I've had a pcx for 8 plus years... I recognised the seat problem straight away. Took to a shop and trimmed the foam hump and filled it to smooth it out, 300 baht....no need to sell.
Hi mate, yeah I went to a trimmer and was going to do just that and then a mate offered me his XMax for a crazy price and I was starting to do longer trips out of Pattaya including the trip to Samui so I decided to sell the PCX for those reasons, other than that the bike was great around Pattaya. Hope all is well with you and the family 😊
It amazes me when people say that the Honda Click is too small. In the past I have read comments that there is not enough room to put your feet. You are saying that it's too small for you and your lady to ride together. What???? I don't know how tall you are or how much you weigh, or how big the other persons feet were, but I am on the large side (6'3" tall, Size 14 US / 48 EU shoe size, and I weigh 130kg) and I have absolutely no difficulties at all, either alone or with a passenger. Also, no comfort problems on long rides to Koh Chang and back on my own. I have been riding My Honda Click 150 for 5 years with no problems whatsoever.
It was great on my own but with Su on the back at 173cm and our dog my knees were up against the front panel and just simply uncomfortable and not good for anything other than a trip for a bite to eat or 7-11
I’m 6 ft 1 150 kilo? I like them but the feet is an issue 14 4e, the guy that has 14 too can not get his foot on the foot rest completely. No way no how.
Excellent vid guys with heaps of info for those that aren't there in Thailand. Awaiting part II to see what the pair of you decided on. Thanks for the vid guys. 👍
I’m in pattaya also. I bought a PCX about two years ago. Not one issue with it, a great bike for around town. The suspension isn’t great. I believe Honda put the R&D and production money into the engine, it’s amazing for its size. I’ll buy the ADV 350 in January as I want to do longer rides. Nice video.
That was a real eyeopener! Being Farang sized myself I thought I was being smart when I had made my mind up to buy a Honda wave - loads of them, no problem with parts or servicing.. but it's just not built for two. Thank you for a very useful and informative Vlog or whatever it's called.
Good video jason. I bought the yamaha nmax abs and can say its perfect price was 95 k bhatt .honda number 1 became majority of thais only know about honda from first bikes .
@goodvibespattaya2423 .cannot fault it and price 5 years warranty supposedly. But for price I'm happy. Ps in Philippines yamaha top bikes. uk Honda just then yamaha
I have a ADV 160 I’m 5’11” and 220 lbs and me and my Thai girlfriend are quite comfortable on it but she’s quite small only 5’2” and a 100 lbs. The taller and wider handle bars along with the taller seat height made a huge difference over the PCX 160 which I didn’t find comfortable riding solo. My biggest advice I can give to anyone looking at buying a new motorbike in Thailand is before you buy go to your local rental shop and rent the bike your interested in for a week or two better yet find a rental shop that has 2 or 3 models your interested in buying and just keep swapping every week. The best thing I can tell you about the ADV 160 is the brakes it has the best brakes in the 160 class and it’s not even close compared with the other 150-160 class bikes even has better brakes then the PCX 160. Cheers 🍻
Years ago I read that in Thailand a motorcycle driver's licence is not mandatory for bikes with engine size below 135. Unsure whether that still applies, but it may explain to some extent the higher volume of sales for the Honda Wave.
Thanks mate, actually started it with black and then started wearing white but Su wanted black and it does look good on her! Getting some navy blue ones made as we speak 👍👍👍
Anything smaller than a PCX is a squeeze for 2 people, especially expats. Later PCX dont have the hump in the seat. Forza, xmax etc all to bulky in traffic but great for long trips
Hi Jason and Su! Great video mate. I started with a Honda QA 50cc, then a Honda CT 70. Great memories of riding through our town forest as a kid. Next was a Vespa scooter that was much faster than the CT 70 😅 finally bought a leftover crate 1982 Honda CB900 Super Sport and loved that rocket. Final upgrade was to a full dressed Harley Davidson in 1987. I didn’t stop riding until 2017 when my spinal problems left me with unreliable legs. Sadly it was too dangerous to ride and worry about laying it down if my legs gave out. I miss riding so much. I love the car and bike videos. I know they do have trikes in Thailand but there are many hoops to jump through in order to get it registered for the roads. I think using Grab will probably be my best option. So many good laughs during the video. Hope you are well mate, my best to Su and a pat to the monstah!
