Dude went into 2018 with 14 seasons/50,000 minutes of wear and tear under his belt. Played all 82 games leading the league in minutes and almost won a 5th MVP. Game 7 against the Celtics was his 165th playoff game since 2011, trying to make it back to the Finals for the 8th straight year. At the end of that game 7, he had already achieved the greatest carry job in playoff history with a BROKEN squad averaging 34/9/9 on 54% shooting. After playing every minute in the Garden, the Celtics were GASSED. These were the greatest athletes in the world in peak conditioning sucking air. But there Lebron was, chilling on the court as if he was waiting for a bus. As Al Horford said “it was disturbing”.
He was a beast. Celtics best player was injured that year though. I'd love to have seen that Irving v Lebron match up. Not sure if the outcome would've been the same.
Slow down! Pushback on "the greatest athletes in the world" about the Celtics players. You 'muricans call yourselves "best in the world" too easily. LeBron, yes! The rest of them, absolutely not.
@noktin Lebron was probably the most athletic player in the league for the first few years of his NBA career, but since around 2016, or so, he's been far from the most athletic player in the league. Certainly, he is NOT now. He's not even the most athletic player on this current US OLYMPIC team. Having said that, if the NBA doesn't have the most athletic players, then who does?
I feel like that game winner vs Toronto just sums up that entire playoff run. One handed runner off the glass going full speed to beat the buzzer. He was just flat out unstoppable and it took 4 all stars (that doesn't even do it justice lol) to take him down.
Here’s what Steve Kerr said about 2018 LeBron vs 2013 Lebron after SWEEPING him in the 2018 Finals. "Well, he's terrifying," Kerr said. "He really is. Every time he comes down the court, getting downhill, you just know he's either going to get to the rim or he's going to find one of his shooters for a three-point shot. He's added the three-point threat. When we came here three years ago in the first meeting, we weren't fearful of his shot. We were fearful of his power and his penetration and his passing, but now you fear everything. I think maybe the greatest testament to LeBron is that five years ago he was one of the top-five players of all time. From five years ago until now, it seems like he's ten times better, because he's added so much skill to his game. I get asked all the time about MJ, LeBron, and it's such a difficult question to ask. All I know is they're the two best players that I've ever witnessed. They're very different, but however you want to rank them, they're right there together.
The fact this was said 6 years ago, and to think what Bron has done since then, to me It's not a debate anymore. Bron is the GOAT. To each their own tho
@@rojeliocastro9733no he isnt. Longevity doesnt mean GOAT. Its longevity. Luka Doncic scores more points, assists, and rebounds than prime Lebron ever did. Compare Lukaa first 6 years to Lebron's first 6 years. Its a joke in stats. Lebron has longevity since Lula may get injured or whatever. Individually, Lebron never had any season as great as 2006 Kobe, or any of Lukaa previous 6 years. And not 1986-1993 Jordan. Those are EXTREMES which Lebron never had. Lebron has longevity, yes
@@rojeliocastro97336 years ago, yes. But Lebron has not improved. He has "longevity" but he has not improved since then. But there is no way I would take him over Luka Doncic or 1986-1993 Jordan. Unless its longevity related
@@rojeliocastro9733Seriously, how many basketball eras did you watch? In terms of longevity, Lebron has the advantage. But other legends beat Lebron in terms of prime vs prime. Nevermind Jordan. Luka Doncic's first 6 seasons blow any 6 year streak of Lebron's out the water. Larry Bird right before injury in 1988 already outperformed Lebron's best season several times. But then Bird was done and injured. Longevity doesnt mean best. Family Guy has a million seasons. Yet there are plenty of superior shows with only 6 seasons
2018s better than 2013 and it’s sad people don’t understand that. I don’t see 2013 Bron winning in 2016 against the warriors from 3-1 because his mentality was still developing and also his understanding for the court and placement of seeing stuff before it happened was constantly developing over those years. By 2018 Lebron had literally mastered offense and sacrificed just slight athleticism and some defense only due to the offensive load he took on but his intangibles compared to 2013 were unmatched. People talk about his 40% 3 in 2013 but it was just a hot year and doesn’t tell the true story. He was a better shooter in 2018 as he could shoot in different ways, off the dribble pulls ups , deep range etc but also that turn around jumper was reliable a lot more. Plus he was pulling up clutch a lot that season. It was a great time to be alive man.
@@khaliqtankard1708 2013 Lebron was significantly better than 2015 Lebron. 2015 it seemed like Lebron was entering his decline phase then he reached ultimate mastery offensive peak from 2016 too 2018. Unusual
Incorrect. This stuff is literally verifiable. James shot a higher percentage from 12-13 than he did 17-18 from 3-10 feet, 10-16 feet, 16-23 feet and 23+ feet. In fact his best shooting from the midranges was 2011. He also shot a mich higher percentage from the FT line from 11-13. He was objectively a better shooter from everywhere on the floor in Miami. The reason his numbers were so good in 2017 and 2018 was because those teams were full of 3 point shooters. 16-18 was Lebron's highest FGA rate within 3 feet of the basket of his entire career, an absurd 44 percent of his FGA came from 0-3 feet those years compared to just 32 percent from 11-13. And this is despite Lebron being a WORSE athlete. The difference was the spacing, not his abilities. Miami Lebron on the 17-18 Cavs would have been even more lethal.
@@Youngster543210 Lol I know the stats bro but stats do little for the eye test as said before. There are some stats that try to measure difficulty of shots now a days but are still highly inaccurate but you read numbers but don’t consider the amount of off balance, pull up , and deadeye shots he was taking in his later years vs his earlier years. Especially if you want to consider 3 point range it’s night and day considering he aimed to take more wide open 3s in that Miami era and also reduce the attempts and considered it smart vs his later years where he will pull up in a defenders face off a dribble. His skills improved dramatically.
@@Youngster543210 Like seriously ask yourself. Can Steve Novak get off the same 3 point shots as 2019 James Harden or Damien Lillard even though neither never lived above a 40% 3 point shooting percentage. There’s plenty of midrange statistics better than Kobe’s with maybe not as high volume but similar but on better numbers but pulling off what he did ? Not many are doing it at all but that’s another debate that becomes messy so I’d rather stick to the topic at hand which is basically just because those stats you’re talking about say one thing they don’t really account for the difficulty of the shots taken even if they do try to measure a “fadeaway” category etc now a days it’s ridiculously imprecise.

