This is why I trust Bear Creek
It took me 20 years to find a firing pin that was reliable with berdan.( in a "Reliable-well-known brand) d p m s;;;; I had to tune each mag and get the feed ramps ground. Then, I had to learn about gas block differences.
Bear Creek saves you the 20 year learning curve.

I love the 7.62x39. I hog hunt and the 7.62x39 is great for hogs. I also have a BCA 350 legend upper attached to an Aero precision lower. and that cartridge is also great for hog hunting it hits hard. Really love the upper that I purchased from you. It works great. And it’s accurate it’s at least a 2MOA Which is great. And it works really good even out 250 yards.

My Bear Creek 7.62x39 upper worked flawlessly out of the box. If you want to spruce it up a little more, Black Rifle Arms enhanced firing pin and hammer spring are a great start. And adjustable gas block along with a Nib bolt will help with cycling the dirty steel rounds as well. My 7.62 is always in the bag for range day.

I bought a 7.62x39 16-inch right side charger BCA upper on a CMMG multi lower. It DID need an enhanced firing pin (Black Rifle Arms - the BCA one I bought was BENT and broke during dry fire testing. I also bought a Black Rifle Arms heavy hammer spring) I also installed an H2 buffer. I NOW have a rifle that runs steel or brass ammo equally well. I manage 2 inch groups at 100 yards with quality ammo and consistently hit an 18x24 inch steel silhouette target at 300 yards with a cheap 1.5-8X scope. I really LIKE the side charger over the rear charger for a scoped AR.
I also bought a BCA "Endure" - an AR chambered in .223 Wylde 20 inch fluted barrel with the most gorgeous American Walnut furniture (triangular forearm, A2 rear and carved pistol grip) that was the excitement of the day at the range (FFL) the day it arrived.(unfortunately it was RMA for warranty for FTF, ripping the bullets from their case and jamming making it unsafe to fire)
UPDATE 02/03/23 The ejector on the BCA bolt fractured and jammed the bolt. I disassembled it at the range to remove the live round. When I got home, I ordered a replacement from Black Rifle Arms and will send BCA the bolt and fragments for quality control inspection.
Haven't heard a word from BCA on the RMA "Endure" - may never see it again.
2/23/2023 UPDATE. The broken 7.62x39 extractor was REPLACED by BCA 2/20/2023 FREE!
The .223 Wylde "The Endure" should be back in hand next week. The issue wasn't BCA customer service not helping. The issue was a communication problem on email and automated answer system. April called me today and all has been resolved. THANK YOU APRIL.

Exactly what I was looking at! Knew the issue was more than likely the firing pin with Intl. manufactured steel cases were more likely a lack of enough pin protrusion. Explained precisely, was exactly what I figured my issues were with my new toy! Ha! Ha! 40 Years of reloading and shooting you figure out problems fairly easily! I had a 50% firing rate if success with a couple magazines! Accurate for what % fired, so I came home and tore the gun apart, measured the firing pin extrusion because I immediately surmised it was the area to look. Ordered 2 new pins for my toy before the video was half done! Ha! Ha! Thanks!

Steel for AKs/ Brass for ARs Also important on 7.62 ARs is keep the chamber clean!!! Here's my experience with their 10.5in 7.62x39 upper from BCA. First firing pin went out about 200 rounds, 2nd firing pin lasted about 60 rounds, 3rd firing pin lasted about 80 rounds. Bought Black Rifle Arm enhanced 7.62x39 firing pin and got 300 rounds threw it so I took care of that. Other problem I was having was it was undergassed so I would have to rack it back to load another cartridge. Bought a 20% reduced power buffer spring, still same issue. Drilled gas port on barrel to 1/8 and walla the thing finally runs good. I have a 16in 556 upper from them also and have zero issues with it but the 7.62x39 upper turned into a fun project that I finally now enjoy shooting. Word of advice to bca, your firing pin design needs to change, the tip is shapped like a coke bottle and I think that creates a weak point, try just making more of a straight shot to a point on the end of the firing pin

I read a lot of people complaining about ASC mags in their x39 guns, but they work great for me. 10s, 20s, and 30s no problems. But I've only ran brass cased, no steel yet. I keep an enhanced firing pin and a Wolfe extra power hammer spring handy but only shot brass thru it so far.
I built one up so I could shoot the cheaper stuff but the cost of ammo now, well you know. I found a bunch of brass Norma for under 50 cents and that isn't much higher than Wolfe and Tula and they have boxer primers and also easier on extractors.
Hey I was hoping you'd talk some about buffer/buffer spring combos.

My first BCA 10.5 (7.62x39) upper was TORQUED wrong and titled to one side. The barrel screws was loose. I heard MANY others complain about the same thing. Loose barrel nut screws and loose gas blocks. The firing pin broke after my first 28 rounds. I got 2 BCA uppers my 7.5 didn't give me ANY issues but my 10.5 was my favorite. I still like BCA and vouched for them on my channel. But I half to be HONEST the FIRING PIN is very cheap metal compared to a stainless steel one. I don't know they use that black colored firing pin vs a stainless steel that I bought for like $10 ... Also the QUALITY CONTROL is simple stuff that SIMPLY taking your time would solve. It seems they rush making these and then send out unfinished uppers with loose screws and stupid stuff like that.
BCA if your reading this I think you need to have a "TALK" with your production team. Tell them to take their time and quit rushing products. This would solve this issue tremendously.

i just took my 7.5" 7.62x39 (gen 2 side charger) BCA upper to the range today, had some issues extracting with tulammo, standard mil-spec PSA lower. no light primer strikes on any of the 300ish rounds fired so the enhanced firing pin worked great.
After about 100 rounds of steel cased, switched over to brass which cycled flawlessly.
for what its worth, i used the ASC mags with no issues on the mag side of things. That cartridge is really fun to shoot, recoil is definitely manageable.
EDIT: only shot 25-50 yards because its a 7.5" barrel, and the groupings were as tight as my 16" barrel 5.56 in the same range. even with the cheaper ammo.

Just received my 7.62x39 upper from Bear Creek Arsenal a few weeks ago and I love it. I will say that you guys should not be recommending ASC magazines on your website. This was my first upper chambered in 7.62x39 and I saw a lot of negative reviews concerning ASC but I bought some because they were recommended by BCA. They were (are) horrible and initially I thought there was something wrong with the upper. I bought a few different brands of magazines after that and they all worked just fine. I tried 4 different ASC mags, 2 - 20 and 2 - 30 round mags and although the 20 round mags were not as bad, they were not reliable at all and the 30 round mags were a complete mess. BCA makes great products and ASC made me think that there was a major problem with my upper. The only problem was the ASC magazines. You guys do a great job and are a fine example of an American company producing quality products at a fair price. Thank you and God bless.

I dremeled down the front of the mags on my 30rd promags and 20rd asc mags and now no feeding issues. You can see that the round will get hung up on the neck of the cartridge if you just try and push a few rounds out with your fingers. Shouldn't have to do that though-still looking for a mag I dont have to mod myself. Maybe I'll try the Ross brand everyone here mentioned.

Thanks for the info. I got some C Product mags and they work perfectly. I also got a couple of DuraMags and they work perfectly. I have one ProMag and it works fine. Everything is new so none of them had any adjustments made to them. Only the ASC mags gave me trouble. These are not cheap, and as you said, we shouldn't have to do any modifying of anything at these prices. I rarely post negative comments but I read a lot of negative posts about the ASC mags and I only bought some because they were recommended on the BCA site. BCA is a great company so I just wanted to let them know what's going on with the mags. Also, I appreciate when people write reviews that are honest and let everyone now what is good or bad about a product, so I want to try and save other people the headache and cost of getting something that doesn't work well.

Perfect ! I do own two 28 round Duramags that I also did a light dremel on, again no issues so...
P.S. thats after several range days and hundreds of rounds.

I bought an upper awhile back, all light primer strikes. Replaced with their newer bolt and enhanced firing pin, nothing. Replaced hammer spring with Wolf extra power, about 50/50 light strikes no matter what kind of Soviet ammo. Installed an h2 buffer and red Sprinco buffer spring, no change.. Bought a whole different upper from BCA and put all my innards in it (to keep it scientific), works great. That means the first upper was out of spec in the chamber causing the round to sit too far forward, preventing the pin from reaching the primer enough much of the time... Doesn't take much. Wonder if they'll let me return or replace the out of spec upper? (Posted several places in hope of helping someone else who may be in my same spot, gun Smith confirmed my thoughts)...

Got one from them a little while back. Knocks off my ears first shot, every time, and round leaves a meteor like crater. Rounds are harder to find, midway normally has them. Gets a ton of looks and step backs at the range once you pull the trigger. An absolute beast.

Wish the standard hand guards on BCA still had the full picatinny rail on top. They all have only a few inches in front and rear. I much prefer the look of a full picatinny rail on top. I love all my BCA uppers. Fired thousands of rounds through mine because I can afford the ammo due to their great prices. My new 7.62 upper just finally shipped today can’t wait to run it.

I use H2 buffer weight 4.6oz, and David Tubb flat wire spring in mine. Its a great combo.
I tried H1 3.0 oz, and H3 5.6 oz, but found H2 4.6 oz was best feel for me. I have the superlative arms adjustable gas block which enabled me to test the multiple buffer weights.
I found I could tame it pretty good with brass, but adjusting gas down too much caused steel not to cycle. The steel must have a weaker pressure somehow than brass.
