L.A. homeowner shoots neighbor who entered home and refused to leave

- Gunfire erupted inside a home near the Hollywood Bowl Tuesday morning when a man shot his neighbor after that neighbor forced his way into his home and refused to leave, authorities said. Officers responded to the 2200 block of Chelan Place just before 11 a.m. on reports of an assault with a deadly weapon.
According to Los Angeles police, the neighbor was undergoing some type of mental “episode” when he first shattered the back window of a Porsche and then forced his way into his neighbor’s home. “He was asked to leave and when he refused the homeowner retrieved a firearm [and] shot the suspect,” said LAPD Officer Charles Miller.

I don't believe it was a "dispute among neighbors". Alex busted the window of a Porsche and then broke into neighbors home. It's another case of citizens in LA having to defend themselves and it is becoming commonplace these days.

@@robertfrank886 I wouldn't even say that much, I would politely say I didn't want to make any statement without my attorney present. That might require you being detained temporarily and being transported to the station for questioning but it would protect you as a citizen from being coerced or led to make a statement made during a time of extreme stress and trauma.

To be fair it is the neighbors saying so. They know him obviously they mentioned his father passed away. One thing you'll notice when living in LA talking about born and raised is rich people who end up having kids here their kids sometimes end up not being okay at least one of em also no offense but white people especially tend to leave em be often so for example this dude probably started using drugs and his father who's probably wealthy left him the house and lots of money

Also, LA County has now loosened requirements on CCW permits so you can carry useful things outside of your home. We as citizens allow criminals to continue being criminals by being easy victims. most all people can shoot a gun, and actually hit a target, but MOST people don't know the right thing to do in situations of extreme danger. ftm, most people don't even know when a gun is actually needed. Do you have Road Rage? If so, then you shouldn't carry a gun. Pride, Ego, and Testosterone are not compatible with guns.

I imagine it was gut wrenching for the homeowner to shoot the neighbor, but he was legally within his rights and he has a personal responsibility to protect his family. I'm sure this is absolutely gut wrenching for the homeowner as well as the deceased neighbor's family.