@@rojeliocastro97336 years ago, yes. But Lebron has not improved. He has "longevity" but he has not improved since then. Nothing Lebron did in 2018 compares to Jordan's 1986-1990 playoffs and seasons. Or James Harden's 2018 run.
Lebron has longevity, yes.

Unusual
@@ozzee5094 If you follow Bron you know 2015 he was dealing with injuries my dude
His deadeye was on gold that year 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

If u want a triple double MJ can do whenever he wanted, want the right pass at the end of the game MJ can do it, want clutch MJ can do it he never quit like Bron has so if u would pick Bron over MJ in situations then u don’t wanna win…it’s no logical reason to put him over MJ other than glazing smh and it ain’t pointless to compare because MJ was elite in 3 strong eras
Game 1 of the 2018 finals says otherwise.
I've watched basketball from 96' until now. Every season.
And I have never see a better player than Bron in the 2018 playoffs. A close second for me is Kobe in 06' , Shaq in 00' , Jordan in 97' and Giannis in 21' (NBA finals).
Then you must be blind lol
@@jhad777 you can disagree if you want. We all have our own opinions. I simply shared mine.
@@tigeryumyums9407Jordan's 1984-1990 playoffs is by far superior to 2018. Without going into detail, if you average Jordan's playoffs between 1984-1990 he averages 36 points per game at 52% field goal percentage.
Once again, that isn't his max performance. That is the average of his first 6 performances.
@@tigeryumyums9407You have an argument for 2018 Lebron performing better than '97 Jordan. After all, thats the post-retirement version of Jordan.
But the spotlighted Jordan is generally 1986-1993. A version of Jordan that had 5 different 40 point averages in playoff series in that 7 year period.
That Jordan, is what people would say blows 2018 Lebron out the water. If I highlighted the 1990 playoffs, MJ averaged 40/7/7 in his first 10 games. MJ played 16 playoff games that season. So yes, by no means can Lebron match that
@@jhad777Well, he watched a select amount of NBA playoffs and is going based off memory. Jordan averaging 43 against the Celtics, 42 against the 1993 Suns, or averaging 37 during the 1990 playoffs is far above anything Lebron ever did
2018 Lebron kinda reminds me of 2013 Peyton Manning in NFL, even if he had the most dominant individual season- it’s mostly remembered for getting clapped in the championship.
Because you never watched MJ .
As a LeHater I gotta admit peak LeBron was probably the most well-rounded and freakishly athletic player ever....buuuuut he's IMO #2 Jordan #1 Jordan was a killer
Goat
Nope
Watching Torontos bench after lebron kept hitting them jumpers is comical😂… boys was sick to they stomach 😂😭
...after Michael Jordan, Larry Bird and Magic Johnson.
There, I fixed the title for you.
Facts 😂😂😂
Nah he def better than Larry and magic in 2018 but MJ? Never, and I’ve seen Bron play in person
bro you tripping... MJ, Larry, Kobe, Magic, Kareem, Shaq, Russel, Duncan, Curry, West, Robinson, Malone, Wilt, etc. Heck even AD is better. Those players don't need to have an entire team padding their stats in order to look good.
@@seebbsssI wonder way the majority of players and coaches, both current and retired, have lebron as either the second or the greatest basketball player ever, but couch potatoes like you swear he’s not even top 10 lmao like you’d know any better than players that have played basketball at the highest level in the world and actually faced/played with Bron
@@Robss_ Nobody fucking has him second, current players don't give their opinions because he controls the media, and old players just dismiss the question because they don't want to offend your fragile LeStans egos, all you have to do is watch that piece of shit play, nobody respects or cares about him in the NBA, the media is the only place he gets any remarks and that's because they are paid shills

