5

"I AM LORD OF THE SABBATH"📜
Nothing more “sets you apart” from this lawless world than keeping than obeying God’s commands, all of them. Nothing will get you more persecuted as a believer than believing God vs believing men. Sunday was first institutionalized by Constantine in 321 AD as the “venerable day of the Sun.”
Sunday, or the Lord's Day, is the cornerstone of Orthodox Christian worship and observance. This special status stems from a combination of theological and historical reasons:
Theological Reasons
Resurrection of Jesus Christ: The most fundamental reason is the belief that Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the first day of the week, which Christians later designated as Sunday.
Historical Reasons
Early Christian Practices: From the earliest days of Christianity, believers gathered together on the first day of the week to break bread (the Eucharist) and pray.

@@SardonianSmile You forgot the most important reason : the day of the Resurrection is the First day of the Week and the First Day of the new Creation, the 8th day !
1. Seventh-day Sabbath (Saturday)
The observance of the seventh-day Sabbath is a consistent theme throughout the Bible, particularly in the Old Testament but also mentioned in the New Testament. Here are key Bible verses supporting the seventh-day Sabbath:
• Genesis 2:2-3:
"By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so, on the seventh day he rested from all his work. Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done."
o This is the very first mention of the Sabbath, with God resting and sanctifying the seventh day of creation.
• Exodus 20:8-11 (Fourth Commandment):
"Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labour and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work... For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore, the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy."
o This commandment, part of the Ten Commandments, explicitly commands the observance of the seventh day as the Sabbath.
• Exodus 31:16-17:
"The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath, celebrating it for the generations to come as a lasting covenant. It will be a sign between me and the Israelites forever, for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed."
o This verse highlights the Sabbath as a perpetual covenant and a sign between God and His people.
• Isaiah 58:13-14:
"If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath and from doing as you, please on my holy day... then you will find your joy in the Lord."
o This passage emphasizes the blessings associated with keeping the Sabbath holy.
• Mark 2:27-28:
"The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. So, the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath."
o Jesus affirms the importance of the Sabbath and His lordship over it.
• Luke 4:16:
"He [Jesus] went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom."
o This verse shows Jesus' regular practice of keeping the Sabbath by attending the synagogue.
• Acts 13:42-44:
"As Paul and Barnabas were leaving the synagogue, the people invited them to speak further about these things on the next Sabbath... On the next Sabbath almost, the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord."
o This passage shows the early Christians, including Paul, observing the Sabbath.
• Hebrews 4:9:
"There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God."
o The New Testament continues to affirm the concept of a Sabbath rest.
2. Sunday Worship (the "Lord's Day")
Those who observe Sunday as the day of worship often point to a few select New Testament passages to support the change from Saturday to Sunday. The key verses include:
• Matthew 28:1 and Mark 16:1-2:
"After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb."
o This is the account of Jesus' resurrection, which occurred on the first day of the week (Sunday). Sunday worship advocates argue that the resurrection justifies a shift in the day of worship.
• John 20:19:
"On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, 'Peace be with you!'"
o Jesus appears to the disciples on the first day of the week (Sunday).
• Acts 20:7:
"On the first day of the week we came together to break bread. Paul spoke to the people and, because he intended to leave the next day, kept on talking until midnight."
o This is one of the main verses used to support Sunday worship, as it shows early Christians gathering on the first day of the week to break bread.
• 1 Corinthians 16:2:
"On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with your income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made."
o This verse speaks of setting aside offerings on the first day of the week. Some interpret this as evidence of early Christian gatherings on Sunday.
• Revelation 1:10:
"On the Lord's Day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet."
o This verse mentions "the Lord's Day," which many Christians associate with Sunday. However, the specific meaning of "the Lord's Day" is debated, as the Bible does not directly link it to Sunday in this context.
Comparative Analysis:
• Sabbath (Saturday) Verses: There are dozens of clear, direct references to the seventh-day Sabbath in both the Old and New Testaments (Genesis 2:2-3; Exodus 20:8-11; Isaiah 58:13-14; Luke 4:16; Acts 13:42-44, etc.).
Blessings 🙏.