Hi mate, thank you for sharing your story about bikes and sad to hear that your spinal problems have slowed you down but at least you can say you owned a Harley for a long time 😬 Yep Grab or Bolt is a great way to get around and almost like having your own driver for not much money. Thanks again mate and take care 👍
I think if you check you'll find all those clutchless manual bikes like the Wave are all down strokes to change gear up and up strokes to change down gear..... Very awkward to start with, if you're used to normal bikes... you have to move your foot to the back bit of the pedal to change down.... can't use your toe like normal.
Good video, for big fellas....555 I am more Thai sized and have the Aerox (non ABS), awesome machine and still coping with daily abuse. I also have a Wave 125i, and that I have to say, is the most practical scooter for just about everything except long journeys. It's semi auto so it has engine braking, can carry tons of shopping, slim line to squeeze into those tight scooter parking spots, easy to fix, cheap to run, cheap to buy. Fon loves it and she rides like a demon.... I also have 2x CT125 for fun and my big bikes. As I said, I am not a big fella, so squeezing my knees in is something I don't have to consider when buying. Good video and subbed. Take care mate
Here in Dublin i drive an old Yamaha x-max 250 cc .While it was being serviced recently they loaned me the new x-max 300 cc . A superb bike in every way .With ABS of course .When i lived in Thailand i had the N-Max 155 cc also a very good bike .That shop seems to have a great range of bikes .More than Milton in central Pattaya i think .
Thanks for this Jason ill be buying a bike when im next over so this is very useful ... hondas go on forever i rode a 150 xl around the mountains in vietnam no issues at all despite the terrain and with mechanics all around cheap to maintain
Yeah I actually had it in the video and then edited it out because I said something a little negative about them, someone told me about their experiences with GPX which are not good and I said what he told me in the video which was “I made a mistake buying a GPX”. Personally I don’t know but for me I would stick with a Japanese brand and yes, I understand the GPX is good value but your ownership experience might not be great and resale.
Thanks Jason and Sue. I cannot even ride a bike😂 but I like the cool variety available in Thailand. Better than in South Africa. I like the scoopy. Keep well. Cheers from Durban, South Africa
What scooter would you suggest to hire for 6 months or so for a couple roughly the size of you too? Roughly same height? We will be mainly doing coastal rides Pattaya to bang Sare and a little beyond.
Love looking at cars and cycles! Holy Cow, that's a LOT of cycles selling! First bike was a Honda, second a Yamaha, third a Harley, last a Kawasaki... Been driving bikes since 14 years old... Really miss that roar (or at least buzz)... Right now have a little e-cycle... It looks like a cycle (sort of) but not the same... Good episode, hope you two are doing well! Have a nice week! 🙏🙏🙏 👍😎👍
The ABS on Pcx is only on the front , you can tell by the ring of slots on the disc . The Aerox has an ABS variant but no rear disc otherwise I would have bought one . Have a look at the Yammie Exciter if you dont mind clutch and gears
My first honda was a Trail. CT 70 1969. I was 12 yo. I bought a click 150 6 years ago. Never really happy with it. Got an ADV 160 this year. 👍 only problem was it had engine trouble and Honda had it over three weeks to replace the engine. Otherwise very good choice for the money, handling is good on all road surfaces and the ABS is the bomb.
Yamaha Aerox - standard models don't have ABS, ABS model obviously does have ABS but is single channel, ie, only works on the front wheel, all models have drums at the rear. Interesting video, Honda smash them all, its a bit scary their market dominance.
I own a wave 125 super bike so cheap to fix burns almost no gas. Never breaks down. Only brakes and tires, and oil changes My other bike is a kawasaki 650 burns the gas and l.use it for trips on sokinvit or longer trips.
They are mate, the 2nd pair of copies I have bought from Mikes Mall on beach road Pattaya and extremely comfortable, the original pair are still in good condition and I wear them too, the only shoes I have in Thailand, I think 900 baht or thereabouts 👍👍👍
Thanks mate, I had it in the video and edited it out because I said something a little negative that I had heard from an owner that bought a GPX second hand, not a 300 but he regretted buying it and sold it to buy my PCX 🤔
There is enough room to comfortably place my feet. It doesn't matter if they are not 100% on the foot pads. That's nothing to cry about. Even when I have a bag of groceries hanging at my feet, there is still some room for my feet. They are not dragging on the ground.
If you want the most bullet proof workhorse motorcycle, buy the Wave. If you want an automatic with a step (carry dog, small packages) buy the Scoopi or for more power buy the Click 160. Currently, I hop around on an MSX with engine modifications that almost double the stock HP... it's a fun little machine. I have a 2009 Honda CZi 110 and a Suzuki GSX-S150. My Triumph Speed 400 is arriving in a week...so a bike or two is going away in the near future.
Hi Jason .I follow you loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time .I remember you lived in Bang Saray in a Condo .You mentioned here that you lived on the dark side .Does that mean that you are renting a house now ? I would be interested in you doing a video on house rentals available .Maybe you have done so already ?
Hi mate, yeah moved to Soi Khao Noi in a little house, have a look at this video PATTAYA Moving DAY - From BEACHFRONT Dreams to CITY Nightmares!! + Car & Bike Update th-cam.com/video/ITM-cAoiKyc/w-d-xo.html
One bike not mentioned, yet if on a budget is worth looking at. The Honda Lead. Flat floor for picking up water from market and largest under seat storage I know of for a 125 cc. Where was it on the sales list for 2023?
Thanks mate, I cannot find any sales data on the Lead or Giorno because all that is published that I can find is the top 5 by segment but I would think both are probably in or close to the top 10 👍
I love my Honda PCX 160, amazing bike for me. I prefer that lower windshield. Just one question, since you said you can`t fit on that seat, but you can on a Honda ADV 160. How so? For me those two seats, sizes and bikes, look pretty much the same. So is the distance to the front wheel and stearing. As far as I can see they are built the same (also pretty much like the Yamaha NMax). I may be wrong, so that`s why I ask. Thank you for taking us on this tour 😊😊
Hi Sarlina, that’s great and I sold the PCX because a friend offered me his XMAX and it was to good to refuse plus I was about to start doing longer rides including the journey to Samui via ferry from Sattahip and then the return to Surat Thani and the massive ride back. It was the Click 160 that I had trouble with having Su and Lilly on the back, my knees were touching the front panel under the steering, I never had anyone on the back of the PCX when I owned it back in 2022 when I first moved here 😬 Thank you so much for your support and always taking the time to comment, I hope all is going well in China 😬
@@goodvibespattaya Thanks for answering 😊 I might have said "fit" into the seat, but your word might have been "uncomfortable", because of the shape of the seat. I get that with longer travels of course. I just didn't understand the difference between the PCX and the ADV, the seats look and feel the same to me. But I'm of course a little shorter than your highness 😊 Thanks, it's looking good on all accounts for me now. No relapse on the c, and the pool villa project is going great. Slow, but great. Still have a few months left in Beijing, I really need that for my budget 😱😂
Many models they won’t discount and some dealers regardless of how long it has been in stock will barely discount but wait for part 2 of this video, I got a cracking deal and the dealer told Su in Thai that they had received a big bonus from the factory and were happy to pass it on to us BUT not all dealers think like this and generally will ask retail or more and keep the factory bonus, just depends on the dealer 😬
I talked about GPX in the video but edited it out as it was negative and not appropriate given the dealer allowed us to video. I don’t know but the guy that bought my Click had one and didn’t speak very nicely about his experience
My first bike was a Honda SL 100.. At 15 went back to old suburb of Ellerslie. I did a wheel stand down the main st lol but did not notice the traffic cop behind me 😂. Now I want an Enfield when move to Wongamat😊 But no more wheel stands 😂
Nice mate, I loved my little SL70 and used to ride my brothers Suzuki RM400 two stroke beast but needed a step to get on it back then, wild ride that one. The Enfield will be nice, maybe we can go on a few rides when you get here 👍
The PCX was great around Pattaya but on longer rides out of Pattaya I got a sore back and then a mate offered me his XMax300 so I changed to that and started doing longer trips including to Koh Samui 👍
hi Jase and Su great video mate very enjoyable and interesting. I have a Lambretta V200 special 2019, more style over substance in my view, really stiff suspension and sporadically cuts out at low revs despite going back to the dealers a couple of times which is really frustrating. Considering trading it in for a yamaha nmax 125 sadly they don't sell the 155 cc model in the UK. Any chance finding out from any dealers out there if they are aware of any fixes for the lambretta. I know it is a big ask but if too difficult no worries mate. Thanks anyway. keep up the good work and best regards to you both and of course the little monster😀
That’s hilarious your first bike was an Honda SL 70,.. that’s the first bike I ever road , my older brother taught me to ride his “1970” SL 70 , I was five years old , several years later I got my first bike and it was “1973” Honda XR-75,… when I graduated high school I drove from Boston to Florida on my “82” Honda CB9000F , and now I’m in my early sixties screaming around town on my “2016” Honda pcx150 … so I guess you could say I’m team Honda
Wow that’s amazing, first time I have ever heard of anyone else owning an SL70, what great memories and thank you for sharing this, really appreciate it mate 👍
I have a deposit for an ADV 350 in hua hin. Ill be there in January hoping for availability of a 2025 but I haven't seen or heard of any updates or news other than phony youtube video's. Have you heard anything? Thanks in advance and keep up the good stuff !
Sounds good mate, I keep checking the Honda website and signed up for their newsletter but haven’t seen or heard of anything, it might just be the addition of new colours?
I'm a sucker for those 3-wheeled motorcycles (2 close coupled front wheels) since - at least in Europe you are allowed to drive them on a car driver license, I have seen some in Jomtien, but they are far between.
I have a friend who is about the same size. Had issues with his knees on a forza 350. Might have slightly more room on the Adv 350 but you can check out the GPX product as it was surprisingly roomy for him and it was only a 155cc called the drone. There is a new 270 cc bike from them now, for around 100,000 baht worth a look.
big western men need big frame/body bike too can drive comfortable, honda rebel 300 or 500 have perfect bike to big men, good drive city in Thailand traffic and good if want go far long trip go travelling too. north Thailand roud trip have fondewull bike trip go whit many bikers.
wave, scoopy, pcx all have too small body, if big western men want drive, too small sitting and drive. handlebar crashed to knee and need sitting backseat. not comfortable drive. need biggest frame/body at bike. honda rebell 300 or 500cc have perfect Thailand road and city drive. not too small.
i have honda click and wave 110i but i not like drive, totally bad drive too small bike to big men. next and lot better bike i buy honda rebell 500cc perfect drive Thai traffic and city and can go long trip far too better than small engie bike. i test HD too but totally too heavy and bad drive city ,have only good if use long trip around Thailand big roads.
@ I did that bit of humour on a Kawasaki Video and they actually Banned me for it, 🤣, I said im trying to part ex my bike how much would you offer for the Wife 🤣
Pcx is good enough I don’t understand why this guy did not like it if you want a smaller bike the Honda click 125 is a great bike it has served me well it’s now 6 years old looks like new
How long have you been coming to Thailand? You even have "Pattaya" in the name of your channel. In all of this time, you haven't learned how to pronounce it properly? It's not difficult for Westerners from English speaking countries to say.
Mate I pronounce it like the Thais do, Pattia and have done for donkeys years, I will ask my Thai girl to clear it up in a video, am I wrong to pronounce it like the locals? Thanks
@@goodvibespattaya G'day Su and Jas. I bought my first ever bike ( 2nd hand, Suzuki two stroke ) in Patong in 1992. How and why I'm still kicking on, I don't know. Good episode, hope you two are doing well! Have a nice week!
🙏🙏🙏
👍😎👍
Harley not have good drive in Thailand city and street, too heavy, big, and non comfortable drive city.
@@mattivirta Yeah I agree... No need such a heavy bike anymore...
👍😎👍
Thanks mate, e-cycle sounds good 👍
Drop over to Si Racha across from the Robinson Mall, The Honda shop there sells the Honda ADV 350 for 172k
Thanks mate, been there and yeah good price, I think it’s part of the Piya Group? Wait for Part 2 😬
Didn’t you say you paid 177k for a roadsync?
@@goodvibespattaya yes 177 for the Bluetooth version.
The ABS on Pcx is only on the front , you can tell by the ring of slots on the disc . The Aerox has an ABS variant but no rear disc otherwise I would have bought one . Have a look at the Yammie Exciter if you dont mind clutch and gears
Thanks mate, appreciate it 👍
Do they ship to the US?
I think you would have to check with customs at your end first but you probably can 👍
Anytime I hire a bolt I pray it’s a pcx but I enjoy driving a click. I hate the wave. I wish bolt gave you an option to pick any driver not on a wave!
Haha yeah that would be good, should be like the car option 👍
My first honda was a Trail. CT 70 1969. I was 12 yo. I bought a click 150 6 years ago. Never really happy with it. Got an ADV 160 this year. 👍 only problem was it had engine trouble and Honda had it over three weeks to replace the engine. Otherwise very good choice for the money, handling is good on all road surfaces and the ABS is the bomb.
Thanks mate, appreciate you sharing this and sorry to hear about the problem with the ADV, quite unusual I would think but yeah what a great bike 👍
Yamaha Aerox - standard models don't have ABS, ABS model obviously does have ABS but is single channel, ie, only works on the front wheel, all models have drums at the rear. Interesting video, Honda smash them all, its a bit scary their market dominance.
Thank you 😊 really appreciate you sharing this 👍👍👍
The Honda’s start at a very good price if you just want something for your daily needs
where is the part with the motorcycles? :/
You mean because they are scooters?
What about Honda 300 & 500 cc Rebels, DO they have those ?? if so How much are they Sir
They have the 300 Rebel from 146,300 baht but it appears no 500
Thanks mate 👍
so you live in Pattaya or Bang Saray?
Pattaya 👍
I own a wave 125 super bike so cheap to fix burns almost no gas.
Never breaks down. Only brakes and tires, and oil changes
My other bike is a kawasaki 650 burns the gas and l.use it for trips on sokinvit or longer trips.
Haha nice mate, good on you and thanks for sharing your experience, greatly appreciate it and your support 👍👍👍
Welcome great channel
@ thanks buddy 😬😬😬
funny enough my lambretta is the same colour as the one in the showroom retro orange
👍👍👍
Are they copy Yeezy shoes you are wearing. If so are they comfortable?
They are mate, the 2nd pair of copies I have bought from Mikes Mall on beach road Pattaya and extremely comfortable, the original pair are still in good condition and I wear them too, the only shoes I have in Thailand, I think 900 baht or thereabouts 👍👍👍
Hey great vid, have you any thoughts on the new GPZ DZ3?
Nice mate, thank you for sharing this and your love of bikes, awesome 👍👍👍
I will never learn to ride bikes with an automatic, I need the clutch to be able to drive really slowly.
Hi mate, yeah moved to Soi Khao Noi in a little house, have a look at this video

One bike not mentioned, yet if on a budget is worth looking at. The Honda Lead. Flat floor for picking up water from market and largest under seat storage I know of for a 125 cc. Where was it on the sales list for 2023?
The odd little back wheel looks strange? What about the new Gornio?
Thanks mate, I cannot find any sales data on the Lead or Giorno because all that is published that I can find is the top 5 by segment but I would think both are probably in or close to the top 10 👍
Hi Marty, 2 week wait on Giorno according to one dealer but I can’t find any sales data online 👍
It was the Click 160 that I had trouble with having Su and Lilly on the back, my knees were touching the front panel under the steering, I never had anyone on the back of the PCX when I owned it back in 2022 when I first moved here 😬
Thank you so much for your support and always taking the time to comment, I hope all is going well in China 😬
@sarlina1 that’s awesome to hear Sarlina, look forward to that lunch when the home is finished 😬
Good 👍 one
Thanks mate 👍👍👍
Are prices negotiable at these motorbike shops?
Yes but very little room for getting a price down and only if you pay and not finaced
Whats your view on the GPX Drone, get a lot of bang for your buck ?
Depreciation is frightening!! Buy less than a year old for low 40s...
The Enfield will be nice, maybe we can go on a few rides when you get here 👍
@@goodvibespattaya yes, that would be fantastic..My brother in Melbourne wants me to do same as he has a few bikes there I think.
@@goodvibespattaya Oh, try riding the RD Yamaha 350🤣😳
I bought a pcx 160 great bike I also have a Honda 125 click 2018 No car needed here lol, The pcx for you was uncomfortable Really I love mine .
Thanks mate, I will try and ask and get Su to explain it to a technician 👍👍👍
Wat percentage do you think bikes are brought on finance
100 %
A very high percentage of Thais finance and this year sales are down due into tighter restrictions on loan applications and household debt
I'm a sucker for those 3-wheeled motorcycles (2 close coupled front wheels) since - at least in Europe you are allowed to drive them on a car driver license, I have seen some in Jomtien, but they are far between.
Not been sold here years.... 5 or 6... could be more
Thanks mate, yeah that’s what I heard also 😊
You should have kept the 350 ADV hand down the best scooter
Standby 😬
What's your height
182cm or 6 foot
@goodvibespattaya most of them bikes must be smaller to me as well then
I’m thinking of travelling to Thailand for a year or two , do I need a permanent address to own a scooter ?
No ,but you need a residence certificate for transfer to you name .A condo contract of 3 months should do .
Thanks mate, yes a residency certificate and passport 👍👍👍
There are not even 66 million Thais in Thailand. The estimations are much higher.
Thanks mate 👍
37,000.00 Thai Baht =
1,098.16 US Dollar
Cheap 👍😬👍
I'm a bigger guy 6'4 250 pounds what's the best automatic you recommend? And the price please
@simpleliving3506 thanks for the info 👍
big western men need big frame/body bike too can drive comfortable, honda rebel 300 or 500 have perfect bike to big men, good drive city in Thailand traffic and good if want go far long trip go travelling too. north Thailand roud trip have fondewull bike trip go whit many bikers.
Like the other comment, the ADV350 but an option would be a Yamaha TMax560 but they are expensive, from 539,000 baht
@@goodvibespattaya I'll pay the price for comfort
Gear ones ar the best last longer
Very true mate 👍
ADV would be my choice
The best mate 👍👍👍
Can't you just get a custom seat? I've seen other youtubers get a custom seat for next to nothing.
I was about to do that on the PCX and then a close mate offered me his XMAX for a bargain price and started doing longer rides 👍
GPX DZ3
Thanks mate, I will go to the GPX dealer soon and make a video 👍
wave, scoopy, pcx all have too small body, if big western men want drive, too small sitting and drive. handlebar crashed to knee and need sitting backseat. not comfortable drive. need biggest frame/body at bike. honda rebell 300 or 500cc have perfect Thailand road and city drive. not too small.
Thanks mate, the Rebel looks good but I do love the ADV350 👍
i have honda click and wave 110i but i not like drive, totally bad drive too small bike to big men. next and lot better bike i buy honda rebell 500cc perfect drive Thai traffic and city and can go long trip far too better than small engie bike. i test HD too but totally too heavy and bad drive city ,have only good if use long trip around Thailand big roads.
I find that Two wheeled Bike sell better….😂
😂😂😂👍
@ I did that bit of humour on a Kawasaki Video and they actually Banned me for it, 🤣, I said im trying to part ex my bike how much would you offer for the Wife 🤣
👍👍👍
I know who's brain to pick when I'm going to get my bike thanks mate top vid
Thanks mate, great timing with your email today 👍👍👍
Yes the timing was unbelievable thanks for your help
@@Tassieboypclark welcome buddy 😬
Pcx is good enough I don’t understand why this guy did not like it if you want a smaller bike the Honda click 125 is a great bike it has served me well it’s now 6 years old looks like new
No Real bikes ?
Not in the top 5 but one day I will make a video on road bikes and prices on Harley, Ducati, triumph etc, is that what you mean?
Thanks
Used motorcycles
Yep, did a video way back early last year but time for another, thanks mate 👍
Suzukis rule, honders drool
😜😬👍
Dont buy the vespa, you need a bike that handles well, better than the vespa, dont risk yourself, and its expensive
small size wheels have dangerous and road if have sand you flip sure small size wheel vespa, not totally good.
Wheels way too small for my liking and the pot holes on the roads here 👍
stupid buy forza because can buy about same money lot better honda rebel 300cc, 200 000 B.
Thanks
Ummm...I'm Thai...and no, you don't.
@@Nader_61 okay, I just asked Su and she said I’m right but if you think I’m wrong tell me how to pronounce it please?
Haha! Dude, she's a keeper. Trying not to hurt your feelings I guess. If you think I'm trolling, can you just ask someone else...ANYONE else!