I would take him over every player EVER.
88 Jordan was the best I ever seen 💯💎
It ain't nostalgia. It's common sense. If you know you know
MJ is the GOAT. No debate! LeBron falls apart in the Finals. Just look at his record. It's awful compared to MJ's record. MJ also didn't need steroids.

no he isn't
@@sportstalkonly1442 yes he is and its not even close lebron wasnt even better than Kobe .... many MANY NBA players put Kobe over Lebron
totally agree!
No offense buddy but you’re clearly so young. Ofc 2018 LeBron is best player all time in YOUR OPINION but my mans. You literally don’t have a single clue how good 1987-1988 Michael Jordan was. Words can’t describe. And actually literally scientifically proven and Statistically 88 MJ is the best person to ever touch a basketball! Also 18 Lebron is like a top 3 all time player that year individually. 13’ Bron I think is better. At least 13’ Bron won a ring that year💯…
Why are you bringing up 88 Jordan if he didn’t win a ring then? Your making a hypocritical argument
@@mattsell2361 rings don’t matter at all. That’s all for show. Russel the goat if it’s just “rings” an overall player then yes I’ll say it again for you 88 Jordan. And look it up it statistically literally is…
@@TannerMartin-we4up but you literally said 2013 lebron is better then 2018 lebron cause he won a ring
@@mattsell2361 I think 13 Bron is better than 18 overall personally. I made a statement that he did win a ring in 13 because he did which is obvious
Your argument is misleading. Lebron scored more points than Jordan in the 1990 playoffs because he played more games. 2018 Lebron did not score as much points per game as Jordan's or Wilt Chamberlain's best. Nor those previous era players averaging upwards of 40 in a playoff series. Lebron had a team which made it further in the playoffs.
Jordan averaged 36.9 points in the 1990 playoffs but he only played 16 games. Your video left out context and its at that point I should of turned it off. On 2 different occasions Jordan averaged 36 points in the playoffs but he only played 15 games. So yes, Jordan's "total points" would be less than a playoff series from Lebron when he played 24 games.
He was much better in 2013. I don’t even think it’s up for debate. Best offensive and defensive player in the league. Ur a Kobe fan that didn’t value defense while telling us 2018 his best yr lol.
I’m a Kobe fan when I literally think Bron’s the greatest player ever? This one makes no sense
@@sportsheadlinespodnice deflection.
I’m saying as a Kobe fan u should know defense matters. 2018 LeBron at best was a slight positive on defense. In 2013 he was the best offensive player just like 2018 while being the best defender in basketball. That gap on d is bigger than the gap on O.
Feel free to counter my argument.
@@sportsheadlinespod 24 hours no peep? I’m still waiting on a rebuttal. Lol