Why on earth would human being decide to remove one verse from the Bible n say it's no longer necessary

However, what are "... the shadows of things to come"?
A National Sunday Law refers to legislation enforcing Sunday as a mandatory day of rest or worship, often linked to Christian Sabbath observance. Throughout history, various governments and religious groups have merged state and church authorities to enforce Sunday rest, typically driven by Christian religious interests. Below is a timeline of historical instances and discussions where state and religion have combined to enforce or propose a National Sunday Law:
1. Roman Empire (Constantine's Sunday Law - 321 AD)
Event:
The first instance of a state-enforced Sunday law comes from Emperor Constantine I of the Roman Empire in 321 AD.
Law Details:
Constantine decreed that Sunday, the "venerable day of the sun," would be a day of rest. All workshops were to be closed, and people were encouraged to rest, except for those engaged in farming. This law wasn't overtly religious but aligned with Constantine's support of Christianity, which was growing in prominence.
Significance:
This was the first official act of combining state power with Christian religious practice to enforce Sunday observance. While Constantine remained a pagan until his deathbed baptism, his pro-Christian laws helped shape Christian influence on future legislation.
2. Holy Roman Empire (Council of Laodicea - 364 AD)
Event:
The Council of Laodicea, an ecclesiastical synod held in 364 AD, established formal decrees regarding Christian conduct and Sabbath observance.
Law Details:
Canon 29 from the council stated that Christians should not "Judaize" by resting on the Sabbath (Saturday), but rather work on that day and rest on Sunday, honoring it as the Lord's Day.
Significance:
Though ecclesiastical in origin, it further pushed the shift from the biblical Sabbath (Saturday) to Sunday rest, contributing to future laws that would enforce Sunday as a day of rest.
3. Medieval Europe - Middle Ages (Church-State Influence)
Event:
During the Middle Ages (roughly 5th to 15th centuries), the Roman Catholic Church wielded considerable influence over secular rulers. Various local and regional laws enforced Sunday rest based on religious authority.
Law Details:
Throughout much of Christianized Europe, Sunday laws were more customary than statutory. However, the church's control over kings and states led to the enforcement of Sunday as a religious and rest day, with non-observance sometimes being punished.
Significance:
The church’s dominance in medieval Europe established Sunday as a uniform day of worship, intertwining the religious and secular realms.
4. Colonial America (Sunday Blue Laws)
Event:
The American colonies adopted Sunday laws, commonly called Blue Laws, from the 17th century onward. These laws restricted various activities on Sunday in adherence to Christian religious norms.
Law Details:
Blue Laws prohibited most forms of work, entertainment, and even travel on Sundays. In New England, for example, only church attendance was encouraged, and failure to observe these laws often resulted in fines or public punishment.
Significance:
These laws were among the earliest forms of state-enforced religious observance in the American context. Even after the U.S. Constitution’s First Amendment ensured the separation of church and state, remnants of these laws persisted.
5. 19th Century USA (National Sunday Law Movement - 1880s)
Event:
In the 1880s, there was a major push for a National Sunday Law in the United States. The movement was spearheaded by groups such as the National Reform Association (NRA), which sought to make America a Christian nation through legislation.
Law Details:
The NRA lobbied Congress to pass a national law mandating Sunday observance. Senator Henry W. Blair introduced the Blair Sunday Rest Bill in 1888, which aimed to "promote its observance as a day of religious worship."
Significance:
Though the bill failed to pass, this era marked one of the most organized efforts to legally enforce Sunday rest in the U.S. Seventh-day Adventists, in particular, strongly opposed the bill, seeing it as a violation of religious liberty.
6. 20th Century USA (Continuation of Blue Laws)
Event:
Though formal national Sunday laws did not succeed, Blue Laws persisted in various U.S. states and municipalities well into the 20th century.
Law Details:
Many states, including Connecticut, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, had laws prohibiting the sale of certain goods or engaging in specific activities on Sunday, often justified by religious or moral reasoning. Over time, these laws were gradually repealed or relaxed.
Significance:
While not a national effort, these laws reflected lingering attempts to combine state power with Christian religious customs to regulate Sunday as a day of rest.
7. European Union (Sunday Rest Proposals - 2009-2011)
Event:
In the early 2000s, there were discussions at the European level to introduce mandatory Sunday rest across the European Union (EU).
Law Details:
In 2009, the European Parliament debated whether to pass legislation enforcing Sunday as a weekly rest day across member states. Although supported by Christian and trade union groups, the proposal faced resistance, especially from secular members of the EU.
Significance:
While no EU-wide law was passed, the debate highlighted continued efforts by religious and social groups to enforce Sunday observance at a legislative level in modern times.
8. Germany (Constitutional Protection of Sunday Rest)
Event:
Germany has constitutional protections for Sunday as a day of rest, based on Article 140 of its Basic Law (Grundgesetz), combined with the Weimar Constitution (Article 139).
Law Details:
Sunday is legally protected as a day of rest and spiritual elevation. Most businesses are required to close, and exceptions are limited to essential services. This is partly rooted in Christian tradition but also justified on social grounds.
Significance:
Germany represents a modern example where Sunday observance is legally enforced at the national level, though the reasons extend beyond purely religious grounds.
Summary of Lobbyist and Discussion Efforts:
